We did a virtual design consultation with Jena at Delphinium Design as we prepare to do a kitchen remodel. It was the most productive hour ever. Jena was amazing at walking us through the pros and cons of all of the ideas we brought to the table. She is a wealth of information on materials, styles, trends, vendors, contractors, and more. She is clearly an expert in her field and enjoys helping people achieve their design goals. We feel so much more prepared for this project than we did before the consultation. I would highly recommend working with her and will be back again for any of our own future remodeling projects.

Masters of Style and Collaboration My husband and I had the great pleasure of working with the Delphinium Design team of Jena Bula (Principal Designer and Owner) and Darby McGee (Associate Designer) on a remodel of our primary bathroom and closet, and we are so very happy with the results. We had a great experience working with Delphinium Design – they helped us remodel 3 bathrooms in our home. Both Jena and Darby were very organized and helped simplify the process the whole way through which was important because we do not have a lot of experience with home remodels. Their expertise included listening to our needs and then providing different options and sourcing all materials. This saved us a ton of time than if we attempted this on our own and their results are far superior. They also worked closely with the contractor to ensure everything was implemented correctly. From the initial visit Jena was very organized and able to explain the design process and cost. My project was new construction and Jena coordinated with the builder and sent regular communications so that I knew exactly when things were being installed or if there were decisions I needed to make. Jena and Darby designed and managed the renovations on our Master Bathroom, Basement Kitchen, Main Kitchen and Family Room. They did such a beautiful job. We are so happy with the finished product in all of these rooms. Jena and Darby were involved in all aspects of the renovation which was such a help. Their expertise was invaluable. Jena of Delphinium Design is SO talented! I like to think I know a fair bit about design but upon our consultation she proved just how much of an expert she is. There were so many things I never even realized went into selections for a new build. (Choosing which metals to mix, color pairings, even considering how slippery the tile would be in a child’s bathroom) I really appreciate her honesty and attention to detail. I used Jena for her virtual consult services during our full gut kitchen renovation. Initially I sought out her full design services but due to scheduling she was unable to take me on. That is when she offered me the virtual design consultation service and it did not disappoint. This is the perfect service for anyone who is new to renovation/design, is just really busy with life, or just needs a sounding board to bounce ideas off of. After our initial meeting she had me create a Pinterest board with inspiration of the look I was going for. Then from that she created a customized list of recommendations. For me I needed help more with pros and cons of the different options (soapstone vs quartzite), grout recommendations, pendant lighting details, best places to shop, etc. We met again to discuss everything, she answered all my questions, and sent me a detailed document of everything we discussed. She was then available for many frantic emails thereafter :) If you are on the fence if you need design/renovation consultation, trust me...you do!

I've never worked with a designer before and hadn't touched my kitchen in 20 years, but my virtual design consult with Jena was the first and best decision I made in renovating my kitchen after some water damage. I wasn't changing the floorplan, but I knew I needed guidance in getting the look right and Jena is so creative and detailed. The zoom meeting was easy and, actually, fun! We reviewed Pinterest boards I'd sent her and I was impressed by how well-prepared she was, with innovative storage and design ideas. She really listens. And the next day, Jena sent a recap of our session along with a list of local vendors and contacts that was invaluable. It was a pleasure to work with such a talented designer and I really appreciate her expertise. You will too.

We moved into our house two years ago; it was a 19 year old house that hadn’t been updated and we knew when we purchased it that we would be the owners to tackle updating the house. Our kitchen the first area to tackle but it was such a big project because the kitchen cabinets also were in the living room and the sunroom and the downstairs bathroom. I knew that this project was going to be above and beyond my skill and knowledge level, so we began interviewing designers. We met with designers from large firms, met with sales people who wanted us to sign contracts without meeting their designers, met designers who acted like they were doing us a favor by gracing our home with their presence and then met Jena. Jena explained her process and team during our first meeting; the amount of ownership she took of picking the teams she works with, with her design process and the project as a whole really made me feel more comfortable then many of the other designers. During our second meeting Jena brought in Avery and the two of them made such an amazing team we could not see any other option but to entrust them with redoing our kitchen, living room and sunroom. The design process with Jena was amazing! She listened to what I wanted, offered suggestions subtly and really knew products and how best to make the space for us. After working out the design for a complete kitchen overhaul the day for the demo came. I was prepared for the worst after hearing horror stories from friends over what was involved with a complete renovation. After the first day we were an empty kitchen stripped down to the studs and then had the most amazingly seamless low stress kitchen, living room, sunroom renovation imaginable. Our kitchen cabinets were delayed by two weeks, but it wasn’t a problem because Jena and Avery worked together so well that they shuffled around the schedule and kept the project moving forward. Then the world was hit with COVID-19 but everyone adjusted, kept social distancing, stayed safe and kept the project right on track! Jena worked tirelessly behind the scenes handling all the stress and hurdles, so I didn’t have to worry, stress, or juggle schedules. We have been in the kitchen for a few weeks now and still cannot imagine that this is our home now. Jena designed and had a beautiful bar custom built that fit my husbands bourbon collection, she came up with ideas and appliances that made our kitchen the most amazingly easy space to cook and be a family in, she made a built-ins move from the 90’s to present day with a lovely design and beautiful colors, she found rugs for rooms that I couldn’t figure out the size or colors, she took a over the top mantel into a streamline beautiful piece that gets attention due to it’s beauty and not for it’s size. The attention to detail and the way Jena presented options and ideas made this an amazing process and I cannot wait to see what magic she works on our master bathroom.

I worked with Jena recently who provided us with a virtual design consult for our master bathroom remodel. I was very impressed with her professionalism and quick response. Jena Bula and Delphinium Design did an excellent job on our master bath and guest bathroom remodel. Jena is meticulous, professional, detailed oriented, and a pleasure to work with. She took time to get to know us and get a feel for what we wanted in our master bath remodel. We worked closely on picking out the amenities for the project. Thank goodness for Jena! We came home New Years Day in 2018 to a burst frozen water pipe in the ceiling which destroyed our kitchen. The process of a renovation would have been overwhelming if not for Jena patiently listening to our ideas and expanding on them with her expertise to come up with a plan to build our dream kitchen. She understands the construction process and does a great job managing our needs as well as the clients. She is super detail oriented but also appreciates the bigger picture.
