j witzel interior design is a full-service interiors firm specializing in modern, yet approachable, designs that reflect each client's individual style and spirit. With more than 16 years of interior design experience that started under the guidance of William Peace of Peace Design, Witzel founded her own firm in 2010. As the principal designer, she takes a strategic approach to considering the architecture, balance, scale, and light of an interior space. Knowing that creating a home is an intensely personal process, Witzel strives for excellence in every detail. She has been featured in Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles, Modern Luxury Interiors, the Modern Atlanta Architectural Tours (2012, 2015, 2018 and 2019), Atlanta Magazine's HOME, The Atlanta Journal and Constitution, American Craft Magazine, ASID InDesign, and has received multiple Best of Houzz Awards. Witzel graduated magna cum laude with a BFA in interior design from the Art Institute of Atlanta. Prior to that, she earned a BS in Botany from North Carolina State University, the science of which informs her analytical approach to interior design.

I've worked with Julie on several projects, the latest being the renovation of an old office building in nashville. she has been responsible for choosing paint colors, flooring styles, door and trim finishes and hardware, as well as furnishings. it turned out great. i am property manager and owners representative on this project, and my job is to make sure the owners are pleased with the outcome. they are thrilled. julie has a rare combination of creativity and organization that makes my job easy. i look forward to many more projects.

I had a wonderful experience with j witzel interior design. Julie helped us with the interior design of our house which was under construction. Julie is a great listener and was able to clearly get a sense of what we wanted. She is very organized and presented us with detailed plans, fabrics, and colors. She assisted with lighting selections, tile, carpet and flooring. She gently steered me away from some choices and I'm so glad she did. The alternatives Julie chose made our house look absolutely stunning. I would highly recommend Julie's services to anyone looking for an immensely talented and highly professional designer.

She took my brief and develped an action plan that was achievable given my schedule & budget. Using her knowledge & experience, she did a teriffic job in matching my taste & budget to the right suppliers, which made sourcing items as easy & painless as possible. Buying everthing for a new home (from knives & forks to furniture & art) can be an overwhelming experience, but Julie helped me survive it & now I smile every time I walk in my front door.
