Rachel and one of her team members recently completed an office makeover for me. The service was exceptional. Rachel listened to my needs, did a colour consultation and then they proceeded to put the plan in motion. In very short order the office was painted and yes they fixed the drywall blemishes, they refaced my cabinets into a more modern look to be cost conscious and they helped with ideas regarding placing the furnishings back into the newly refreshed space. I highly recommend Rachel to anyone who is looking for expert knowledge, honest cost effective advice and want a pain free renovation, paint or decorating project done for them. I have nothing but praise and thanks for Rachel and the job she did in staging and putting the finishing touches on our home before we placed it on the market for sale. From the very instant she entered the front door, she had ideas galore for furniture placement, colour schemes, lighting and angles for best show. I was introduced to Rachelle Landry via my real estate agent. She was personable, intelligent & responded to my questions & concerns in a prompt & detailed manner. It is rare to find a home decor professional with extensive experience in carpentry, painting & drapery services as well as a keen eye to detail in all aspects of her work. She can adapt her vision to any budget. Due to her extensive hands-on work experience, it was piece of mind for me to know that I was dealing with the actual person doing the work. She had flexible work hours to accommodate my work schedule. She is able to articulate her vision easily. She cleaned, sanded & painted my existing kitchen cupboards to appear as brand new. She converted a pair of my standard kitchen cupboards to those with glass inserts in order to display my crystal glasses. She built a support for my microwave to be incorporated into my kitchen cabinets. She gave me many storage solution ideas going forward. She researched, found & assembled a kitchen island for me to acquire more counter space & storage. She installed a back splash & under the cabinet lighting. She added trim to the top & bottom of my cabinets, an additional display shelf & created above the cabinet storage/display niches. She painted my kitchen walls. I am very happy with my new kitchen. For the past six years Rachel Landry of Home and Sanctuary has applied her very versatile design and decorating talents, good taste and extensive knowledge to projects in our homes. In 2008 we amalgamated furnishings from two homes into one, a daunting project that Rachel handled with good humour, speed and ease. The following year we decided to sell our large house and downsize. Rachel's considerable staging talents helped make that a quick and successful sale. Since then Rachel has organized and completed a wide variety of projects in our latest home, from interior and exterior colour consultations, to organizing painting of the whole house, to lighting plans, selection of new furnishings and fixtures, and conscientious recycling of items we no longer needed. Rachel is unfailingly professional, creative, versatile and adept at many skills. Home & Sanctuary provided my client with "home preparation" services prior to their sale. The before and after results were amazing. Rachael Landry from Home and Sanctuary is a true professional! Rachel began her work with us by providing a very thorough consultation. As she explored every room in our home she asked us many questions in order to get a feel for what we wanted. She was very respectful of our taste and worked with that to give us a professional product. For example, in helping us choose a new colour for our main floor she worked with the basic colour that we were interested in, showing us a full range of that colour family and helping us decide. We walked with her throughout the area trying the colour against our decor. She did not try to pressure us at all. She left us with paint chips to experiment with at different times of the day. Rachel also helped us with a renovation of the entrance to our bedroom and our en suite bathroom. Listening to our needs, she came up with innovative ideas that looked fabulous and met our budget. She also worked with the skilled trades that she hired to ensure the job was done properly and on time. Rachel designed and made a window treatment for our guest bedroom that was extremely stylish and also solved the problem of how to darken the room for sleeping. She advised us on choosing a wall to wall wardrobe for our master bedroom. What we got met all of our storage needs for a very reasonable price. Rachael even worked with my husband in assembling it!
