Cindy did the designs for a complete remodel of two full baths and a partial redesign of the top floor in an older townhouse that we recently purchased. I want to express my sincerest appreciation and admiration for the design and furniture selection that was done by Grossmueller's Design and in particular Jenna Randolph David. Last summer we had a tree fall on our house creating epic damage and chaos. Jenna came into our home during a very challenging time and guided us through making many big decisions during a very stressful time. Jenna was responsive, and creative, she gave us a palette of options and was fun to have in our house. She gave input on wall openings, new doors and trim, paint colors, floor stains rugs, and furniture. She pushed our comfort level (Paint the ceiling the same color as the walls? Are you serious? BTW-It's amazing!) and the result is that we now come home to a place I can't believe we live in. I don't ever want to live through my house being rained in for two days but I like the outcome. Working with Cindy and her team was an excellent experience start to finish. From the very first meeting it was clear that Cindy understood our goals for our home addition and put together a design that met all of those goals. Cindy and her team guided us through the whole process. They understood our design taste, made great recommendations, and helped us navigate the many decisions we had to make during the planning. Cindy and Greg did a wonderful job leading us through the design process, both the physical design and the choice of fixtures/interior elements. Our neighbors have complimented the exterior design and how well the addition blends into the existing house. The redesigned interior is a gracious and welcoming space. We had an excellent experience with this company on a complete remodel of my husband's childhood home. The final product is AMAZING, a one of a kind gorgeous home with a serious WOW factor. Everyone who comes in the door uses that word. The design process with Cindy and her staff at Grossmueller's was terrific, a real partnership which became a friendship, collaborating on ideas, her being sensitive and open to our ideas and vision. The bid they offered on our job was realistic in terms of pricing (another company we considered started at the figure that we ended up with on the finish line with Grossmuellers and ART Design Build!). We also liked and appreciated that the staff of both the design and construction team is diverse, as African Americans that mattered to us. The construction phase had a few glitches but all remodel projects do. What I appreciated is that when we hit a glitch, we were able to resolve it well and creatively. All in all I highly recommend Grossmuellers! Their projections as to cost and time to complete were pretty accurate. They have a way of magically making all problems go away. They were especially conscientious about making sure the punch list was completed and helped tremendously with final touches like shades. The company will come back repeatedly for the first year to deal with any issues. We love our new, happy home!

Cindy was absolutely fabulous to work with and listened closely to what we wanted, where our challenges were, and ultimately designed a brand new, open-style family room and kitchen that optimizes the entire footprint and should be featured on a magazine cover. It’s not only functional, but looks gorgeous! Friends are shocked to see the transformation, and continue to comment on how beautiful the room looks, down to every fixture and feature! The process was so simple, smooth, enjoyable and every detail taken care of! Cindy's design sense and wealth of ideas are bar none. Art Design builders were also fantastic, friendly, on-time, every-day, working hard to complete the project on-time (if not early) and responsive, working through any construction challenges to ensure the project was done right! I highly recommend them and am thankful for the great job Cindy and Art Design did in designing and building a gorgeous, fresh new home!

Art Design and Build renovated two bathrooms and created an upstairs laundry for us. It was an outstanding experience. Cindy McClure designed elegant and practical rooms. The master bathroom has a large glass shower that can easily fit more than one. The bathtub is gorgeous. She also created a feature wall with a wisteria pattern matching the wisteria on the outer wall. The bathrooms were designed with safety in mind. My husband and I want to stay in our house as we age so we appreciate the attention to safety. Craig and Urias were the contractors. They arrived promptly at 7:00am each morning and left promptly at 3:00pm each day. This left us plenty of time to relax and prepare dinner. More important they were always courteous, meticulous and hard-working. We had a lot of laborious tile work in the bathrooms and it was done beautifully. We really can't say enough good things about our experience.

We did a major renovation to our entire first floor and half our basement, including switching the location of the kitchen and other rooms. Our space was large but not laid out well for modern living. We came to Cindy and her team with a wish list for how we wanted our space to function and the outcome was exactly what we'd hoped for. Our living space is cozier, our kitchen suits our joy for cooking and fits our whole family, and our basement was transformed from basic and utilitarian to a more useful and functional part of our house. Grossmueller's made it as painless as possible. They helped us with every step, from designing a new layout to fit our lifestyle, to choosing paint colors and furniture that suit our new spaces. It was a huge project but we were on time and within our budget. It is now a year later and they have, without a doubt, improved how our family functions at home.

We had a spectacular experience with Cindy McClure of Grossmueller's Design Consultants. Our project involved pulling off the back of our house and building new space on three floors. But there's so much to do AFTER you get the architect's drawings. We didn't know where to start. Cindy was the incredible solution. She helped us design our new kitchen and bathroom as well as contributing great design ideas to the rest of the house too, like adding beams to the new family room ceiling and built-in bookcases and drawers in the new FR and new BR. We had multiple meetings with her before the work started in which she walked us through all of the design decisions we needed to make – choosing cabinets, floor tile, wall tile, bathroom tile, wood flooring, faucets, stonework for counters and an island, lighting, fireplace surrounds and mantle pieces – even towel hooks, drawer handles, and paint colors. She really knows what she’s doing. She goes with you to the stores and helps you identify the options and make the final choice. She never pushed her preferences on us, she just got us to think about what we liked and make the decisions. Because she coached us through all the decisions we needed to make up front, there were no delays during construction while workers waited for us to pick something out or get it delivered. She knows code requirements, could answer any question about materials, and even caught errors in the construction drawings.

The team at Grossmueller’s was exceptional. They were patient as we worked through multiple revisions, offering suggestions, but also listening to what we wanted out of the space. We were working on the project while still living out-of-state and Cindy went out of her way to meet with us when it was most convenient for us. The end product is outstanding and we couldn’t be happier. The kitchen design, while a smaller footprint than what we were used to, has more functionality and space than we expected. And the entire addition really makes great use of the available space, with an eye towards making the house look cohesive and sensible. We see many additions in our neighborhood and from the exterior, they often look like big boxes attached to a small house. In contrast, we think our addition looks like it was always there – and it feels that way inside as well.

My family and I were thrilled with Grossmueller’s. We recently completed a major home renovation with Grossmueller’s/Art Design Build. From start to finish, we were impressed with the professionalism, high caliber and integrity of the entire team as well as the exceptional quality of the design and construction. I highly recommend Grossmueller's Design Consultants. Cindy, the business owner, came highly recommended to my wife and me by a good friend who recently used them. We selected her for a complete redesign/renovation of our small kitchen (more than 25 years old) after evaluating her design concepts and approach. We love every aspect of our new kitchen--the design, materials, appliances and finishing touches. She worked very closely with us from start to finish and was always there to point us in directions that she knew would meet our preferences, while introducing her design and product ideas. Her fees were known to us at the outset and fit well our needs. She first suggested expanding and opening up the kitchen space by tearing down the wall between the kitchen and dining room. In her design office, we went through our preferences for colors, cabinet styles, etc. and she proposed several alternative layouts for the locations of plumbing, cabinet , appliances, and. lighting. Her method merged our ideas with her design skills and experience. Cindy also introduced us to The Levine Group, a construction firm that she works closely with (and we ultimately used). They participated in those meetings, helping us to choose products and specifications for everything. Cindy was then wholly involved in consulting during ongoing construction--offering suggestions about issues that came up during the work and final touches along the way. As it turned out, this all worked out fabulously--all materials and choices work perfectly in the new kitchen. Everything was completed on time and within budget. As I said, we love our kitchen. It's beautiful and practical. Our cabinet and counter space are much larger, and there is much better flow with the dining room.

Cindy provided a one hour consultation to provide professional input for a full house renovation and specifically kitchen design. She was extremely helpful and efficient, making the most of our one hour appointment. Her ideas and advice allowed me to make a number of decisions regarding kitchen and home layout and I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for advice on the design phase of a home renovation

I have worked with several decorators and design consultants. None even remotely compare to Grosmueller's. Cindy McCLure LISTENS to your wants and needs and does not try to impose her views in your house. I am in my 60s and certainly am more traditional than many younger clients. Cindy listened to me and my wife and helped select some wonderful colors for our main living areas, our kitchen and our cabinets. Even our painter loved the selection of paints (and he is in many houses). Cindy and her colleague, Jenna Randolph, also had great suggestions on hardware for our cabinets and vanities, lighting and rugs. I would highly recommend Grossmueller's Design Consultants!

Grossmuellers partnered with us to completely renovate our 1300 sq ft DC coop. This project was a major overhaul: every inch of our newly purchased (100-year-old apt) had to be designed, built and decorated. Jenna and Cindy understood and actualized our vision for a welcoming and livable city home. The result is a wonderful combination of textures and colors that reflect our taste and aesthetic.

I cannot think of enough superlatives to describe how positive our experience was with Cindy. Our project started as a "simple" kitchen renov and evolved into a considerably larger scale project which, by expanding the house footprint, included the transformation of our garage into a music room, the addition of an exercise room, and the creation of a mud room. We have had mixed experiences with contractors in the past and had never engaged a design firm. From day 1, Cindy and her associates were fully engaged with our project and it wasn't long before she could predict the things that I would like (and those things that I would hate). I never felt pressured and, as time passed, felt that we were in sync. Further, our builders, ART Design and Build, and Cindy worked extremely well together and this good working relationship ensured that our project was done on time. We remodeled a 1990s large capecod first floor into an open floor plan. Cindy helped us from start to finish. She intuitively knew our style and exactly what we wanted, and helped us achieve the home of our dreams. Her company helped from architectural engineering, design drawings, contractors, all home interior design, and furnishings and staging.

We had a spectacular experience with Cindy through and through. She is part designer, part artist, part therapist, and part mediator. We came into our full kitchen renovation project with a fairly clear idea of what we wanted, but she took our ideas and gave us options in the way of variations on those themes that we would never have thought of. For example cabinet color and configuration, as well as backsplash. She was a conscientious steward of our budget, which was especially important. It can be intimidating to negotiate with various contractors and she was always available to interpret on our behalf. She was prompt and detailed in her responses to our emails and calls. She troubleshooted with us when issues came up during the project. She is kind and caring and we would work with her again in a heartbeat.

Jenna Randolph's excellent design ideas made our renovation a success! From picking paints, cabinetry, flooring, and finishes, to drawing up the blueprints and making sure the construction crew understood exactly what we wanted, Jenna ensured the process was smooth and seamless. She listened to our ideas, translated them to concrete plans, and delivered a beautiful finished product - on time, and at a reasonable cost. And, her calm demeanor and regular communication made what could have been a stressful process, a pleasure.

Cindy has a fantastic sense of how things could look, combined with a pragmatic talent for how things can work in practice. We converted a garage into a kitchen, opening up the whole lower floor of our house, and building a new garage, over the summer and fall of 2016. Cindy quickly saw the potential in the layout of our home, and worked with us to transform vision into reality. She solved several problems with style--new garage on this side of the yard, not that, bump out the kitchen so much, doors to the garden like so... Once we had given the lead on a basic look that we liked, Cindy was able to quickly guide us through options for the myriad decisions involved, from tiles to faucets, to grouting, to cabinet styles, with a sure touch and a comprehensive knowledge. It was a pleasure to work with Cindy, always willing to discuss ideas, redraw designs, patient with delays.

I cannot recommend Cindy highly enough! She made our dream kitchen happen and we were so impressed with her knowledge, ability and vision from the very first meeting. She knows how to make renovations work and flow in older homes, but still look seamless. She is friendly, easy to work with, and I always trust that she's giving her honest opinion. Working with Cindy to design our family cabin in West Virginia was nothing short of amazing. Cindy really listens to her clients and bases her designs on the personality of her clients. In addition, she is great to work with throughout the process. If I couldn't find the perfect fixture or the perfect lighting - she was right there and found it. Cindy's attention to detail is amazing - down to the color of the screws for light switch plates. It was an amazing experience working with Cindy. I would not change a thing.

My wife and I hired Grossmueller Design Consultants to design and build our vacation home near Snowshoe, WV. This site held great significance for us and we wanted the home to be very special and a legacy for our daughter. My wife and I are polar opposites though, she is sunshine and I am moonlight. Designing a home that accommodated both my dark hunting lodge and her bright ski getaway desires was a daunting task. Cindy spent extensive time with both of us understanding our individual "wants", solidifying and pinning us down on agreed upon elements, carefully weaving together this patchwork design into a work of art, all while balancing the financial and practical limitations of the site. The end result is a beautiful, well crafted, classy yet rugged, light but dark, vacation "home" that is truly the purest representation of my wife and I. It is our legacy property for our daughter, and her children's children. Grossmeuller Design is responsible for all of it. We highly recommend this company!

We have worked with Cindy and her team on two projects, the renovation of our kitchen and of a bathroom. We live in an old house, and we were impressed by the skill that she brought to the projects in terms of developing the optimal use of space, beautiful color schemes and the right materials to blend in with the style of the house. She uses top notch contractors (ART Design Build was also great to work with on both projects) and suppliers, who made helpful and aesthetically pleasing suggestions. The projects moved along smoothly and stayed on time and on budget. We would be pleased to use Grossmueller's Design again in the future!

Cindy helped us design a new kitchen and an enclosed sunroom from a screened in porch in 1999. We liked what she did so much that when we bought a 1950s ranch needing extensive interior work we hired her again. The scope of work included updating the kitchen, and three bathrooms, lighting, using garage space to create a small gym, workshop and storage, adding bookshelf space and renovating existing beautiful parquet flooring, all the while keeping the feel of mid century modern. Cindy's great strength is that she listened well to our goals and tastes while advising us on what would work well and what wouldn't. She did not impose her tastes on us but educated us on how to achieve our ideas in a functional way. She works incredibly hard for her clients.

Jenna Randolph did an amazing job decorating our living room, breakfast nook, dining room, library, and master bedroom. She also chose paint colors for our entire house and most of our light fixtures. She has a great eye for hanging art, too. Jenna listens well, and chose rugs and furniture pieces that we loved but still fit our budget. She is an absolute pleasure to work with as she is professional and personable. She responds promptly to calls and emails. We couldn't be happier with our finished rooms and highly recommend Jenna.

Cindy and her staff at Grossmueller's did an excellent job of figuring out a design that would add the most to my house within the rigorous budget that I set. We added a master suite (bedroom, huge bath, and closet) and expanded the living room by 50%. I spent a lot of time thinking about what I wanted, and they spent a lot of time trying to work that into the existing structure of my house. When we had a glitch, it got fixed quickly, professionally, and appropriately. And -- What we ended up with is beautiful. The new part of the house is by far the most popular with everyone who comes into the house. I'm so glad I asked Cindy to work with me!

I have worked with Cindy of Grossmueller's Design and ART Design Build on two major projects, and I could not be happier with her and their work. Our first project was a kitchen update and bathroom remodel. Cindy worked patiently with me to establish the plans and to work with some of my strong opinions and desires for unusual materials. In situations where I didn't already know what I wanted, Cindy made excellent recommendations for products and materials that fit with our style and budget. Four years later, I returned to the same team in order to replace an old deck with a screened porch, and to update the exterior of our home. Once again, Cindy accommodated my strong desires (Ipe flooring) and made her own design suggestions (roofline) that together created a beautiful addition to our home. As part of the project, we replaced a window with french doors in order to provide access to the new porch. The construction team, with input from Cindy, saved the decorative medallions from the old window and had the door trim custom-milled in order to make the new opening match all the others in the house. I didn't have to remind them to make it happen (and it wasn't spelled out in the contract) - they just knew that preserving the character of the house was important to me. I would not hesitate to work with the team again for any future home renovations.

Being a realtor, I know many wonderful designers, architects, design/build firms etc. When it came time to do my own home, without hesitation I hired Grossmueller's. Cindy and her team designed a kitchen that reconciled my fantasies, my budget, my space and my lifestyle. My project has been finished for over a year and I still love everything about my new kitchen. I have no regret or second thoughts about any advice Cindy gave or decisions I made. I would change nothing. The highest praise came from reactions of friends. Some cried, all were insanely jealous and the serious cooks and chefs have declared it the best work flow they've ever seen. I have to begin by saying how absolutely terrific our experience has been with both Cindy McClure/Grossmueller's and the ART Design Build Team. Simply put, we couldn't be happier. They are terrific, and we would use them again and recommend them in a heartbeat. Our project manager was Craig Shaw, who is a masterful project manager. Grossmueller’s and ART Design Build gutted our existing kitchen, built a completely new kitchen for us (20x20), adding 240 sq feet of kitchen space to our home and performed other upgrades throughout the house. Our design process took about 3 months, and the building of the addition took almost exactly 3 months - just as we were told and had anticipated. Grossmueller’s design, combined with the terrific interior kitchen design work of Mike Bliss at Cabinet Discounters in Gaithersburg, MD, was terrific. Cindy McClure is extremely detailed oriented, professional and easy to work with. She listened to all of our needs, made great suggestions to us based on our family needs and their experience, and integrated our wishes into the design. We never had an argument or disagreement because of the professional way in which Grossmueller’s and ART Design operate and work with clients. Our design and the subsequent build was done in top-notch fashion. From day 1, our project manager - Craig Shaw - was on top of everything. He is detail-oriented, extremely affable and likeable and a perfectionist. He would anticipate questions we had, address any and all issues before they became issues, and was always solution-oriented. He managed the project on-time and on-budget, and there were no unanticipated costs that arose. The only additions or changes made after the contract signing were made at our request because we wanted the crew and subcontractors to do additional work since they were already in the house. Their subs were all professional, but it was Craig who managed them - not us. That was what we wanted in a design/build firm, and that is exactly what we got. Craig is a take-charge, unflappable project manager who is also extremely skilled in construction. We can't say enough good things about him and the way Mike Johnson runs his company. They are all professionals, and their work, work ethic and manner with which they work with clients demonstrate that. While our project cost a substantial amount of money, we believe that it was well worth it. We not only paid for the building of our beautiful space which we absolutely love, but also for the most hassle-free and professional experience we could get. We highly recommend Grossmueller's and ART Design Build to anyone for any project - large or small. You won't be disappointed, and we think you will very pleasantly satisfied. I doubt there are many people who could speak so confidently and glowingly about their contractor. We are proud to do so.

We hired Cindy McClure and Grossmueller's Design Consultants to design a full-house renovation. They work exclusively with Art Design Build - who did the build for us. Working with Cindy was incredibly easy. In the beginning of the project, she asked lots of questions, listened to our answers, then offered solutions to our issues. When we wanted her input, she gave it freely. When we wanted to make decisions on our own, she let us without interfering. At the start of the process, we were quoted 6 months to completion -- the project only took 5! We are so happy with the decisions that we all made together that we have recommended Art and Cindy to many of our friends and neighbors without hesitation!

I am writing this review from my renovated kitchen designed by Grossmueller's and built by Art Design Build. The space plan for the kitchen, new eat-in area, office, and bathroom works beautifully and creates a great flow with the rest of the house. Grossmueller's was able to create a feel of openness and space even though we actually did not expand the footprint of our house but instead removed walls and made excellent use of our space in a new way. We could not be more pleased with the results!
