Choosing a project designer is critical for a custom remodel. Engaging Melodie Durham, owner of Durham Designs and Consulting, LLC is the best decision I have ever made. Melodie has a keen eye for details, she is creative, enthusiastic and not just talented regarding the pretty features of the house but also assisted me in exterior selections, changes with framing to utilize space, electrical and lighting plans and worked diligently with me to explore all possibilities. Melodie has the ability to understand what I am trying to achieve. She understands the moving parts and was involved with all facets of planning and execution in achieving my goals. Our project has been lengthy but she has maintained a professional working relationship with multiple vendors and calls upon those who best fit for my project. She is also very quick to respond. She answers phone calls, emails and text messages promptly because she understands how important it is to have an immediate answer when a trade is on the job site. This is a refreshing trait and yet another example of her professionalism and attention to detail. We've worked on many projects together and there is no one that I would recommend other than Melodie. I've worked with others in the past and they were more concerned with their taste than mine. Melodie goes over and beyond to locate the perfect items for me and forces me to consider details and design elements that I might overlook. I'm not a visionary and can't see the end result. Melodie sees everything completed in advance and educates me why each part depends on the next. While I still struggle with "seeing" all until completion I can say that I have never been disappointed with the end result. In fact, I am thrilled beyond words when the end of each phase is completed.

It's very evident that Melodie is very passionate about what she does and has mastered her craft. We worked hand in hand on a Home of Distinction Project. She was so easy to work with and offered relevant and educational feedback on every decision that was made. She introduced us to the idea of using Schluter edging on porcelain tile. All we had to do is choose which furniture items we liked best. She helped with the selection of fabrics to coordinate throughout the house.
