Nothing says elegance, comfort, function and respectful engagement than having Janis touch your dwelling to make it your home. Janis was always cognizant of presenting options (rather than 'musts') from which to choose and presenting those after researching what we wanted and needed - research time about other parts of our lives rather than just materials and colours to put together. Approachable and warm, Janis gave pros and cons not only with her suggestions but when we participated ourselves by either asking questions or searching online ourselves to try and answer our own 'What ifs?'! But that was us more important to ensure success was Janis' hands on the other part of the project puzzle whereby our contractor, sub-trades and even building inspectors were willing to discuss with her and her team what made both design sense and common sense for three timeframes; during the build, the short term as we moved in, and the long term as we progress through life's stages with family and friends. Working with Janis has been like having a friend and objective professional alongside us since day one and even now after completion. We couldn't thank her more every day for her guidance, including with random sms text messages proclaiming how well things continue to flow, work and look!

Hiring Janis has been one of the best decisions my husband and I have made with building our dream home. Janis' expertise, advice, eye for design, and connections in the industry have been vital to our project. She worked within our budget and understood what we wanted (and when we didn't know what we wanted she gave us options that worked with what we were looking for). This is the 2nd time I have hired Janis. Previously in 2002 to design and oversee a large home renovation. Based on my experience with Janis then, I decided to hire her again including not even considering another designer. I knew Janis would deliver as promised. Janis and her team helped us with the original renovation of our 1912 house. At the time, we left 2 rooms in a basic state. Recently, we realized what we wanted to with those spaces and immediately asked for Janis' help. We couldn't be happier with their great service and design! My experience with the team at Janis Gosbee Design Inc. was great…again! I worked with Janis years ago on a commercial project and recently retained her again for my residence. At my request, she was able to increase the number of bedrooms and bathrooms in my upper floor with creativity and provided a few different options to choose from. We worked together to find the best solution. It was a very successful process and I am thrilled with the result: large bedrooms and full second bathroom. We also completed a full reno to the kitchen and updated the entire main floor. JGD Inc. also sourced the furniture which was a huge help as it is very time consuming, so narrowing down the options out there was great.
