I’ve been working with Hellen and Majo from the Design Loft for a 1 bed, 1 bath addition for a single family residence. My friend had referred me to Design Loft since he had hired Hellen and her team for an extensive home remodel and extension. Hellen and Majo have completed the design and planning phase of the project. We just submitted our plans for the city to review and grant the permit. Design Loft has been clutch in guiding my kitchen and powder bath refresh. I knew I wanted something new but had no idea where to start. Lauren picked up on what I was after right away, and made sense of the overwhelming options of stone slabs for the counters and tile for the backsplash to narrow my choices down to a wonderful combination. It's been a fun and interesting journey to my beautiful new rooms. I really appreciate their willingness to participate in as much or little as I want changed.

We worked with Hellen and her team for helping us design the interiors of our home that involved both renovating and adding a new family room and primary suite. Hellen gave us a very interesting idea to change the layout of our old kitchen island to maximize the square footage and give us a new island that is 3 times the size of the old one. She made visits both to our home and to tile showrooms with us to pick the finishes that aligned with our aesthetics best. The new primary bathroom has come out beautiful thanks to her! In addition, she also helped us envision the exterior paint colors so the outside could match the design style of the updated interiors. Hellen, Pauline and Lauren helped me design a master suite and 2 guest bathrooms with some extra. This is my first house and first remodeling project, so everything is new to me. Folks from Design Loft company helped me go over every detail from the initial design phase all the way to the actual construction (Hellen and her colleagues visited the construction site several times to provide advises and help resolving problem) and I think those small details will really lead to an excellent final result. We’re doing a contemporary full house remodel of our 1960’s ranch house and hired Hellen after interviewing several designers and architects. Hellen Hsieh at Design Loft helped us with a primary bathroom remodel project. Hellen was fantastic throughout the process. She came and saw the space, talked to us to understand what we were looking for and put together multiple options. All of them were very much aligned with what we were looking for and it was not easy to pick one! She then worked with us to identify and pick out each detail, do a 3D rendering to fully visualize the space so that we were 100% comfortable in moving ahead. She helped us connect with the structural engineer and helped us build the detailed plans so that we were able to get permits done quickly. With the pandemic, our project was delayed by almost a year - Hellen was patient and jumped back into execution as soon as we were able to move ahead with the permits. I can confidently say that without Hellen, we would not be able to get the primary bathroom we dreamed of implemented so impeccably. Highly recommend the team at Design Loft!

We hired Hellen for the interior design of our new home construction project. From the very first meeting, Hellen had provided invaluable inputs that prompted couple changes to the floor plan design which we wouldn't have thought of otherwise. Throughout the elevation design phase, Hellen and her team listened well and responded to our needs and remained flexible. We built a ground-up home together for a client in Palo Alto which had 15 to 17 feet high ceilings in the kitchen and living space. We had the best experience with Hellen and her team. They really helped bring our dream bathrooms to fruition. I didn't know where to begin on making tile and design decisions. Hellen and her team at Design Loft helped us with the planning and design to rebuild and expand our all-original circa-1950s 2 bed/2 bath ranch tract home. Instead of closed up dark spaces, we now have a beautiful bright house that flows, large kitchen with center island, additional office/bedroom, unique powder room, and expanded floorplan to include a master suite. Design Loft helped us with the design and architectural drawings, They brought in resources, as needed, for structural drawings, energy calculations, and getting the plans approved. When our original cabinet manufacturer became a casualty of COVID, they helped us find an alternate within the same budget and redrew the plans. When we had issues with the cabinets, they worked with the distributor to resolve the issues at no extra cost to us. Hellen was always available to consult with our contractor throughout the project. Hellen has a wonderful patient demeanor, invaluable to saving stress, time, and money for a large project such as ours. Especially invaluable was Hellen’s design expertise, providing options, all while keeping to our budget and taste. She helped us with everything: color, tile, floors, cabinet, countertop, hardware, plumbing fixture, lighting, doors, moulding, finishes, etc. We came to absolutely trust Hellen’s judgement and advice. Our house is now completely transformed and better than what we envisioned, one that is modern, practical, and unique.

I worked with Hellen and Majo to design the remodel of the master bathroom of my condominium in Sunnyvale. They were very helpful in suggesting things I hadn't considered, like turning my French doors into a pocket door to save space. They also suggested brands and suppliers I had not found by on-line searches, which led me to a custom vanity and far more interesting fixtures than I would have found on my own. The most important thing they did for me was to prepare all the drawings and information I needed to get a permit from the city on the first try. Hellen has been of tremendous help for us with our home decoration. We hired her to help us with space planning and furnishing a 3200 sq ft 5 BR/4.5 bath home. To make things worse - I was leaving town for a month and needed the house furnished soon after I returned as we had a holiday party. Hellen rallied with my husband to help us achieve the deadline. She knew all the right retail stores that would meet our deadline and went shopping with my husband to shortlist options that I could review remotely. The remote situation wasn't easy but I think Hellen was extremely patient with it and was always available online if I had any questions. Our decoration work is still ongoing, but I am very impressed with Hellen. We needed our entire 50 year-old tract home remodeled. The former family room had a fireplace right where I wanted a picture window to be for a large kitchen. The house had three step-down rooms that were concrete slab-on-grade, that had insulation/dampness problems during the rainy season. By framing up and insulating those areas, and by adding a mere 140 square feet of foundation to the home, Hellen was able to design a completely new open, modern living space with 9' ceilings and engineered hardwood throughout. Hellen is a licensed cabinetry dealer, and she can provide them in a wide variety of styles and prices. She helped us select a good quality, overlay door style that helped make our beautiful kitchen the focal point of out entirely new custom home. One of Hellen's many talents is being able to guide you and give good advice, while being open to your requirements and ideas. She is a talented, versatile designer you will be glad to have working for you.

After a 2014 fire, our house needed extensive repairs. Fortunately, Hellen at Design Loft made the planning easy and the result an amazing transformation from a 60’s tract house to an open layout that feels bigger and looks entirely new. Her expertise with cabinetry gave us a custom kitchen with loads of storage, and bathrooms that are as beautiful as they are functional. Through it all, she made great suggestions, while respecting our ideas as well. When problems arose during installation, she was quick to get a missing part or to adapt the design to changing circumstances. I always felt she cared as much about the results as we did, and that kind of confidence goes a long way to relieve the stress that often accompanies such major projects. Our 55-year-old kitchen was in dire need of remodeling, but we had gotten bogged down for more than a year in the excess of options (cabinets, tiles, flooring, etc.) and lack of a clear plan. Hellen did a site visit, asked about our kitchen-use habits and kitchen wish-list, and came up with three designs that not only made the most of our galley space but expanded it by adding customized cupboards below a large window. She solved our cabinet dilemma in ten minutes with the suggestion of the perfect wood finish and door design; recommended a line of quartz composite countertops we hadn't known about and decided to use; and gave prompt advice about details such as tiles, sink size, and under-cabinet lighting. Her ability to reimagine the layout of space, knowledge of available products, and attention to client needs make her easy and delightful to work with.

We hired designer Hellen Hsieh when we decided to remodel our kitchen. Hellen provided us with a great design that matched our contemporary style. She worked also recommended the custom cabinet manufacturer and dealt with them directly to get our cabinets; this wasn't an easy task as not only were our cabinets custom but so were our appliances. She also helped us with additional ideas on other changes in the house, which included paint colors throughout the different rooms in the house, and a layout design for our family room. Hellen was very easy to work with; she was thorough with all of her deliverables and gave us ideas on variations of things we wanted.

Hellen designed our kitchen and ordered the cabinetry. Also, prepared drawings for the bathrooms and a a drawing for a loft conversion to a bedroom. She helped with paint colors, tile, etc. Hellen is a true professional, it was a real pleasure to work with her. She was always on time, always prepared and available on a short notice whenever we needed her. She often went the extra mile to offer help with some parts of the project that weren't a part of the contract. I wold highly recommend Hellen. You will have a peace of mind working with her.

Hellen at Design Loft designed two bathrooms and a kitchen for our home. She is exceptionally talented and prides herself on "not repeating the same design twice", which leads to a one-of-a-kind final project for the client. During the kitchen design, she took into account our need for lots of storage and our love for gourmet cooking . She was willing and confident enough to think out of the box when it came to the traditional kitchen triangle. She placed the refrigerator out of the recommended parameters in order to accommodate the traffic flow of four teenagers constantly opening the unit. This decision was one of the best! Also, Hellen designed a five foot run of countertop at a 42" height, which is ergonomically superior for a very tall family. Hellen is creative and up -to -date on all the current trends and projects. She takes into account budgetary constraints, has a wonderful demeanor, and works seamlessly with contractors. We are currently working with Hellen on a master bath design.

Helen gets 5 stars from me. She designed my kitchen while working for another company. Her design turned out great. However, halfway through my project, the company went out of business and just dropped me, leaving me with the most important part of the installation to do and so many details. Even though Helen had moved on, she continued to help me with my project, was here whenever I had a problem and saw it through to the end, on her own time, with no extra charge to me. Helen was so empathetic; every time she arrived at my home to resolve an issue for me, she would assure me she would be available until the project was completed. This alleviated my stress level considerably. Helen always returned my phone calls and was very professional at all times when she dealt with me or anyone else involved in my project. I have seen some of Helen's bathroom and kitchen designs and can attest she is a top notch designer, with attention to detail. 5 stars are not enough for her and she would be my number 1 choice for any kitchen or bathroom design in the future.

She did a complete design for us when we have our house in Los Altos renovated recently. She helped us pick out paint colours throughout the whole house from exterior to interior. She designed a new kitchen for us including laying out all the cabinets and appliances. She did a very unique island for us. She added sky lights to our architectural drawings, picked out tiles and fixtures for us in the powder room and other bathrooms. In addition, she's very generous in offering her advices to her clients. Again, we are very pleased with her work.

Hellen was the designer for our home improvement project in 2008. She was very helpful throughout the process, helping to pick out paint colors, hardwood flooring, tiles and furniture that complemented our Mediterranean style house and contemporary taste. She worked with our contractor to ensure everything goes smoothly, which enabled us to have our house warming/Thanksgiving party in time. She was able to get discounts for our custom cabinetry and she passed on the savings to us. All in all, I think the value of using a designer is that she saved us time, stress and money, which more than justify the cost of her service. We love our house and everyone who have visited us paid us compliments. Hellen has won awards in bathroom designs and we definitely will use her service in our upcoming bathroom remodel.

We hired Hellen Hsieh, the owner of Design Loft Company, to design our 725 sq ft great room addition. We are so incredibly thrilled with the completed project, it is exactly what we had envisioned. Our existing house was a 1200 sq ft 3 bedroom, 2 bath home. The kitchen and living area was very modest. With two teenagers at home, we needed to expand and wanted more room to entertain. When we started the project we were uncertain if we should knock down walls and remodel the current floor plan and add a small addition or keep the footprint of the existing house exactly the same and add on one large great room. We decided to do the later, however, to get to this point, we went through several different renderings. Hellen provided us with many great options and helped us decide what would be the most economical and feasible plan. She was flexible, patient and was great about pointing out the pros and cons of each option. Her interactions with our architect , contractor and cabinet supplier went very smoothly which helped us to meet specific deadlines. Hellen was maticulous when it came to the kitchen cabinets and made sure everything was ordered properly and our custom stain came out exactly how we wanted. As a designer, she is very creative and knowledgeable. She understood the style and feel we were after. More importantly she was very conscious and respectful of our monetary constraints which helped us complete our entire project within budget. What impressed us most was her understanding of the build process: from the contractors needs, the city requirements, realistic costs and time estimates, appliance installation prerequisites and inspection requirements. We couldn't be more pleased with Design Loft and Hellen's professionalism.
