Designer's Touch

We are really thankful as Mariette did an outstanding job. She perfectly captured our vision of a bright, warm, and welcoming interior. The atmosphere is now exactly what we hoped for - a truly cozy and inviting litte heaven. Mariette has a keen design sense and understood our desires very well. That resulted in spaces that are both beautiful and functional. We have already recommender Mariette for a friend's renovation project.

Mariette is the ultimate professional - superbly and effortlessly talented, endlessly patient with clients (us) who would ask for revision after revision after revision of the design for our kitchen, very responsive even with the most mundane queries. We really cannot imagine how we could have found a better designer - even after we did our own innumerable hours of research and thought that we knew a lot about kitchen design, Mariette showed us that we only learned the fragmented basics, and that there is so much more to it. She spent so much time over multiple discussions with us about our values and concepts and actual day-to-day workflow, incorporating these into the design which was coordinated with the contractor, and both of them kept refining this as we kept changing our minds about various issues. Her knowledge of the region’s and country’s suppliers seemed inexhaustible as we sought that elusive perfect marble countertop, range hood, etc, etc. As the physical renovation was ongoing she would visit constantly. Our forever kitchen is nothing short of spectacular in our eyes and hearts.

I highly recommend Designer's Touch. Mariette is professional, creative and patient. She has done several rooms for me now including the kitchen, living/dining room and master bedroom. She listened to what I wanted to do with my space and developed two designs for each space for me to choose from. She uses software that really shows how the designs will look in your space so you can visualize it before proceeding. I'm amazed at how close the final kitchen design looks like her original pictures. I love the finished rooms!! She worked with me every step of the way making sure everything turned out perfect. She answered all of the contractor's questions and helped problem solve any issues during construction. I've worked with a couple of other designers on other homes that we have owned and they didn't come close to the professionalism of Designer's Touch. She is now working with me on a bathroom and I can't wait to see the final product.

We hired Mariette of Designer's Touch to help us with the decor for a new addition to our home. Upon visiting our home and getting a sense of our taste and style, she provided a beautiful 3D presentation complete with mood boards. All of her options were stunning. We chose our favorite and Mariette handled everything for us including many visits to our house to inspect the items and placement. What I didn't expect, but was delighted with, was that she also worked directly with our builder to ensure that all of the building details were perfect. Her knowledge base is extensive and she is a delight to work with. Our new space is a dream room that turned out beyond my expectations.

Mariette did an amazing job with our open plan living room/dining room/kitchen and master bedroom. She is highly responsive, professional and detail oriented. Despite supply chain issues due to the pandemic she managed to put together a beautiful designs working with what was available and in stock. Perhaps what stands out the most is how she chose and placed artwork in ways I would not have considered. She really brings an energy and heart to the her designs, we will definitely be using her services again.

I have now worked with Mariette on multiple projects: three bathrooms, (renovation of two, and the new creation of another); a large walk in closet; the complete redesign of a living room and dining room, and the design and construction of a home office. Mariette’s designs are unique and beautiful, taking into account the existing home style, and homeowner’s taste. She works efficiently, is very responsive to communication, and is highly organized, so that projects continue to move along. She does not waste any time. Mariette’s talent is not only in design, but also in coordinating with other professionals, even among challenging personalities - a valuable skill. Most importantly, I found working with Mariette so enjoyable. She has a lovely sense of humor, which is useful during long projects which inevitably run into unexpected difficulty. I recommend her without reservation. Indeed, all the friends who have seen the renovations in my home have asked for her information.

We downsized to a new condominium and needed help decorating an open concept family room/kitchen/dining room, incorporating some existing furniture. We hired Mariette and she created a beautiful plan we could execute, including lighting, curtains, area rugs and a few fill-in pieces of furniture. Now our 30+ year old dining room table looks brand new accompanied by the chairs she recommended. The whole space is pulled together with stunning drapery and curtain panels across the room. She oversaw the whole drapery project with the vendor, helping to select fabric and hardware that never would have occurred to me. Mariette is a pleasure to work with. She is flexible, talented and meticulous. And she never veered from the budget. If I had more design projects, I would hire her again without hesitation.

Mariette really is a breath of fresh air! Whether you are looking for help with that one big project or you simply don’t know where to start with all the little odd jobs around the house, Mariette has the enthusiasm and expertise for both. The world of interior design can be intimidating but Mariette took the time to get to know what we liked without patronizing us and without making our home look generic. I love that she worked to enhance what we already have, rather than barging in and demanding that everything must go. Recently she helped us put together a new home office for my husband, After noticing his collection of vintage cameras she suggested we mount all of them on one wall. They look amazing. She has an impeccable eye and has no problem finding just the right piece, be it from Target or a top designer. She is careful with your budget but boundless with her creativity. She pushed me, surprised me but never scared me. Mariette replies to my giddy requests immediately, she is patient when my initial excitable choices change completely to be more in line with budget or practicality and will always bring me back to the overall vision. I can’t recommend her highly enough. If you’re looking for someone to tackle your big project design or hold your hand as you gently work through those smaller jobs Mariette’s vision and fresh approach will help to clear away any fog of indecision! And the final result is always a delight!

My husband and I contacted Mariette to help us create an office/library in our house. We have hundreds of books that were essentially all over the house. We had some shelves already installed and furniture. Mariette came in and created an absolutely gorgeous design, then oversaw work by the contractor. Our experience far exceeded our expectations. We didn’t want to buy new furniture so she created and amended the plan around what we had. Mariette is always quick to respond and listened to all of our concerns. She also adds that last design touch to create a sophisticated, polished look. We will absolutely use Mariette in the future for our other projects.

Mariette is a one of a kind designer, artist, and most importantly person. We bought a home in Westport that we we were completely overwhelmed with the renovation process. Mrs. Hedeshian was all you could hope for in a designer! She takes on the project and puts in heart and soul. Accomplishing the results and vision you agreed upon is her only focus. The time and effort she puts into her work cannot be compensated fully. This is a labor of love!! Our restaurant’s vision started with a picture of some colorful tiles and we ended up, through Mrs. Hedeshian’s vision, with an atmosphere and a class second to none in the area. In the midst of the pandemic Mariette Hedeshian of Designer’s Touch helped tranform our house in a record 5 weeks. Her decisions on new lighting and wall colors, and most importantly, her vision for an economical but complete trasformation of our kitchen resulted in multiple offers on our house well beyond our asking price. We could not have been happier with the professionalism, good nature and reasonable prices of the contractors she selected to replace our kitchen counter tops, repaint our cabinets, and refinish our floors. We recently remodeled our kitchen/great room and had no idea what direction we wanted to go, mostly because I had spent so much time searching the internet for inspiration. I had become completely overwhelmed. Mariette met with us, measured our rooms, took pictures and immediately started working on ideas. At first, I wasn’t sure about some of her suggestions, but I kept an open mind and soon realized she knew me better than I knew myself. We recently used Designer's Touch on a project involving most of our first floor, including the kitchen and bathroom, as well as two bathrooms upstairs. Our experience could not have been better. My husband and I are absolutely delighted with Mariette's work! There is so much to say...all superlatives...but I will attempt to provide a summary that may be helpful to those trying to decide on whether to hire Mariette of Designer's Touch. I completely and unequivocally recommend Mariette for her expertise, her professionalism, her keen eye for design, color, proportion, and the depth and breadth of her knowledge about design and interior architecture. I was initially overwhelmed with the number of choices we had to make for our extensive renovation and am convinced if I had done it alone, we would have ended up with a hodge lodge of design ideas that would have been much more expensive and much less coherent than with Mariette's help. We ended up with a gorgeous home that feels luxurious and comfortable. Mariette took me by the hand and helped me find the best places for tile, bathroom fixtures, kitchen cabinets, kitchen and bathroom counters, wallpaper, furniture, and on and on. She is respectful of budget concerns and while she has access to all the high end fancy-schmancy design places, she is also a smart shopper who can find incredible bargains that are just the right addition to any space. It's important to note that in addition to being a highly accomplished interior designer, Mariette is ALSO an interior architect. This means she has the training, education and expertise to handle almost any decorating or renovation challenge. For example, our reno required us to downsize and we needed to find a space for our large TV. We didn't want it to be the centerpiece of our living room so Mariette designed a fabulous built-in that includes bookshelves, cabinets and a hiding place for the TV. The TV now resides behind a sliding panel on which we have hung a painting. We can slide the panel to reveal the TV or slide it back to hide it. Magic! She created all the expert drawings for this. I was befuddled in trying to fit my old furniture into our new space until Mariette came along and immediately solved the problem. Move the sofa here, the cabinet there and...voila! A perfect arrangement that makes sense and looks lovely. What an eye she has! i might add that working with Mariette is fun! She is a lovely woman with a delightful sense of humor who is respectful of my wishes and can gently insert her own ideas. I will miss seeing Mariette now that our work is almost over. I recently referred a friend to work with Mariette who also sings her praises and told me many times how Mariette has "saved my life!" You will not regret working with Mariette. Do it! Now!

Mariette joined our project at the end of initial construction to provide interior design advice and detail. Working closely with the clients and our building team she provided excellent overall co-ordination of finish materials (including colors, tiles, fixtures, and built-ins). She understands and respects architectural intentions, and listens well before developing solutions. She has extensive knowledge of materials, and is attentive to budget limitations. Her professional advice and elegant design solutions are an integral part of the project's success. I look forward to working with her again !!

My wife and I retained services of Designer's touch to renovate our master bedroom, master bath and main bathroom. Mariette showed us various plans with the layout of the room for us to select from and then we got a lot of help with selection of tiles, fixtures, counter top, color, furniture etc. She also helped with selection and management of the contractor for our project and she visited the construction site very often to monitor progress and ensure that every detail in the plan is being built correctly by contractors and sub-contractors. We enjoyed working with Mariette and she transformed my vintage bedroom and bathrooms into a high end luxury hotel suite. She was able to understand our taste and gave us a very practical and timeless design that we can enjoy for years to come.
