I hired Doreen based on the work she did for another friend and was excited to work with her. I live in a 1 bedroom/1bathroom and Doreen was able to work with my budget and guidelines. I completely renovated my kitchen and restained all floors and painted all rooms. I also furnished the living room, bedroom, and bathroom. She worked with a great contracting team that provided accurate estimates and completed the work in an accurate and timely fashion. Doreen presented 2-3 interior options for each phase of the project, i.e. kitchen floor tiles, wall paper, light fixtures, etc...Doreen has impeccable taste and a classic style. The goal was to upgrade my apartment from my youthful and temporary to a more contemporary and timeless feel while not reconfiguring the structure of my unit. The mission was accomplished!

Doreen was fantastic!! She was the consummate professional, and very easy to work with. Both my wife and I loved working with her!! She spent a lot of time at the outset getting to know us on a personal level, and made sure she understood what our tastes were, our feelings as to what specific items we would be willing to spend more/less on (through discussion with and guidance from her as well); I was very impressed with how she truly "listened" to us. Then she went to work, setting a budget, laying out some plans, and laying out the correct number of choices for each item we were looking to purchase (meaning not too many, but not too few). She clearly understood our patience level and was respectful of our time, and took us to see our choices in an efficient manner. She stuck to the budget, and definitely pointed us in the right direction with respect to where she thought we were leaning towards spending too much. Also, her taste is excellent. I would strongly recommend using her.

Finding the right design aesthetic is challenging when you’re living in an open floor plan and your home was formerly a warehouse. Given the height of my ceilings (at roughly 15+ ft high), I was completely at a loss when determining the right scale and dimensions when selecting furniture and accessories. From the moment I met Doreen Chambers at DCI, it was apparent that she's extraordinarily talented and quite capable. She is so creative and has such a calming spirit. I was quickly put at ease in knowing that she would take into account the nuances of my personality and taste as well as offer suggestions that would beautifully finish my space in a manner that would speak to me. Doreen Chambers has an excellent sense of color and style. We started with a blank slate, moving into a new condo with minimal fixtures installed, and starting from scratch with furnishings. She helped us narrow down the style/look we wanted, color schemes (she has an outstanding eye for color and pattern), and find high quality, stylish yet practical furnishings (our requirement). From wall colors/wall paper, to floor finish/carpets, fixtures, window treatments, built-ins, and furniture, she came up with ideas that were added just the right splashes of color to what could have been a cold, modern unit. She made a point of learning our tastes, and offering a variety of choices all of which would look good. As we got to work with her, and the place started coming together, we found ourselves trusting her judgment even more. She arranged for all workers (unless we had particular contractors that we wanted to use for some tasks), and oversaw the work well. We are delighted with the results - an attractive, comfortable, and functional home.
