Elegant Simplicity

Working with John and Sherri at Elegant Simplicity for our home remodel has been an amazing experience. We hired them to design our entire bottom floor (entry, stairway, formal living, dining, kitchen, family, powder, laundry) as well as source all new furniture. After going through the remodeling process before without designers, we knew we needed help this time. John and Sherri have made this experience so much smoother, quicker, and less stressful than we thought possible. As someone who gets overwhelmed easily, I especially appreciated them breaking up our project into 3 phases to make it feel more manageable. I also appreciated their ability to interpret my vision. Even though I sometimes had difficulty trying to verbalize my vision, their through questions and patience made sure we were always on the same page. They respected our budget and were very responsive via calls, email, and texts. I can’t recommend John and Sherri enough. We will absolutely be using them again when we are ready to tackle our upstairs projects.

Sherri and Jon helped us with a massive remodel. From exterior siding choices, to tile, to kitchen layout, to interior finishes and furnishings...we couldn't have done it without them. I would recommend them without any reservation and am 100% confidant we will use them in the future. They are as good as it gets.

John and Sherri have been fantastic to work with! We completely redecorated our first floor and did a kitchen and master bath remodel. The entire process was seamless and they were very hands on the entire time as if they were doing their own house. Sherri was able to translate my ideas into reality. She is very artistic and has a great design sense. They are both so responsive and easy to work with. We couldn’t have done it without them!

Sherri and John have now guided us with both the exterior and interior of our home design. My husband and I recently purchased an older home that was in need of updating. We are not first time home buyers, but this was the first time we purchased a home that required significant updates. They have been fantastic in guiding us on how to update the home with our style, but also ensuring we maintain the charm of this 1925 home. They work incredibly well as a team, listen intently to our wants/needs, and provide a thorough design outline- so that getting multiple bids for the project is incredibly easy! Moreover, they were able to give recommendations on painting companies and landscapers that we could use and we went with both of their recommendations! Sherri and John have made updating this house fun and easy and we plan to continue to work with them on projects to come!

We have been working with Elegant Simplicity for the past 3 months as we design/decorate our new home. We were starting essentially from scratch, and Sherri and John have been amazing throughout this process. They helped us break down the process into manageable chunks, and helped us develop our own design sense since we felt fairly intimidated by the whole thing. They really, really care about you as a client, and are never trying to push any particular product, style, or look. Their philosophy is that design should be accessible to anyone, on any budget, and it really shows in their process and who they are as people. Highly recommended!

It has been a pleasure working with Sherri and John on the update and remodel of my 1990s kitchen! I was feeling very overwhelmed about where to start, what is in "style" and how to even begin this whole project! Sherri is very creative, incorporated my ideas into the plan and has come up with a design plan that is unique to my house, yet is not "trendy" and will stand the test of time. Plus, she and John have a lot of experience working with different vendors in the area, I can't wait to see the final product!

I have worked with ESI on multiple projects. Their expertise, vision and design is unparalleled. As a remodeling contractor it is nice to know they are a call away for all our design needs. John and Sherri are great people with great vision.

Sherri is not just an extremely talented designer, but she also genuinely cares about her clients! Sherri has helped me through remodeling 2 bathrooms after some water damage in our house and I couldn't be more pleased with how things turned out. Even when the remodel hit the usual snags, Sherri always stepped up to the plate to fix things and make sure that we're not compromising on quality. I'm getting lots of compliments on the bathrooms! I will definitely use Sherri's services again in any home remodel project I have.

Christy and Sherri are simply incredible. I just moved into my "forever home" and wanted to make sure we started off on the right foot. I have never been super great at organizing a new space so I knew I needed help. Christy helped me organize my craft closet, my home office plus my office closet (it's like an office supply store in there now - so neat and organized). Mainly, she helped me sort and develop a "linear" filing system for boxes and boxes and boxes of "important" paperwork (most of which we shredded because I didn't know I could throw it away...How liberating!) Finally, Sherri and Christy helped tackle our garage. It went from being so full of junk that we couldn't walk through it to being able to park two SUVs in it. We did the garage in about 4 hours. AH-MAZ-ING! I not only have a super organized house, but I learned the skills necessary to KEEP IT organized. Elegant Simplicity is worth every penny for that kind of life. If you're on the fence, jump off it and hire these ladies. You won't regret it.

I loved working with Sherri. She helped me clean and organize my pantry and laundry room, which was instrumental in then figuring out what kind of shelving I needed. After I had the shelving installed, I used Sherri's organization methods and the system she'd already set up for me to maximize my space and minimize clutter. Where do I even start? She is the real deal and has a true GIFT when it comes to helping others. We have worked with her from 2015 during the organizing process, and her and John in 2016 in the design process. This journey has been a complete LIFE CHANGER. I have to agree with the other reviewer about how she is "part organizer part therapist". Before, my husband and I were in transition going from 2 separate homes to 1, and life was messy and unmanageable...and our home reflected that. We had double or triple of things which were randomly placed. It was so overwhelming that it was a huge source of stress and most likely put a strain on our relationship. What happened? We hired Sherri not knowing how brilliant she was. Her personality is warm,compassionate, and totally non-judgemental. This is so important because messiness can come with shame. She was so supportive in OUR vision of our home, and taught us the skills, tools, and systems needed to organize. I also want to note she genuinely wanted to get to know us as a whole person, not just getting things organized. Now, yes, things can get easily get "messy" but we know exactly where things go and cleaning is quick and easy. No more stress anymore. Things in our home have a system tailored to our lifestyle. I can now organize on my own because I have the techniques I learned with Sherri. Her husband, John is fantastic too, and are glad we got a chance to work with him during our design renovations in our home. He's very professional and organized when dealing with scheduling and contractors. Absolutely recommend Sherri and John!! Thank you for helping us!

Wow!! Amazing!! Calling was the best decision I ever made and they actually returned my call. This team is awesome to work with. They really helped with organizing my life. I love the initial process, they listened and delivered. Looking forward to the next project...
