Courtney Hill Utt, founder and owner of her namesake interior design firm, was born and raised in Austin, Texas and earned a degree in Interior Design from the University of Georgia. After several years in the industry – working for reputable, high-end residential design firms in New York City and Dallas – Courtney has learned and honed invaluable practical and technical design skills. Those experiences, along with her professional ambition and desire to return to Austin, fueled her decision to start her own design firm, CHU Interiors LLC. Courtney’s background, natural business acumen, integrity and creative eye for design make her a well-equipped interior designer. She prides herself on being able to create functional and exceptional spaces by blending her style with her client’s tastes to create a cohesive, unique look. Through a collaborative process, CHU Interiors aims to satisfy the unique identity, needs and aspirations of each client. We hired Courtney to design our living room, dining room and master bedroom and truly cannot recommend her enough! Throughout the entire process, Courtney was extremely organized, timely and communicative. Her high attention to every detail and incredible taste is unparalleled. She went above and beyond to fulfill all of our requests, answer all of our questions and even stayed under budget! Courtney made it such a fun and enjoyable process, and we will absolutely be using her for all of our interior design needs moving forward!

I truly could not be happier we chose Courtney to oversee the remodel of our restaurant. She truly blew it out of the water. WAY above and beyond our expectations. She has such an eye for fabrics, colors and she's so great at mixing in unique, one of a kind pieces. As this was a restaurant, it was really important to make use of the entire space. Efficient seating while still feeling cozy, with a homey touch. Well, she definitely achieved this! I can’t tell you how often we get compliments about the ambiance and the number of times we get asked about paint colors, furniture, honestly everything! Courtney was clear about how the process would work from the very beginning so I knew what to expect. She was honest and upfront about pricing, and consistently communicative throughout the project. I'm so thankful we found her, and can't wait to work together on future remodels!

Courtney was such a joy to work with throughout the entire decorating process. We had no idea how to decorate our first house and she brought in her expertise, experience, vendors and suggestions to make it a real home that really reflected who we were! We weren't really sure what our style was and she helped us find out what we liked and didn't like. She was under-budget (!!), always on top of invoices and payment, and was quick to notify us of any changes. Her vendor selections were amazing, had great connections, and is very respected in the industry since she is so well-liked, on-time, and quick with vendor payments. After measuring everything in the home, she was able to give us 3 fully-customized options and had us choose items for each one. It was a really fun process and it wasn't stressful at all, especially since she really took our budget seriously and wasn't pushy. We still have 2 rooms to complete once we get more budget and I can't wait to use Courtney again for our next project! 11/10 recommend.

Even though I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted initially, her suggestions opened me up to more ideas that I had not thought of. Her drawings of various options with regards to furniture placement were especially helpful. She has impeccable taste and was very professional in dealing with my contractor on a day to day basis. I highly recommend her services for any of your projects big or small!

Can’t say enough positive things about our experience with Courtney! We engaged Courtney to design our living room, 2 bedrooms, 2 baths and small outdoor sitting area. About 2,000 square feet. From the onset, Courtney was extremely organized and communicative, immediately helped us define a vision / style, and then set clear expectations for budget & timeline. Courtney listened to our ideas and uses / needs / wants for our spaces and then ran with it from there providing several design schemes and corresponding budgets with representative imagery, fabrics & materials, etc. We really liked the fact that we had some flexibility to pick and choose what we liked within Courtney’s different design visions... and then Courtney figured out how to tie it all together! This ultimately resulted in a truly perfect design for our home. The best part about Courtney’s design process is that we we got to participate and be engaged in her process versus feeling like we were “being told what to do”. Right on time and on budget (!!). Will absolutely hire Courtney again. Highly, highly recommend!
