JAMES HOME DECOR

Having a small den with an irregular shape in a new home, we sought the services of an interior designer and chose James Decor after hearing they were the best. Measurements were taken by designers and we chose one from two “to scale” design drawings they offered, purchasing furniture they recommended based upon their drawing. Did question length of sofa after a year of trying to design on our own, but were assured it would fit. Long story short, the furniture didn’t fit, custom sofa being 1-1/2 ft too long. The owner initially refused to allow us to return custom sofa (high end but very vanilla and easy to resell) even though we wanted to purchase the same sofa in a smaller size. After further conversation she agreed to a return and committed to coming by to look at room herself to ensure our replacement was proper size. No show. In addition and on her own, she cancelled our pillow fabric order that tied together the color scheme of chair (red accent piece), rug and sofa we’d purchased. We’d also purchased a set of side tables recommended by our designer from the floor sample they had which were black, but were to be ordered in brown. We received one at delivery as other was damaged in transit and they would reorder; however, one we received was not brown, but same black as what we’d seen in store, later finding a “Sold” tag inside drawer with designer’s initials. Questioned designer who confirmed the side table only came in black - we were never notified and would have cancelled order - only there was no order to cancel as we received the floor sample, at full price.The owner refused our returning the side table, even though it was not what we “ordered” and after assuring us it was returnable since it was not a custom item. Buyer beware, this has ruined us for looking to high end furniture stores offering design services and unfortunately has stained the reputation of those who are honest and stand by the services they offer.

I worked with Maralee recently during an extensive remodel. She was great. Not enough good can be said about her and the James Decor organization. Maralee was wonderful working with the furniture and accessories I already had and choosing new items that worked with the old perfectly. My home is warm and inviting as well as nicely updated. The craftsmen that they work with are also top notch. I love my draperies, wall hanging and new upholstery. They all gave me great help to make my remodeling upheaval a very manageable experience. I have been working with them for about 17 years and they will remain my go-to interior experts. BRH

I purchased a new home in 2015 and used James Home Decor to refurnish the entire house. I was just going to start with a few rooms. However, the rooms came out spectacular and they were super fun to work with. I ended up using them to finish the rest of the house. It is hard to find high quality products in this area. Not only is their showroom packed, but they were able to source some very unique brands as well. They will definitely do my next house!

I cannot tell you the level of service you get from Lee and her staff! They have an exquisite eye for detail, as well as the sensitivity to their clients to gently push them in the right direction. They have a such a wide variety of pieces, and whatever you want they will be able to get. They make the process so easy and seamless, it made made me want to redecorate my entire house! I really dislike decorating, so I appreciated the input that James home Decor gave me. The style they present to you is timeless; my very first Christmas tree was designed and purchased by James Decor, and I still use it to this day, over 12 years later. It is still beautiful, classic, and elegant. I’m purely my own style. As such, I have purchased two houses full of furniture from them. Lee and James Decor has helped me decorate my home for the past six years. When we moved into our new home, we needed a lot of new furniture because the rooms in the house were a lot larger and a different style from our previous home. Lee was and is amazing at finding the perfect furniture for each room, tying some of our old sentimental pieces with new updated decor, choosing the best colors for paints as well as bedding and wall decor. She also took a lot of time putting it all together! She is amazing at learning/ knowing what you like and picking out the perfect pieces of furnitue that will make your home look like a showcase. Our upstairs is more traditional and our basement is somewhat contemporary and both floors look like they could be in a decorator's magazine. People always comment how amazing our house looks and I could not have done it without Lee!!!!! I highly recommend her to anyone for any job they need help with in decorating their home and any style.
