My husband and I were looking for a design professional to assist us with selecting paint colors for our home. We were planning to repaint the entirety of our home. Dennis listened to what we were trying to achieve and was very helpful in providing us a color palette. We have had the painting done and are very happy with the color selections. He worked to find colors that would coordinate with flooring and counters which was a wonderful bonus. I highly recommend Dennis for your design needs.

After weeks of considering countless color and material combinations we called df design. It was the best thing we could have done. Dennis has such a gift with all of this and within just one consultation we came to a top-down exterior plan for our house remodel. We can’t recommend him highly enough. My house is 27 years old and needed painting. While I know when something aesthetically appeals to me alas I have no inherent artistic talent at design. Nonetheless I was very particular about what colors to paint the exterior of my home. Additionally as I was in no rush I’d spent a couple years looking for a quality painter I felt comfortable with. Having accomplished that task I searched for a design consultant. After talking with 3 companies I found DF Designs and ended up using Dennis. I depended on Dennis’s suggestions throughout the project which I witnessed for the 5 days it took to complete. In short, the result was magnificent. Not only were the colors schemes great but following Dennis’s suggestions to the letter turned out to be well advised as described in the following: And so the entire house had been painted save the window trim boards, shutters and front entryway. It looked spectacular. Living in the northern suburbs of Chicago in what my youngest disdainfully refers to as a “McMansion”, a predominant color scheme seems to be early 19th century farmhouse - paint window and door trim white! But Dennis suggested painting the trim boards the same dark gray color as the siding rendering them effectively part of the siding; and the shutters and front entryway a beautiful black. White was reserved solely for the house trim. Clearly these were revolutionary ideas so, being a true child of the 60’s, they appealed to me. That (and having paid for the advice) I said damn the torpedoes full speed ahead!! Follow Dennis’s instructions to the letter!! I followed Dennis’s recommendations and the result was astonishing. Extremely happy with our design consultation. Didn’t know what paint colors to choose but knew we wanted contemporary design. I wanted contemporary colors while my wife wanted to be conservative and we both got we wanted with the use of accent walls being more colorful. Also got great advice to modernize our lighting and cabinet hardware. I recommend having Dennis assist with any interior decorating needs.

Dennis was a pleasure to work with and he resolved my color choice problem! He worked with my ideas to develop a wonderful color theme for my condo including suggestions for other design ideas such as flooring, casing, and backsplash. Very happy with the results and I learned a lot.

We highly recommend df design – Dennis is very professional and patient. We engaged Dennis for an exterior color consultation on our home exterior project. We discussed what we wanted and the concerns we had. He spent a considerable amount of time looking at the house, the outdoor lighting effects on color (and undertone effects), and feel of the neighborhood. He considered all aspects of the exterior – front walkway/entry, entry doors, outdoor lighting, landscaping, and deck. He not only recommended color choices, he recommended style choices (at our request), and provided thorough explanations to our questions. Additionally, his response time to follow-up questions was extremely fast. Dennis went above and beyond! After two years in our home, we were ready to paint and make it our own. I found I was overwhelmed by color choices. Dennis did a two hour 'Color Consult' with us in our home. He interviewed us, asking important questions and actually listening to the answers. He spent time in each room looking a current colors, lighting, and other details. He shared his observations, asked for clarification, offered several suggestions and choices. We walked each room with him as he shared the colors we had selected. We have a color pallet! Dennis is professional, personable, efficient and so knowledgeable. I have color samples (actual paint chips) for each room and a color pallet that will serve me well for years to come. I have now moved from being overwhelmed by paint samples to interviewing two painters! Great investment in your home and yourself!

From the first meeting we knew that DF Design and Shardon Builders were the perfect team for our kitchen makeover. Attention to detail and consideration of customer satisfaction was addressed on a daily basis. Project timeliness was practically flawless through demolition, pandemic, holidays and bad weather. The early estimate of 7-8 weeks to completion was on target and the results could not have made us happier. We cannot thank Dennis, Tony, and their crew of skilled craftsmen enough.

With so many ideas swirling around in my head for my new master bathroom, I asked Dennis to sort things out for me! We did a FaceTime consult which turned out great, and Christine followed up with a written version of his recommendations. I showed him the tile I purchased from Floor & Decor for the walls and floor, and my cabinet and countertop samples. I needed advice on wall color and lighting especially. Dennis recommended the colors and special paints to use when painting a bathroom, and the lighting turned out great! All in all, Dennis helped me avoid some costly mistakes, and we are loving our new bathroom!

Highly recommended! We engaged DF Design Inc. for paint color selections in preparation for our home’s exterior to be repainted. With Dennis’ expertise, all elements were considered such as existing natural surroundings, landscaping, colors in brick and stone along with our desire to elevate our home’s overall appearance. All of his recommendations for paints, colors and sheens were used resulting in our great satisfaction!

My wife and I purchased our retirement home in 2017. We wanted to customize it to our style. The problem we encountered was selecting an exterior paint color to compliment the multi-color reddish brick which was on the lower half of the house. Dennis was selected to assist us with the extensive painting project. He was most attentive to our concerns regarding the house color and complimentary trim and accent colors. After surveying the house Dennis suggested a couple paint color combinations. His insightful approach made it easy to make a final decision. We have received numerous compliments from neighbors, family and friends. We are exceptionally pleased with the final results and would highly recommend Dennis for any paint color selection assistance you may need.

I hired DF Design for a virtual consult on flooring and painting colors. They were extremely professional and helpful during my consult and helped me stay on task and not get distracted in 100 different directions. This made the focus very narrowed and we were able to make color decisions together effectively so that I could start the process of my remodel. Will definitely use them again. Would have given 5 stars if in person, but nothing to do with their services. Just a bit more of a challenge.
