We worked with Jason to help us redecorate our main floor, which includes a living room, dining room, kitchen and entryway. He did wonderful job of understanding our tastes and needs while developing a design that is as beautiful as it is functional. He helped us with the layout, selection, and installation of rugs, window treatments, fabrics, and a wide array of furniture and accessories. Sometimes he presented us options in our home and other times joined us at retail stores to guide us through the selection process. He also coordinated the manufacturing of three custom pieces, including a dining room table, a kitchen table, and television cabinet with a powered lift so that we don’t always have to have the television present in our living room. Whenever there was a question or concern, he followed up immediately with excellent results. Jason was easy to work with and his process was collaborative, which was very important to us. He also seems to have strong relationships with his extensive array of suppliers and manufacturers.

Jason did an outstanding job designing our renovation in Portland's SW Waterfront district. The previous decor was a bit dated. Jason worked diligently to update the look of the entire condominium. He was very collaborative and presented lots of options with materials, fixtures, paint colors and fabrics. I highly recommend him to handle any project you might have.

I hired Jason Ball Interiors as the designer for a residential remodel including kitchen, bathrooms, flooring throughout the house, a fireplace surround, small display area, and recessed lighting. Jason is easy to talk to, communicates well, and is very organized. Since I was not initially clear what style I wanted, Jason asked me to create a small set of photos I liked on houzz. He asked key questions and listened carefully and was very quick to grasp what I wanted. Even more importantly, he was open to modifying his designs iteratively as I learned my own preferences while sticking to a budget. Jason accompanied me to select tile, plumbing fixtures, and hardware, simplifying choices which otherwise I would have found overwhelming. While I primarily selected appliances, lighting fixtures, and paint, Jason offered advice and played a critical role in assuring coherence throughout the house. Jason is a consummate professional, always mindful of relations between customer, designer, and contractor. Jason definitely put me, the customer, first. Jason helped me to find an excellent contractor, and he was a strong voice for me both at routine and non-routine junctures during construction (e.g., problem-solving the inevitable surprises found during a remodel). I think he spent many more hours on my project than he anticipated but did so honorably and cheerfully. Jason met my very high standards and respected my penchant for detail, and I am exceptionally happy with the actual results. I give Jason my highest recommendation.

We worked with Jason for a major remodel of our kitchen and laundry room... Where we ripped everything down to the studs and started fresh. Jason was a pleasure to work with and helped to remove a lot of the stress from the project. There were hundreds of decisions to make, but Jason made everyone of them enjoyable. In the of Spring 2013, my husband and I bought a 20 year old home. We planned to extensively remodel the kitchen, 3 bathrooms, and update several other areas including master bedroom, dining, living room, and family room. As we started to plan and brainstorm ideas, we realized this was a huge project and we would need some professional help to make the final outcome amazing, as well as blending new and old parts of the house. We searched on Houzz for Portland area designers and found Jason Ball Interiors. We liked his ideas and projects on Houzz. Jason and his team were very easy to work with. They brought fresh ideas, while incorporating our thoughts and ideas, perspective, and organization to make our project a reality. Although we did not establish a firm budget at the start of the project, Jason and his team were respectful and accommodating to provide alternative ideas and products when cost was an issue. We would highly recommend Jason Ball for any interior design project big or small.

My wife and I hired Jason Ball in 2012 to help us with a major remodel of our master bedroom. We had found Jason through Houzz.com and really liked the look of his work via his website. The remodel we did was fairly ambitious as we did a complete demo of the existing bathroom (except for retaining and repainting cabinetry) and took a traditional look to a much more modern feel. The process Jason uses to learn about client's tastes and preferences is very collaborative and unique. We spent time at his downtown Portland office initially mutually going through some magazines and websites so that he could get a feel for our style and tastes. Jason listened intently through this back and forth process and we really felt that he had a good understanding of what we wanted. He then visited our house and spent a significant amount of time looking at our space, taking measurements and pictures, and continuing to listen to what we wanted. From there, Jason went to work on coming up with some preliminary design ideas, all of which were very thought out and creative. We worked together to tweak and identify a final design goal, from which he then turned into a turnkey design to build blueprint for one of the general contractors that he partners with. The design to construction pass off was seamless and the end result exceeded our expectations. The design fee that Jason charged was money well spent from my wife and I's perspective. I would HIGHLY recommend Jason Ball Interiors for your interior design needs.

Jason and I worked together on a job three years ago. His ability to get inside a client's head is amazing. He listens and serves up exactly what the customer ordered instead of trying to sell his favorite (or the current) esthetic.

Kush has had the pleasure of assisting Jason and Emily with several high end clients. In our experience, JBI is a personable firm with professional execution. Our most recent project together involved five handmade rugs. Three of the pieces were custom designed by JBI. Throughout the design process, Jason was an excellent communicator and collaborator. Both traits came into constant play during our work together. He guided his client through pattern, scale, color, and several renderings before the rugs were approved. Jason arrived at a balance that served the overall design scheme and made the client happy. No small feat! JBI has sourced a wide range of Kush rugs, from modern to traditional to bespoke. The varied rugs reflect their diverse client base and an ability to seamlessly navigate design motifs. JBI is a premier firm.

I recently worked with Jason on a project in SW Portland. The interaction I had with Jason was the best I've had with any of the designers in our area. Jason is very intelligent and articulate. He explained everything in detail. He is very skilled in communicating with both the clients and myself. Also, very friendly... This guy knows his stuff and left the actual design work for the custom doors to me once he established that I too knew what I was doing. What a relief to find someone like Jason to work with here in Portland. If you are in our area of the US, and need a designer, contact him first and forget about interviewing anyone else.

Working with Jason and Emily on my master suite remodel was a great experience! They were able to translate my interests and likes into a design that suited the overall architecture and style of my home. As we spent time together over the months getting to know one another, we expanded our focus and redesigned my daughters bedrooms as well. The finished product exceeded my wildest expectations and I have a space that is comfortable and liveable, yet elegant and up to date. The "little touches" that we have incorporated in each of the rooms really are the icing on the cake, be in a pop of color in a footstool, or a unique light fixture. Emily and Jason encouraged me to consider options and expand my thinking, without breaking my budget, and I'm so pleased with the results.

Jason did a complete kitchen and main floor bathroom remodel for us. We loved him from our first meeting. He listened to us and really worked with us to get what we wanted. We hired Jason to redecorate our dining room, living room, and guest room. He took our ideas and turned them into something beautiful. His idea of using the large light fixture to bring down the scale of the living room was genius. Every time we have guests over, they all stop and comment on that section of the house. Jason and his team did an outstanding job on our masterbath remodel. He was very good about listening to the styles we like and the items we wanted addressed. Our bathroom was VERY 90's outdated and our end result is something that most definitely exceeded our expectations. He was very hands on from a design standpoint and throughout the construction process. Jason is very trustworthy and a great professional. I would hire him and recommend him for any remodel project.

Remodel's have their unique challenges & these two professionals did a remarkable job of communicating design ideas as well as assuring me on many levels through the entire process. Simply put, Jason translated our wish list, profiled our likes and dislikes, observed our surroundings and cues from our travels, kept our budget in mind and created a master bathroom that exceeded our expectations.

We hired Jason as our interior designer to help us w/our master bedroom/bathroom/walk-in-closet remodel. The first formal meeting was an in-depth "getting to know you" session @ our home and allowed us to share all of our specific wants/desires/dislikes & general direction of what we had in our heads. The next face-to-face meeting w/Jason was a review of the 3D rendering of what he had created based on our previous conversations. His concept was better than we expected, and it was confidence-inspiring to actually see that he truly comprehended what we wanted. After reviewing costs/material suggestions/time frames/schedule of events & expectations of the 3 of us, we gladly scheduled for the project to begin. Jason brought his enthusiasm, creativity & professionalism to the project from day one. For Jason, design is a 2-way street: he brings his own ideas and allows us to introduce ours thru-out the project. For example, we found a light fixture that he used as inspiration in designing a custom piece for our bathroom specifically. He then further elaborated on that element by designing pendant lights for a truly unique & striking look. He constantly relayed his desires for our project to everyone he/we worked with (contractor, cabinetmaker & all local artisans involved). Overall, we are thrilled w/our finished product! We trusted Jason from the beginning & we have not been disappointed. His commitment to our project was obvious & very much appreciated. His esthetic skills & obvious experience are evident by our finished master-suite that we have the pleasure to enjoy each & every day. We look forward to working w/him again.

I will give Jason the highest recommendation for his brilliant work he did designing my master bathroom. Working with Jason is easy and he even makes it FUN since he is easy going, immensely creative and truly a joy to be around.
