When we moved into our mid-century ranch home, we knew instantly that we would like to update the kitchen. Not only were there many inefficient qualities in the kitchen, but we knew that updating this space would help the entire house feel more vibrant. Since this was our second home purchase, and we had lived in this space long enough to know what worked and what didn't, we had very specific desires for the aesthetic and function of this kitchen. We did not want to cut corners with the design and build. When we hired Cynthia and her team, we were pleased to see all the time and planning that went into the design. We spent several months meeting about every aspect you can think of...color, flooring, tile, cabinets, handles, lighting, window fixtures, layout and function, dining furniture. We went through several rounds of flooring, wood, fabric, and tile samples until we were happy with the combination we landed on. We even spent a day designating where all of our existing kitchen items would go in the new drawers and cabinets. This made it much easier upon completion to move everything back in. Cynthia and her team oversaw the design, budget, ordering, demo, construction, and installation of all phases of work. She has built a team of contractors over many years that are all really great at what they do. Overall, we are very happy with how they were able to help our vision come to life. There were specific design elements that we wanted to incorporate: open shelving for our ceramic collection, a tambour appliance garage, a fun tile backsplash, deep drawers and minimal upper cabinetry. Cynthia was able to incorporate all these things, and came up with a way to solve a floorpan issue that I never would have dreamt up. The kitchen and entry space that Cynthia design and oversaw functions really well for us on an every day basis, as well as when we host parties. The space is designed in a way that it comfortably allows many people to flow in and out of the space without it feeling cramped. Cynthia Hoffman was recommended to us by a neighbor who was very happy with her kitchen renovation. Following an in-depth meting to learn our needs and desires, Cynthia created a design to renovate an outdated kitchen and dining room, carve out a mud room area that never existed and fashion a yoga practice space, complete with storage. Having removed a wall between the kitchen and formal dining room, for the first time we had glorious light flowing from the front of the house to the back of the house. The resulting spaciousness seemed impossible to contemplate in the outdated space, but is now an ongoing joy. The formal dining room was only used occasionally for gatherings and seemed only to collect "stuff". The informal eating area was easily converted to an elegant but comfortable eating area. With the over-the-sink window enlarged our view of "nature in action" was magnified...so meditative while washing dishes, cooking and entertaining. An abundance of new storage now lines the walls, made possible by moving the door from the garage and reimagining the entire space. Working with Cynthia and her team was blessedly professional, with frequent communications to make mutual decisions or deal with minor setbacks. As our renovation took place during the height of the pandemic, we were challenged but comforted to work with a team that respected our need to prevent exposure. Although I depended on Cynthia's expertise, the starting and ending vision was mutually achieved, including tile and counter materials, floor stain, bar stool fabric, wall paint. The budget was discussed at every turn. All alterations to the design were our decision, fully. For example, it was recommended that we place a large mirror behind the reclaimed wood shelving in the newly located dining room, which reflected the backyard landscape. Even though the cost was extra, that singular upgrade, inviting the outside indoors gives such pleasure. No matter where anyone is sitting at the dining room table there is a view of nature. In summary, the overall signature of the renovated space is speciousness with beautiful sight lines, easy flow, natural light and comfort. It is, by design, the beating heart of the home.

Working with Cynthia and her phenomenal design team to bring my vision of a spa bathroom to life has been an incredibly rewarding experience. Inspired by a trip to Japan, my husband and I returned with a newfound love for everything Toto. Little did we know, the size of the Toto tub would require us to annex a former guest bedroom to create the perfect space. From the outset, Cynthia and her team were dedicated to understanding and incorporating our unique tastes and preferences. We wanted one room to have a more masculine feel for my husband, while the tub room exuded feminine luxury and what I like to call "razzle dazzle." Cynthia's ability to take a concept and transform it into a stunning reality never ceases to amaze me. Selections for every aspect of the project were made with meticulous attention to detail and a keen understanding of our desires. Cynthia kept my input at the forefront during the entire process, ensuring that the final design truly reflected our vision. This is the second time I've worked with Cynthia to decorate my home, the first being in the early 1980s and now, 40 years later, my tastes have evolved. Yet, Cynthia's ability to adapt and create timeless designs remains unparalleled. The collaborative efforts of Cynthia, Michael, and Donna, who each bring their unique strengths to the table, ensured that the project ran smoothly. They carefully scheduled each phase, coordinating with contractors and suppliers to maintain an efficient timeline. Their professionalism and dedication made the entire process not only seamless but also enjoyable. One vital lesson I learned through this journey is never to cut corners to decrease costs. Cynthia's designs are so exquisite that any deviation from her original plan would be a disservice to her vision. The end result is always worth the investment. Each project with Cynthia's team has been fun and personalized, making the entire experience delightful from start to finish. I am beyond happy with the outcome, and our new spa bathroom is a sanctuary that perfectly blends our design aspirations.

The task we brought to Cynthia and her team with our cape cod was not simple: open and remodel the original kitchen and dining areas, reimagine the powder room, and give the entire first floor a unified look and feel. Cynthia and her team were equal to the task. Whatever the complication (from the slope of the house necessitating custom toe-kicks for the cabinetry, to complications with mirror contractors for the spa-like powder room), she never faltered. Her professionalism and poise were remarkable. During the design process, she listened to our every idea and inspiration, working with us to refine them with her own contributions (like the sustainable marmoleum flooring throughout and gorgeous marbleized porcelain tile to perfectly complement the space). And even when we changed direction with the color scheme and tiling layout, she pivoted seemingly effortlessly. Every step of the way she kept us abreast of the schedule as she worked with her team to plan, install, and finish the project. Truly a homeowner's dream! The results speak for themselves. Form and function are both phenomenal: the kitchen looks amazing and is a delight to cook in. The flow and look of the space is wonderful. The passion and expertise Cynthia, Donna, and Michael brought to bear on our project was remarkable, and above what we had dared to hope for with our budget.

She redesigned our Main Bathroom and Lower Level Spa Bathroom as well as updating the Living Room, new carpeting throughout, adding cabinets in the Entry, wallcovering in the Foyer, exterior pergola and furniture. It really brought new life to the home and gave all the areas character. Very easy to work with, she and her contractors coordinated the schedule to accommodate our work schedules. They completed the bathroom remodel while we were on a trip to India which made for a great surprise to come home to! She’s not just interiors either. Cynthia provided resources for exterior landscaping that really tied together the overall aesthetic we were after. Cynthia knows her stuff. She doesn’t waste your time or money. Her contractors are skilled, polite, precise and on time. And you’ll end up with the house of your dreams! In an industry crowded with sub par reproductions and tired old ideas Cynthia Hoffman was a glimmering beacon of hope. With forty plus years of experience behind her she's at the top of her field. Brimming with creativity there wasn't an idea I had that she thought was too outrageous or wasn't able to pull off. ( i.e. the pink kitchen. Yes, she's reliable and professional and uncompromising when it comes to quality. She's also really kind and we had tons of fun together, an important quality when you're spending a year with someone!

We hired Cynthia because we had seen the work she had done for other family members and we loved what she designed for them. We wanted an updated, open space for our Kitchen and Dining Room which was built in the 60’s. She prepared 3-D renderings to illustrate how opening up the wall would give a much more spacious feel. Cynthia presented cabinet styles and layout, floor and backsplash tile, countertop and lighting options. The Dining Room design includes a build-in banquette. She also presented an update for our Powder Rom incorporating a sliding barn door to give space for a vanity. Several contractors met Cynthia at our house in order to prepare quotations for the work to be done. Cynthia did a great job taking into account our preferences and the design was exactly the look we wanted. We highly recommend her!
