I found Kim on Houzz, as her pictures continually ended up in my idea books. Her work is ridiculously good. We hired her to paint our kitchen island and range hood as part of an extensive rehab we did on our newly purchased home. We are now on our 7th project with her. An 8th is in the works. Kim has added a layer of class, sophistication, and elegance to our home that we love even more due to Kim's talent. I highly recommend Kim to everyone looking for an artist. There are not enough superlatives to describe Kim's excellence and general awesomeness.

Kim was professional and pleasant to work with. She painted and glazed cabinetry in our kitchen. Kim finished the job in a timely manner and her work is amazing. My kitchen has been transformed as Kim took our dark cabinets and painted them ivory with a chocolate glaze that has completely lightened the look of the room. She also painted and glazed a buffet in the dining room that I used to hate but after Kim's work on it, I now love! I highly recommend Kim...she is professional, friendly and hard working.

We hired Distinctive Applications for the refinishing work on our Kitchen Cabinets, Island, and custom woodwork around our fridge, above our sink & Island lighting. The projected involved a mix of dark cabinets and white distressed wood. We found Kim to be very easy to work with. She gave us several ideas and showed us pictures of similar projects that made a dramatic impact on our selection and the finished work. When it came to the work she was always on time and kept to the schedule. We had a very tight timeline around completion by Easter and Kim really worked hard to make our date work. The quality of the work is exceptional. We have recommended her to serveral of our friends and family. We also have plans for future work in our family room.

I was lucky enough to have Kim update and refinish some bookshelves which turned out fabulous! Upon initial consultation, I gave some very vague ideas about what I envisioned, including style and color. With little to go on, Kim came back with samples for me which were spot on, exactly what I had been thinking of. She is truly a gifted artist, intuitive and very easy to work with. She just "gets it". I highly recommend her work.

I hired Kim to paint my kitchen cabinets, stencil a wall in my family room, and stain a cabinet top. I was not sure of the exact colors, so she helped me decide what colors would work best and why. I was looking for a 'colorful-rustic' look. We also discussed the type of paint to be used, the type of finish, and the reasons why. We chose a medium toned blue for the cabinets. Kim was VERY knowledgable. I don't think there was anything she didn't know about paint! Her prices and timeline for the job were VERY reasonable. She started with the cabinets. She removed the doors and hardware, taped everything, primed and then did 2 coats of paint. She also changed out the existing hardfware, added knobs, and handles. My 1991 'stock' cabinets now look unique and brand new! Now, for the stenciled wall, we discussed what stencils were available, searched online for different options, and then purchased one from one of Kim's preferred vendors. She base coated the wall a dark torquoise blue, and then used a darker torquoise for the stenciled part. This job was very laborious, and took a lot of skill because you have to line up the stencil correctly, make sure it's even and level, and then make sure the stencil doesn't move when you're painting. She didn't make one mistake! I was truly amazed by her talent. You can tell she is a perfectionist just by watching her work. She has a lot of patience too. Lastly, she stained a cabinet top located in my bedroom hallway. He sanded it down, stained it a dark walnut color and sealed it. She also painted the set of cabinets with it a bright poppy red. The color combination is stunning! So, if you are considering hiring Kim, do NOT hesitate. She told me she is self-taught which is amazing because you have to have real talent to do what she does.

I have hired Kim Wohlfarth of Distinctive Applications several times. She is so talented, creative and easy with which to work. I often have trouble verbalizing ideas in my head and also need to see a sample to know if I like something. Kim was so accommodating while helping me decide colors and design. Not sure which project is my favorite but I know which one was the biggest transformation. Kim took an outdated kitchen table, chairs and hutch and made it beautiful again. I would hire her again in a minute. She is fair, honest, neat and so skilled.

Kim did an excellent job repainting a large piece of furniture for me and painting some cabinets from cherry wood to a beautiful gray color. She is very talented in her profession and I was amazed at how beautiful everything turned out. I would definitely use her again and would recommend her to friends. Her work is amazing and she can transform almost anything with her painting.

Very talented young woman who can create and or design almost any type of finsih that you can imagine. I had a rough idea of how I wanted my project fisnished and she came up with numerous custom sample boards to help with my final decision. Job was completed in a timely matter and well within budget for the final result.
