The Founder of Designs West, Stephanie Malsed has over 28 years experience providing Interior Design services. Stephanie's extensive architectural background allows her to successfully work with Architects & Contractors from preliminary planning through final construction, assuring the interiors are fully integrated with the architecture. At Designs West we believe in creating an environment that is an expression of the end user. Overly Construction, Inc.

Designs West provided interior design services for a high end custom home I built in Telluride, CO. They were detailed in providing construction documentation. They were thoughtful and considerate in analyzing choices in respect to overall design and cost. Designs West was also very prompt in replying to questions.

I have had the pleasure to work with Designs West over the past five years. Our projects have ranged from an interior remodel of a 2 bedroom/2 bath condo to a kitchen and bath remodel of our 3 bedroom/2 bath house. Designs West provided detailed drawings and informative spec sheets on lighting, fixtures and furnishings. Designs West was always courteous, professional, insightful and prompt.

Stephanie has been very helpful with two large renovation projects in 2006 and 2008. She is very knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with. She was always open to my ideas, and extremely responsive. She worked well with the contractors on both projects and is very detail-oriented. One project unexpectedly became much larger than anticipated, and Stephanie was able to adjust accordingly, and was instrumental in getting things ready for our arrival after a move across the country with three young children in tow. It was an incredibly stressful time, and Stephanie made a huge difference!

I was referred to Stephanie through my Real Estate Broker and I was ready to go and work fast to get the condo totally rehabbed. After meeting with Stephanie once I was sure she would be perfect to work with. Her professional and kind manner was a good fit. She came back the next day with many types of fabulous samples and I liked almost all of them! We were on our way to getting the job done quickly. She is very responsible with taking care of getting product in and working with the subcontractors to make sure things are installed properly. You won't go wrong working with Stephanie, she is first class!

Stephanie refurnished our ski condo in Colorado. She had very good ideas and her taste in furniture and furnishings was excellent and in accord with our ideas. She quarterbacked the entire process which was essential since we were at home in Chicago for most of the time. She was very responsive to our inquiries and a self starter in coming up with many ideas for improvement which we had not thought of. Her charges were expensive but reasonable given the responsibility she had to complete the project in a timely fashion. We certainly would recommend Stephanie to our friends for any future projects.

She listens well and is able to focus on what the client is really looking for in new construction and in remodels. I find her abilities with color to be outstanding. Stephanie Malsed guided us through design and furnishing a custom home in Telluride, Colorado. Aside from her exquisite taste, organizational skill and good humor, perhaps her most valuable asset is her hearing. She listened to our concerns and desires and sometimes gently nudged us a bit out of our comfort zone in order to give the new house its due. She worked with the architect and builder all along the way and was always respectful of their needs, but never lost sight of the overall experience for us, the homeowners.
