About Us

Deborah DiMare is an accomplished wellness & ethical design expert, luxury interior decorator, author, speaker and global influencer for the healthy driven & ethical design movement. Deborah founded the ultra-luxury interior design firm, DiMare Design, nearly 20 years ago. Her projects are focused on creating healthy, mentally & physically positive environments with purpose. Deborah uses materials & furnishings that are ethical, sustainable, less toxic & that promote wellbeing. Searching for ways to make her premier, award-winning luxury work even more unique and meaningful, Deborah began combining textures, scents and colors to create optimal wellness environments. She incorporates Design Therapy on all her projects. Benefits range from stress relief and increased optimism, to providing a peaceful milieu for people with particular needs, like children with Autism. Her knowledge and passion in ethical & wellness design led to the creation of CertifiedCrueltyFree.Net, an online global community whose mission is bringing awareness and education to others about wellbeing & cruelty free design. Deborah’s courses have been taught in over 60 countries. Deborah and her expertise have been featured on the Today Show, NBC & TLC. She has been featured in national and global publications such as Dezeen, The Hollywood Reporter and Refinery29. She is now writing her second book and continually lectures nationally about wellness & ethical design. Deborah was born and raised in New York. She moved to Miami in 1997 and has enjoyed raising her daughters in Florida. She and the family, including Lucca, their dog, spend much time on the beautiful beaches that Miami has to offer.

The Color Dreamers

Deborah is a true artist. Her attention to detail and refinement really set her apart from many designers. She pays attention to textures and the subtlety of colors. We worked on a mural project that she conceptualized for an residential home. Her idea was to create an aged effect on a wall with a painting of classical style wild flowers over a faux concrete texture. Her color palette brought out the warmth in the room. The final result was spectacular and a true mark of a creative designer. She treated us like family and was very accommodating. It was true pleasure to work with her and I highly recommend her artistry.

We hired DiMare Design to help us decorate our new condo in Miami; we wanted a sophisticated yet livable home. She understood our needs from the moment we met. Our condo turned our better than expected. It was clear Deborah spent the time listening to us. We have several dogs and she completely understood that we needed washable durable fabrics. She even had beds made for the dogs. She was awesome!

We hired DiMare Design Group for a second time to design and customize our vacation home in Aspen, Colorado. Deborah and her design team could not have been more accommodating and prepared to take the project on. We were given designs in advance, beautiful furnishing selections & a perfect mix of our taste for our mountain home culminating in a final product which is both warm and relaxing. My family and I made the decision to spend more time in Miami once our son was accepted into school there. We were excited. He was excited. Excitement overflowed into the genius idea of having a house built in Miami. I found Deborah & Dimare Design on Houzz.com, and after looking at her great reviews and photos, decided that she was our gal. About halfway through the design & interior decorating process, I began to feel much less enthused. Deborah had decided she was taking over. My opinions on things that I was paying for and would have to look at for years to come were irrelevant. And any ideas I offered scoffed at. (Sensitive artists, I guess?) Her attitude declined as we skipped (tripped, stumbled, same thing) further down the green-brick road. We gave ideas. Nope. Asking about Budgets and Cost. Out the window. Furniture. Classless. Timelines. You apparently can't put a deadline on her artistry. Expecting that she actually complete what we paid for. Just unreasonable. I'm willing to provide pictures to anyone who is considering hiring her. We are overall unimpressed by her work and attitude and feel we definitely overpaid for what we now are trying to fix.
