In 2011, Happy (Ian) Grove worked with us to plan, design and execute an extensive renovation to our 1960s 3 bedroom bungalow. Happy made sure that what he proposed to us for a new exterior design maintained the neighborhood architecture and street appeal, but had a crisp new look that makes the house standout. The interior of our new house has many elements that Happy suggested which are somewhat unique and quite stunning, including walnut hardwood flooring, teak cabinets, Caesar-stone countertops, two-sided fireplace in the foyer and shared with the living room. These elements may not stand out as much individually, but when brought together they provide us with a beautiful open-concept main floor that is very comfortable, livable and is also great for entertaining. The guidance and expertise that Happy provided during our renovation was invaluable. He has a very keen eye for detail along with an ability to take our thoughts and ideas and turn them into a living space that suits our personalities and lifestyle to a tee. We are very grateful for the opportunity to bring Happy into our lives to help us create our dream home. He receives our highest recommendation.

We have worked with Ian Grove for more than 10 years on a number of projects ranging from a significant home renovation to most recently, the replacement of a back yard deck. Our experience illustrates Ian's flexibility and adaptabilty to a wide variety of circumstances and budgets. Ian brings strong project management skills, including cost control, to any undertaking and has developed an extensive network of subtrades with whom he works very compatibly. Ian's childhood nickname, bestowed by his mother, was "Happy" and she knew what she was doing. Ian/Happy has a great sense of humour which is another vital characteristic throughout a renovation when the inevitable setbacks and surprises raise their heads.
