We are very happy to post a “This is the Best Interior Designer You Can Work With” award to Cindy Smetana, who skillfully and expertly guided us through a recent remodel of our home. We cannot recommend her more highly. Ours was a complete remodel – kitchen, family room, dining room, living room, bedrooms, bathrooms, powder room and outdoor living space. We love the way Cindy worked with us to converge on a “timeless” design language for the entire home and then brought her knowledge and attention to detail to each room – layouts, cabinetry, materials, colors, flooring, furniture, lighting and accents. She provided us detailed “storyboards” and options for each room. The hand-drawn layouts and designs were adorable. She worked seamlessly with our architects and contractors to ensure the concepts came to fruition and directed and oversaw the installation of every detail in the house. During the nearly two year process Cindy listened carefully, provided expert guidance, pushed back on us when warranted, was generous with her time, visited the project frequency, was always available for an emergency and was fun to work with. She’s the best! Our home turned out better than we had hoped because of the Cindy touch!

Cindy did a beautiful job on our remodel. She not only redesigned our entire downstairs, but she also assisted us in selecting our new furniture, window treatments and artwork. She was able to help us capture square footage that we didn't know we had in the kitchen and family room. Our home feels brand new after the work she inspired. She was very organized, quick to reply to all of our needs along the way, always a step ahead of everything, and helped the process go smoothly. We loved her design ideas and couldn't be happier with the results of her labor. Cindy is a talented designer and decorator, and a pleasure to work with.

I had never done a remodel of any kind before our kitchen remodel. The whole process was new to me and honestly, quite terrifying. I planned for a year to be sure I knew exactly what I wanted and didn’t want. I needed someone to draw up the design plans and assure me I was doing the right thing. I didn’t want any design flaws. I had never worked with a designer before and I had no idea who to call. I saw a beautiful kitchen in an article in The OC Register designed by, you guessed it, Cindy Smetana Interiors. I met with Cindy at the house to discuss “my dream kitchen”. A few days later we met at the house again and she presented me several design plans. She able to take my vision, “needs and wants” and create a beautiful kitchen design. She made my dream kitchen a reality. I’m so thankful I found her. She was a pleasure to work with every step of the way. I would love the opportunity to work with her again.

I worked with Cindy Smetana for over a year rebuilding my family home. In our first meeting I gave her the task of achieving four primary goals. I wanted her to design a one story home and outdoor living space that would accommodate me now and into the future from a structural standpoint. My second goal was to use elements and materials that were classic and elegant that would stand the test of time and not become outdated. Further, I wanted the colors and materials to be harmonious which would allow me the flexibility to rearrange furniture and seating areas to accommodate a variety of activities. And finally, I wanted a large open concept living space that would blend the outdoors with the interior and maximize the incredible canyon view. Cindy was able to achieve all four goals. I have a busy life filled with work, home and charitable activities which prevented me from making every small decision on the project. After taking the time to become familiar with my tastes and preferences Cindy was able to present ideas, materials and samples at our weekly meeting. Cindy was able to design and draw detailed custom cabinets which maximized storage and functionality in my home. The bathroom tile design is simply breathtaking. I found that Cindy had an extensive list of professional contacts that she was able to call upon as a reliable source for wall paper, tile, lighting, bathroom fixtures, rugs and furniture. She was always mindful of the project budget I had established and the timelines for each phase of the project. Cindy had an excellent working relationship with the general contractor, Pat Lenehan and the architect Erin LeMaster. It was Cindy's ability to understand and share my vision of the home that enabled the project to become a reality. Cindy Smetana did the interiors for a home Smith Brothers built in Hawaii. Cindy's tile, stone, cabinetry, furniture and design choices were amazing. The client loved them all and was very involved. We look forward to hopefully working on another project together soon.

Cindy Smetana Interiors was hired for a second time to provide a kitchen design and layout. Cindy did a wonderful job. She provided several alternatives to meet our needs. Each design had its unique design, which reflected a tremendous amount of thought and work that went into the overall project. Cindy helped to oversee the remodel of our home including the kitchen, dining room, two living areas, family room, master bedroom and two bathrooms. She designed the kitchen, which turned out beautifully. She selected tile, fixtures, lighting, furniture, fabrics and art for all the rooms. She is great with color and style - so much so that by the end of our four months together, we approved several purchases "sight unseen". My husband chose the contractors for our remodel and there were two main ones that Cindy worked closely with. She was always respectful and friendly to everyone, helping to move the job along quickly. She was good at understanding our design preferences and keeping within our tastes and budget. Cindy Smetana Interiors designed and helped execute a complete remodel of our downstairs including kitchen, family room, office, laundry room, powder room, living room and dining room.
