Hannah Blumenthal Design

I cannot recommend Hannah highly enough. She has not only helped choose beautiful furniture, window treatments, rugs and art for our home, she has been a real partner in creating spaces that we love and feel comfortable in. Hannah worked with us when we were moving back to New York after several years overseas. Even before we moved into our apartment, she helped us catalogue our current furniture to determine what we could use and where, making a complicated move much smoother. She then took the lead on selecting paint colors and window treatments for the rooms so that they were ready for our family move-in date. Hannah has an excellent sense of color -- perhaps due to her background in art -- and we adore the subtle shades she chose for us. She also introduced fantastic tradesmen to the job so that the painting and window treatments were done efficiently and expertly. After helping us determine room layouts, Hannah helped us fill in furnishings and decorations as needed throughout our home. Without fail, Hannah was both creative and practical in helping us select items. Understanding our challenges -- a toddler, a baby, and three cats in one apartment in New York! -- Hannah found durable yet beautiful items and always presented us several good options at several different price points. I don't know what we would have done without her. Finally, Hannah is just a lot of fun to work with. She brings clear passion to her job and is both upbeat and interesting -- critical, I think, when you will spend a lot of time working with someone on something as personal as your own home.

Hannah Blumenthal Design has helped me create a home that I adore. Her design aesthetics are impeccable, her list of vendors is extensive and her professionalism is of the highest caliber. I can't recommend her enough. Hannah helped me immediately upon purchasing a new-to-us home in Washington, DC. She created a list of priorities for us as it was too overwhelming to address all our needs at once. She helped to guide us through our renovation -- from backsplash tiles to drawer pulls and paint selection and light fixtures. I think Hannah has a particularly amazing sense of color and created a palette for our home that always receive complements. When it was time for decor, she exposed me to small retailers that I would never have found on my own; we have a stunning custom walnut wood dining table that our family loves. Hannah has strong relationships with vendors which was very helpful in expediting deliveries and generally making purchasing more enjoyable (ex., taking rugs out on consignment, holding items while we mulled over the decision.). While her design sense is excellent, it in no way sacrifices her attention to detail. She's as comfortable hammering our the specifics of a delivery or taking the perfect measurement for hanging a chandelier as she is talking about big concepts. We were particularly grateful for her negotiating with a vendor when a custom made chair was sent with some imperfections -- Hannah got us a new chair at no additional charge. Overall, Hannah Blumenthal Design has been the perfect partner for me and has made our home beautiful.
