I have worked with H2K for years and am always impressed by their level of design skill and professionalism. They are friendly, easy going, and again, incredibly talented in their profession. We worked with Garrett for a complete wall of cabinets in our living room as well as a new fireplace install. Our room went form French Country/Beach to NW Contemporary. Garrett is a delightful and skilled designer. He worked well with our cabinet makers and electronics company. Details, details, details is what he and H2K Design Inc. are all about! We will be doing a kitchen gut in the future and look forward to working with Garrett again.

As general contractors, we have had the opportunity to work with Garrett and Wendy at H2K Design on numerous projects. Their eye for design and attention to detail is unsurpassed. We hired H2K to help with the remodel of our home. We suffered a fairly second rate experience. We signed a contract with a statement of work--listing an agreed "not to exceed amount to be billed." The build lasted 12 months but H2K surpassed the spend limit within 2-3 months. When we raised concerns about the mounting costs. They said "pay or they would place a lien against the home". With my wife pregnant and a home in the middle of construction, it just wasn't worth the fight. We paid the contract amount and ended our relationship. Unfortunately, we were left with perhaps 50% of the contracted design work completed.

Comment from H2K design Inc.:

The agreed upon contract was for schematic master planning of the residence, and a kitchen and powder room remodel.

The owner, Mr. Peers, stripped the entire homes interiors bare. At that time, the City of Seattle issued a stop work order, and required a full building permit.

The Peers stopped paying their bills three months prior to H2K stopping work on their project. At that time, we inquired about the billings going unpaid; and we were released from the project. H2K then entered into negotiations for settling the fees that were three months overdue.

The General Contractor brought the house to substantial completion; but he too was not fully compensated for the work he performed.

When I work with H2K design I know that our client will be taken care of and listened to throughout the entire design process. Many of our mutual projects have been published in Seattle Homes and Lifestyle Magazine and Better Homes and Gardens, Special Interest Magazines.

Commented: What type of floor is this? Tile, cement, laminate? Very pretty.This is a poured in place Terrazzo floor. Cementicious based matrix with marble chips, glass and abalone shells. Once poured, it is ground smooth. Thank you for your question.

Commented: BacksplashThe seams are but jointed. You can have a sheet metal fabricator measure and cut the product for you. The stainless can be cleaned just like you r stainless appliances with a clean soft cloth.
