We have worked with Gemma Parker Design for multiple projects over the years. Last year, we worked with the team at Gemma Parker to design multiple rooms in our new home. When it came time for us to add a nursery into our home, we couldn't wait to work with Gemma and the team again. In designing a nursery, we wanted a space to welcome our new baby but also be able to grow with him/her. We had the additional challenge of a very small room! The team helped us create a nursery that exceeded our expectations. Along the way, I had multiple ideas of what I might want (changing my mind often) and the team listened intently, delivering creative solutions quickly and consistently staying in touch with thoughtful approaches. In addition to the look of the room, they kept both safety and budget in mind, providing consistent updates so we would stay on track. Designing a room during a pandemic is no small feat! The team knew how important it was to have the room ready to welcome our new baby and they worked incredibly hard to get that done.

Gemma was the perfect partner for us. My husband and I both have serious ideas of what we want when it comes to our home... sometimes they complement & sometimes they don't. Gemma did the best job understanding what we wanted (and where we were similar) to pull together the perfect vision! The execution of everything was just as she & Sam explained it would be - we cannot wait to do the next level!! We were impressed with Gemma and her team from start to finish on our project. They combined observation and listening skills with creativity and innovation to come up with a combination of color, style, fixtures furniture and artwork that transformed our living space. As a newly married couple furnishing our first home, we had the extra challenge of figuring out our tastes and style together. Gemma and her team helped us define our style by drawing from our conversations - listening to the things that made us feel happy or made us feel at home. One of the best aspects of Gemma Parker Design is the personal attention to your project, from every single person that touches it. The team is incredibly creative, thoughtful and visual, but also organized (attentive to both the project status and budget). It was incredibly important to be able to have the budget laid out from the start, and the team was diligent about making sure we came in under budget: mixing items that felt custom, personalized, but smart. GPD kept everything on track without us ever having to ask. It makes you feel like your home is top of mind for GPD!

We hired the Gemma Parker Design team to help us decorate the first floor and entry in our new dream home in Bucktown. We chose Gemma and her team based on pictures of previous projects they had completed and their reputation in Chicago, we could not be happier with what they have done in our home! The design work they have done is incredible and the attention to detail and quality of pieces they have installed has been exceptional. The preparation and organization they bring into every meeting made it easy to make decisions and kept the process moving smoothly. Every time that Gemma reaches out to me I get excited, because I know that shortly thereafter I’m going to get to photograph a truly great home. Having known and worked with Gemma for the last 8-9 years I’ve seen her go from working at a firm to very successfully starting her own. Gemma and her team are some of the most professional and thoughtful people working in the design industry in Chicago. As a local interiors and architectural photographer I see great design on a near daily basis; but I never cease to be impressed by how meticulous, clean, and sophisticated her projects are. She always demands the best from me, because I think she wants to deliver the best possible product she can for her clients.

Gemma and her team were a pleasure to work with. Gemma has excellent taste and pays extremely close attention to details. From selecting light fixtures to picking paint colors, she listened to my inputs and made suggestions accordingly. By way of example, she worked with the painters to adjust the hue numerous times to make sure the paint color was just right for a room. Since I was living out of town at the time, she also sent me regular updates with pictures and kept me informed of the statuses of the project, which was much appreciated. I would highly recommend Gemma and her team to anyone looking for a designer.

My husband and I worked with the Gemma Parker team on a new construction build condo with an extremely difficult developer. Not only did the team design us a perfect new home, but they also dealt with all the nuances of new construction with ease. Gemma is extremely detailed oriented and things my husband and I would have surely missed were not because of them- saving us time, money, and headaches.
