She works in the decoration and renovation of new and existing homes. Janet has an innate ability to design spaces to suit the lifestyles, desires, and tastes of her clients. Janet works individually with each client to develop a design aesthetic reflecting her client’s personalities and taste, while focuses on incorporating natural, sustainable materials and infusing subtle references to nature with a respect for the homes architecture. Janet got us out of a stuck place when we were working on our remodel plan. We were already working with an architect on the design, and felt confident about our decisions for most materials and finishes but were struggling with the tile choices. Although we visited many tile stores, we were not confident about the options we gathered. When I sought some help, I found most designers will work exclusively with clients who want an extensive design services. Finally I found Janet, who, though could have designed our project, was willing to help us with our more limited design need. I am so glad I reached out to her. She listened well to what we were interested in and offered several sets of tile for our kitchen backsplash and bathroom. Frankly, she knew where to look and had a good eye for what we might like. My fears that we would spend lots of money and not be quite happy with the results did not materialize. Actually, the opposite: I've lived with our remodel for over a year now, and every day I get positive energy from it. The choices fit with house, are high quality, and don't overreach, so to speak. We are reaping the rewards of getting help when we felt out our our depth. I think Janet is unique in being flexible enough to help with a particular need without needing to take over the whole project. She clearly has solid of experience with design and working with clients.

Janet responds quickly and was able to help me with furniture layout in a small space. I appreciated her feedback on colors too. I will be using her for a bigger project later on this year too.

Working with Janet has completed changed my dream of what a beautiful and welcoming family home can be. Both in our Manhattan apartment and our Sagaponack Hamptons homes we’ve enjoyed not just decoration and renovation, but thoughtfully customized plans for many ways to imagine and use each room. Janet’s professionalism had already come highly recommended. Her worldwide resources and excellent relationships with vendors usually made even hard-to-find and even harder-to-get items possible. One of the best things about working with Janet was how generously she included me in showing and shopping for gorgeous furnishings and finishes I’d never have thought of considering. She has an easy way about her. So personal. Always a pleasure. And to Janet’s credit even during Covid, she brought our projects in on or under budget and was able to give reliable delivery expectations for almost every item. If deliveries were late she kept us in the loop until the work was completed. Our home is a now a dream come true for every member of our family. Thanks so much Janet!

I am working with Janet (Janet Greenblatt Interiors) to pull together living room, dining room, kitchen and sun room in our new house. She is proactive, punctual, and professional. She has good resources to make projects come together and has been wonderful about listening to me, catching the vibe I am looking to create, and suggesting approaches. She has helped me choose furniture, fabrics for upholstry, rugs, paint colors and light fixtures, and has also provided input and guidance as we finalize architectural choices for a significant remodel and direct our contractor. When a table arrived damaged, she took care of all of the correspondance and troubleshooting. She is a little bit persistent to keep me focused and moving the project along, including advocating for details she thinks will make a difference, which I appreciate, as sometimes I have to think about a recommendation for a week or two before I can "see" it. Her bills are detailed and understandable and I feel like I am getting exactly what I need in the project. I would recomend her to anyone who wants a capable partner for creating beautiful rooms. I'm excited to see the end results!

hired Janet for approximately one year after she was referred to me by my realtor when I purchased a new residence in Santa Monica . I retained Janet as a designer and project manager for a complete remodel of a 2-bedroom condominium. The first thing that impressed me about Janet was her professionalism. She was always prepared, organized and presented several options when discussing a key decision point or project management issue. Her experience and business maturity helped to navigate through an arduous permitting process with the City of Santa Monica . Further, she anticipated questions and/or obstacles and presented recommendations to best deal with a given situation. In nearly every case, I simply followed her recommendation as it had clearly been carefully considered; I grew to trust her judgment completely. In addition to her professional demeanor, Janet possesses a creative eye that she effortlessly matches with the tastes and preferences of her client. Design decisions quickly became “rubber stamp” processes for me as her client – her selections were almost always synchronized with my own style. When our opinions differed, Janet was always the consummate professional and offered pros, cons or demurred as appropriate. As I mentioned earlier, I grew to trust Janet – not only as a design consultant, but also as a business professional and human being. As an example, in an instance where a contractor legitimately misinterpreted the intent of some instructions, Janet stepped in and personally covered the extra expense. She holds a high standard of integrity, and can always be trusted to do the right thing.
