Connie's HOME Decor & Design

I want to share with everyone that Connie redesigned our condominium and the results are wonderful. It hadn't been re-designed for at least 14 years. She added grey ceramic tile flooring with a wood pattern that we love. Connie reconfigured the closed-in kitchen by creating a niche for the fridge. A wall between the kitchen and dining room was removed and a beautiful island with storage installed. This made the dining room and kitchen both appear larger. The mosaic tiles in shades of aqua covering two walls and backsplash in the kitchen are the piece de resistance. Our neighbor is remodeling now and wants to use the same center island configuration and the mosaic tile. We love the draperies and bathroom vanities that she recommended. All in all, great job, Connie!

Working with Connie was a great experience! My husband and I had recently relocated to our over 55 community and purchased a perfect size condo. Connie's Home Decor and Design was the first firm I called after reading her great reviews for home decorating. Not only did she do the design, she also had her own contractors which made it so convenient and easy for us. One call to Connie and any issues were taken care of immediately. I can’t say enough about my experience with Connie. She was so fun to work with. And I had to let go and let her do her thing. And I couldn’t be happier with my new home. She has a fantastic eye for decorating. And put such a personal touch to our home.

We purchased a new (to us) condo in the Tampa area and did not bring any of our "up north" furniture. We spoke with Connie and she asked about our style, preferences, etc. She suggested a mid-century coastal look which reinforced our design vision. She would pick out different furniture, flooring, rugs, accessories, etc. to challenge us to think outside the box. We brought some pictures and mementos that she incorporated flawlessly into the design. Connie coordinated all aspects of the project including painters, flooring, and installers so we did not have to search for reliable service providers. We are completely happy with the outcome and would highly recommend Connie and her staff.

Five seasons ago I arrived in my newly purchased Florida home from New England. A friend took me to visit Connie’s Decor for ideas. I purchased a tropical upholstered chair off her floor. Then I hired Connie to visit my SCC home for some guiding direction to pull together some of my purchases. Whenever I was near Connie’s store, I always stopped in because she always had new treasures and decor to admire. Over time Connie has helped me choose paint colors, fabrics, wallpaper and furnishings to help my new house feel like home. It was wonderful working with Connie. She truly listened, understood and recommended products and services that were right for us. She took her time to present options. After purchasing a new home in Apollo Beach at the start of this year we hired Connie and her team to turn our dream of a West Indies beach paradise into a reality and she more than delivered. Connie had complete direction in the fixtures, finishes, furniture, and artwork, The level of finish on the bespoke woodwork in particular is absolutely beautiful and we could not be more pleased Connie and her team stayed in constant communication with us during the project, where receptive to our comments and questions and we would be more than happy to recommend them to anyone looking to do a simple single room project through to a full house design like we did. I had read an article about Connie in the news paper and when we decided to move and down size, I knew she was the person that could help us. She: went out to view the model of the villa we were purchasing; came to our home and viewed all of our "stuff" with me and we decided what to keep and what (in my case) to donate. Her advice - if you're not sure - keep it; You can always get rid of it later, but, probably, not get it back. After our things were delivered to us from storage - she helped us with furniture placement. More advice - try something different and had ideas I would have never thought of; She also helped me decide where to place my art and she hung it for me; Later I asked her opinion on window treatments. Got good advice there, too. Also, she chose bedding and some furniture that she thought would work for us and it did. She made our move so much easier and less stressful and now we have a beautiful home. ,

Ever thought it’d be nice to hire an Interior Decorator but couldn’t get past the thought of spending ‘all that money’ on someone’s opinion? Neither could we. We knew we weren’t getting our house to look as we wanted. No matter how we tried it had a bland look and feel. We wanted a bit more kick but not ‘BAM’, as Emeril would say. We broke down and decided to ask Connie for advice. Yes, her advice, not necessarily her design. There’s a difference. We wanted to give our own input and make final decisions, but we needed someone with talent and experience to guide us towards our vision – melded with hers. Connie did just that. She looked over our house and gave us her unvarnished yet tactful evaluation. Ow, it stung a bit, but we knew she was right. She made general suggestions, a couple pointed ones, and suggested we do our homework while she did hers in the background. We each did and met again at our house. Having been a photographer, I had several of my prints on the walls. She tactfully pointed out that they weren’t displayed properly. She looked over the balance of my dozens of framed photos and suggested how to group and display them. Wow, what a difference! She also researched furniture and rugs, offered suggestions, sent us photos, and gave us her opinion on our suggestions. We couldn’t ask for more involvement without making us feel like everything was done ‘her way’. It’s not totally done; it may never be. We’re looking for a couple rugs and some accent pieces to get the look we aspire to. As with most things in life, it is a work in progress. But she’s guided us on our way and we now feel more confident. Did we have to lay out some cash? Yes. Was it worth the investment? Absolutely! How does our house look now? Much more as we’d envisioned, it looks and feels like ‘our’ home – we love it. Thank you Connie!

Connie helped us choose colors and textures for our lanai. It turned out beautiful. She has great taste!! -- Could not have done it without her. Very pleased!

This was my first time hiring an interior decorator. My involvement with Connie's Home Decor was a very enjoyable experience. One that I would do again. I met with Connie only a few times, but she captured what I wanted to do right away. She gave me suggestions, that I never would have considered. She transformed my living/dining space into something that I enjoy every day. I had given her a budget of $5000. She stayed within the budget, and anything over that was at my own request. I would highly recommend Connie's Home Decor to anyone. It was a very enjoyable experience for me.

I had heard of Connies talent in repurposing and her decorating skill .Bottim line? She lives uo to her reputation. Connie took pieces from my garage, attic and former home and purchased additional pieces and voila, my warm homey place was created. And at a reasonable price. She is a gifted professional. Was not happy with our visit. She seemed to be about HER ideas and not OURS. After 1 visit she brought us everything wrong. Then after our visit we thought ok we got on the same page. Then a few days later she emails us and tells us we need to buy 2 pieces of furniture asap without even seeing plans or anything. plus she didn't even both to call. She defiantely wasn't the designer for us.

Connie is responsive, creative, resourceful and hard working. Once she gets started, there is no stopping her, and she will do as much or as little as you need her to do. She is very helpful in visualizing the layout of your project and will help you understand the scale of your rooms and the furniture you need. She is experienced and knows how to design a job in order to stay within your budget. She can make a small room seem spacious, and can create an intimate setting in a large room.

I wanted to update my living room and had very definite ideas of what I wanted. Connie listened patiently to my ideas, helped me refine them, and then brought exactly the types of patterns I wanted for my two chairs to be reupholstered to go with sofa I had just purchased. She then found an upholsterer for me who did an excellent job with both chairs and a long ottoman. The ottoman is about five feet long and had an intricate pattern requiring lots of cuts and stitching. My living room now looks gorgeous, just how I envisioned. I can't thank Connie for all of her ideas, fabrics, and the upholsterer contact!

Connie was great to work with! She answered all of my questions and kept me in the loop with the process. We absolutely love the four closet spaces she designed for us!

Two years ago my husband and I were searching for the perfect company to customize a wardrobe closet for us. We interviewed 3 companies at our home, and went with Connie. The company she worked for wasn't necessarily the least expensive, but it was her professionalism and expertise, and her dynamic willingness to work with us and get us what we wanted, as the reason she got the job. We couldn't be happier with the beautiful installment and addition to our master bedroom. It truly was Connie who won us over. She's simply the best!

Connie helped with our custom closet and Murphy bed. She made excellent recommendations and brought up ideas and suggestions that we never even thought of. We achieved the closet of our dreams! We moved into our home about 3 months ago. It was a small house and had a few disadvantages. I knew it had potential but didn't know how to achieve it. We had a family room that I had no idea what to do with. It had 2 bedroom doors and a bathroom door on the wall opposite the TV. How do I arrange furniture with all those door openings with a bathroom door in the middle of it all. I called Connie's Home Decor and Connie came to the house. She measured and took pictures. In a few days, she came up with a plan. The previous owners left some furniture which she used and repurposed the rest. She did things I would not have even thought of. She is very creative. She got my personality and my style after meeting for the first time. She bought all of the furniture, none of which came from a store and also bought all the rugs. She turned my lanai into a beautiful dining room. She thought that barn doors would solve the problem in the family room and it looks like a totally different room now. She also put barn Windows in the 2 bedrooms using the same hardware as the doors. It looks awesome. She was very reasonable and now it really looks like our little dollhouse. I would enthusiastically recommend Connie to everyone and my friends are all going to hire her too. Give Connie a call. You won't be sorry. She is a super star!!!

3 years ago Connie took charge of remodeling my home.in Florida and when i purchased a condo in upstate NY it was Connie i called again for her expertise. she visited, took notes and once again was able to pick out the perfect colors. and find consignment and crags list pieces to help not only keep cost down but quality up. and all coordinated from a distance. she is without question , gifted, fun to work with and a master when it comes to repurposing. Anyone who hires Connie, hires a: delivery on time, appropriately priced, artist of the highest quality.

I have known Connie for several years. I have seen several start to finish residential home remodels that she completed. All were excellent.
