I graduated from Oakland University in 1998 with a Master in Physical Therapy and enjoyed a successful career as a therapist. I worked in-home care and found it intriguing to see the environments in which my clients lived. I grew a passion for interiors over the years, not only to make homes safer for my patients, but more comfortable and beautiful. I enrolled at Baker College to gain a formal education on interior design, and worked as a design assistant for a highly successful designer in Birmingham, MI. I am excited to create spaces that marry form and function, are beautiful and meet the needs of each client. I live in Rochester Hills, Michigan, with my husband and two sons. My goal is for clients to feel joy and excitement about their home and the renovation process. The friendly smile and the fun factor are what set me apart! My 3rd project with Kori and it turned out better than expected. I had Kori help me with updating builder grade light fixtures, adding a kitchen backsplash, painting my island and adding a backsplash in a wet bar. She selected several lighting options – all of which complimented my home perfectly. They arrived timely and were installed soon after. The kitchen backsplash had a few odd corners and she suggested a creative solution to get a polished look. I would recommend Kori for design services. She utilizes quality products and can offer reliable contractors for installation

We were looking for a designer for our renovation project for a condo that we had purchased. The entire kitchen and 2 bathrooms were gutted, new flooring throughout, updating the staircases, lighting, etc. Working with Kori on this project was an absolute joy. Her enthusiasm for the project and the choices that she presented to us were fantastic. She was able to take our vision and make it happen, even exceeding our expectations!! Kori was very mindful of our budget and our swift timing to complete. Her choices of tile, lighting and along with paint color make our condo look like a totally new build.Kori & Tom are an excellent team--great attention to all the little details and finishing the project on time. Working with Kori for our kitchen renovation was a wonderful experience. We had not taken on a project of this size before and from the initial consultation to the final installation, she exceeded our expectations at every step. With not much more than an initial look at our space and a handful of Pinterest pictures of things we liked, she was able design a space that fit not only our functional needs but our tastes and style as well. Kori was very in tune with our budget and kept that in mind throughout the design process. We absolutely love the final result and cannot wait to work with her on our next home project.

I had my home repainted over a year ago, and was looking for someone to help with decorating my kitchen, dining room and living room. (These rooms are very large with no separating walls; and it's an open space with cathedral ceilings.) I wanted to make everything feel colorful and welcoming, but had no idea had to do that myself. Kori was able to provide me with a layout and decorative ideas using interior design software. This was AMAZING as I am a very visual person. Kori was able to help me decide a color palette, wall art, decorative accents, and furniture placement. I was simply mind-blown by the process and how she was able to turn my vision into reality! I would definitely use her again, as well as refer her services.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review about your design consultation with myself and my designer Jen. We enjoyed the time spent with you and your wife, Teresa, in your new condo exchanging stories, sharing some laughs and design ideas.

Much to our surprise, we are disheartened to hear that you feel disappointed with the design consultation. In addition to believing in transparency, Horizon Interior Design places a high value on communication and client satisfaction. Our process and design fees are outlined for our clients in several ways; on our website, during the initial phone call, as well as at the consultation meeting and in our Welcome Packet that we leave behind.

Generally, a follow up call is done within two business days for any clients who do not sign on with us at the consultation. Being that we were at your home late Friday afternoon, we attempted to touch base with you on Tuesday morning.

We take every piece of feedback we receive into consideration as we continue to strive towards creating positive client experiences. A refund for your consultation has already been issued to you. From the start of our first floor remodel, Kori has been a joy to work with. She has a very positive and infectious attitude coupled with an easy going approach working with clients. It did not take Kori long to learn our likes and dislikes, and to either adjust course accordingly or pitch a design aspect in an encouraging manner opening our minds and ultimately improving the results of our project. Kori’s skill and capability shine through as we now have the warm elegant space we so wanted, and when guests see the remodel, they are wowed as they walk through. New Living Room and Dining Room

I haven’t worked with an interior designer before. When I got divorced, I knew I wanted a change but I didn’t know anything else. I went on Next Door and they had the highest number of positive reviews. I interviewed a few but they stood out, really easy to talk with. I asked for help in making it my place and I hoped people would like it. They helped me accomplish both, and I highly recommend them. I’m very happy with the process and the results.

We basically renovated our entire house this past summer. It started with the kitchen and went from there. Kori helped us to redesign the kitchen layout, had terrific ideas for placement of appliances, island etc. Then when all the construction was done, she helped pick out colors for all the rooms, lighting, rugs, artwork, decor, everything basically. Everyone who has come through has said the same thing - "love all it all flows together". We couldn't agree more, hiring a designer was the best decision we made and so glad Kori came recommended to us. I have already passed her name along to two others!! And will gladly recommend to others!

We hired Horizon Interior Design to decorate our home. Kori sat down with us to see what we liked to get an idea on how to transform our home. She listens to your ideas and then takes her talent to your home. She asks what your budget is and works within that budget. She even tells you that you might go over that budget with different things. She shows you everything that she thinks will look good and you then decide if you want to purchase it. If what she picks out you do not like she will keep looking for you. She respects your opinion and that is what I like about Kori. She always gives an update on everything. We started with the children's rooms and she asked them what they liked in color and design. The outcome was phenomenal. Everything from color to furniture to paintings and even dresser decor. Our son loves paintings of lightening. Kori got a picture of one and had it matted so it matched his walls. It was so nice. Our daughter loves Italy. Kori got wall paintings of Rome to Italy to New York to match her room decor. Working on living room now and not done yet. I will let you know when done. I'm sure it will look beautiful.

My husband and I recently purchased an older home and were introduced to Kori to help us with a number of renovations. From the moment we met her, we felt comfortable. She was friendly, personable, and quickly developed a good understanding of our overall vision. We relied on Kori to manage and communicate with our contractors from start to finish. She kept us in the loop throughout the whole process, even picked up additional tile for our master bath when our contractors mis-calculated the measurement. Though our renovations are now complete, we still reach out to Kori to get her thoughts and feedback on items we're looking to purchase for the home. I worked with Kori on a kitchen/laundry layout and design. Easy to work with, she created a design that solved layout constraints and increased the work flow of the space. In an open-concept floor plan, the kitchen needed to blend with the dining and living rooms, which left me at a loss for cabinet choices. Kori suggested a combination of kitchen cabinetry that was brilliant. I was so knocked out by her ability, I asked her to work with me on colors and accessories for the rest of this area. She was reasonable, effective, incredibly creative. She 'got' me instantly. Thank you, Kori!
