I recently hired Jodi for color consultation on our home remodel. I'm terrible with choosing paint color, and my husband is color blind, so we needed some expert help to choose paint color for the entire home. Jodi was a joy to work with! She has a great eye for style and helped push me out of my comfort zone to choose colors that would be fun and interesting. She was very professional and efficient and was able to keep on time and budget for my project. We're thrilled with the final results! Jodi of, Janzen Design, was so wonderful to work with, and I will tell you why. I am a fire victim, who lost everything in the Tubbs fire in 2017. When it came time to design the inside of my house, I was lost and uninspired. Then I met with Jodi. She began to lay out some great designs and was careful not to overwhelm me. We made trips to the construction site so I could see her ideas in a concrete way. We also visited stores for kitchens, bathrooms and furniture. This was so valuable to me because she showed me products I would have never thought about. She was creative, innovative and professional. Working with her was so easy and fun. Jodi helped me immensely with her guidance and fabric suggestions for a reupholstering project. My set of vintage 1950s chairs needed a MAJOR overhaul. Jodi helped me pick a fabric that was strong enough to stand up to a house with kids and pets, yet stunningly beautiful and striking—something I’m so proud to have in my house. She helped me make a bold choice that I’ll be thrilled with for many, many years. I’ll also mention that Jodi found the right reupholsterer for the complicated job. She even delivered the chairs for me!

My husband and I are design challenged so we decided to hire a professional designer when it came time to remodel our circa 1970’s master bathroom. We chose Janzen design and we couldn’t be more thrilled with the final results. Right from the beginning Jodi Janzen led our project from early fantasy to solid on the ground results. Our project was challenged with significant structural constraints (irregular shaped room with no right angles, chimney flues from a downstairs fire place, and interior load-bearing walls). Undeterred Jodi began by providing us 3 alternate layouts that helped us maximize space while minimizing construction. The detailed conceptual drawings she prepared for us helped us visualize the possibilities and select the final layout. Jodi then worked with our ideas and guided us to help chose all the materials to implement those ideas. Being busy we didn’t have time or inclination to walk through warehouses or stores or spend hours online browsing immense selections of materials. Jodi did all the heavy lifting and brought/sent us a limited set of choices/ideas that made selection easy. She handled all the measuring, sourcing, ordering, (and occasional returning) of materials and gave us detailed cost lists every step of the way. We found that her sources of materials were far superior than those that we were familiar with and that in many cases she had established relationships with suppliers that provided us significant discounts on retail pricing. Jodi was also exceptional at finding us two highly qualified contractors who gave us detailed bids for the work after our own chosen contractor failed to give us a satisfactory bid for the work. Jodi then provided detailed design drawings that not only were acceptable as use in lieu of engineering drawings for the city permit but also doubled as detailed construction drawings for the contractor. After we chose our contractor Jodi met frequently with them to overcome inevitable problems as they occurred. She also ordered materials in phases to coincide with the schedule for the contractor as we had limited onsite storage. Jodi and our contractor worked together as a team throughout the construction of the new bathroom to anticipate problems, work through solutions, and ensure the project kept moving towards completion. Our final bathroom remodel was delivered on budget and only minimally over schedule due to unforeseen circumstances (North Bay fire storms that significantly delayed materials and contractor time). We fully credit Jodi with directing our project from initial concept to final completion. We couldn’t have done such a major project without her. The cost of her services was a small fraction of the overall cost of the project and were highly value added. We would most certainly recommend Janzen Design to others.

Jodi was great to work with and helped us with our dining room space and guest bedroom (which is much more functional now!). She was easy to work with, listened to our thoughts/opinions, and gave us ideas/options that met our aesthetic and budget needs. She has a great eye for how best to use a space!

I hired Jodi Janzen of Janzen Design for two projects; my master bedroom and my office conference room. Jodi has beautiful taste and lots of great ideas. She is also very easy and pleasant to work with. I'm thrilled with both projects. Jodi was able to help me achieve a calm, soothing retreat for my master bedroom - just the perfect compromise between minimalist but not sparse. And she helped us upgrade our office conference room to what is now a very comfortable and sophisticated setting to meet with clients. Right after the change, one of our clients even asked where we got our beautiful table!!

Jodi is so great to work with! Our dining room was desperate for a refresh and she really listened to our requests and understood our need for an "adult" (but family friendly) dining room. She's a mom too so she gets that we wanted a nice space for us to enjoy but it also has to be durable. Jodi makes the design process easy by offering smart choices and processing all orders so you don't have to do a thing. She adapts well to feedback and follows through on her timing commitments. She makes sure you're happy with the overall project. She even installed our new window coverings herself! We are so happy with our new dining room and can't wait for her to help with our next project!!

I absolutely loved working with Jodi. She took the time to really understand my taste, and she offered excellent options (almost all of which I loved). Most importantly, she made my life incredibly easy by working closely with the contractor, bringing me samples, checking in on the project, providing solutions for design changes, and generally just helping me manage the project while I was working full time. She was also incredibly responsive. Our remodel included ripping out a guest bedroom, bathroom and laundry room and redesigning the entire thing. It was a great experience working with Jodi!!

Jodi is an extremely talented designer who is professional, organized, and easy to work with. She recently helped us furnish our new home and we are thrilled with the results. Jodi has an excellent eye! She excels in unstanding her client’s taste right away, saving lots of time and energy. She has helped me on a couple of projects, both big and small and has done amazing job!

Jodi was so fun to work with, I felt like we went through my entire house and she gave me multiple easy to implement suggestions. I love the window treatments in my kitchen and breakfast area, they add the perfect amount of impact! Jodi also selected the right amount of swatches to choose from for my breakfast chairs and bench. Enough so I could play with pattern and texture but not so many that I got confused or overwhelmed. Jodi is enthusiastic yet balanced with a relaxed demeanor!
