Karen Davis of Davis Raines Design designed our entire medical office space. This included working with the architect to plan the entry way, three separate waiting areas, a front desk, five patient examination rooms, a chart room, three bathrooms, a lab, and private offices for three physicians. She created a space that is at once soothing, elegant and highly functional. We get compliments on our space every single day. Moreover, her design has held up in an active office over the past two years. She coordinated everything from lighting design to work flow to intimate office spaces. Karen was 100 percent accessible and delightful to work with. I have and would recommend her to design both personal professional space.

We bought our home knowing it was going to need updating in every room with major renovations to the kitchen and bathrooms. It was also going to need to be completely furnished and decorated. It was quite an undertaking and my husband and I knew we couldn’t do the design work by ourselves. We chose to work with Karen Davis from Davis Raines Design and are thrilled with our home. From the planning stages to implementation of design, Karen managed our project with professionalism and a clear understanding of our style. She understood exactly what we were looking for in our home and her design complimented our wishes. She coordinated with our contractor and other trades people to bring the visions of our home to reality. She worked on all facets of our project including bathroom and kitchen design, tile selection, lighting, vanities, flooring, built-in cabinetry, hardware, furniture, rugs, carpet, draperies, paint, artwork and many tiny details that make a home feel more inviting such as picture frames, books, decorative boxes, vases, even our dish-ware. Karen also stepped in and took over the project when our contractor suddenly passed during our renovations. It was a stressful time but Karen’s work never faltered and our house was finished with only a short delay. Thanks to Davis Raines Design we come home to a house that is functional, beautiful and feels like us.

Karen Davis provided outstanding design services for the 2 entertaining spaces in our 70s contemporary vacation home. Her vision for our home was spot on with our tastes, and she helped us to conceptualize a room that was challenging for us. Her ideas were tasteful, sophisticated, and original. Never did we feel that she was pushing too hard, rather she followed our lead and helped us to expand our ideas based on our own preferences. The finished product is spectular and has wowed our guests time and again. I recommend her to anyone in the area, as she has a true talent for design, especially color.

Karen Davis was a fantastic resource and inspiration for the work we needed to accomplish. She was instrumental across so many different aspects of our interiors from creating our color palette, selecting lighting options and window treatments to designing iron work in our kitchen. She was a pleasure to work with and have continued to work with Karen after the initial project.

Working with Davis Raines Design has been the first experience using an interior designer and it has been wonderful. The designs and suggestions have been right to my taste. In addition the pricing has been to budget. Projects have been well paced so that I have lived in the rooms and moved on to others. The design aesthetic is traditional and infusion of modern for a fresh, clean look for my home. And it is comfortable for an active family!

We hired Davis Raines to refresh the look/feel of the house we bought with furniture included. Karen Davis, the owner was the perfect resource. She had an overall vision of how the house could look and provided multiple options as to how to best achieve that. Working with the existing furniture (some of which she moved/rearranged/recovered) as well as interesting new pieces, fabrics and colors – Karen made our new house very much ours. Key to the success of our project was her combination of very strong design sense plus the ability to really listen to how we wanted to use the house and each room. And the execution was great, Karen worked with subs including electricians, contractors, upholsterers, refinishers and even the clock repair guy for an antique clock she found and fixed for us. I would recommend Davis Raines for any project, large or small. The quality of the work is impressive and individualized, and Karen is a pleasure to work with.

Davis Raines Design handled the entire refurbishment of my West Village Duplex from pre-construction to the final tableware. Through what can be a very stressful process Davis Raines Design made it both manageable and enjoyable. Karen's knowledge, professionalism, and ability to work with contractors/sub-contractors was extremely impressive . She stuck to budget, listened to my likes and dislikes, and I could not be happier with the finished product. Karen's experience and expertise working with colors/fabrics/tiles/fixtures/textures/art/design created a home that is welcoming, refined, sophisticated, and extremely comfortable. Karen was also able to use her extensive network to source the construction of a staircase/closets/kitchen island/cabinets/glass installation. I would not consider using anyone else for any of my future projects and I could not give a higher recommendation.
