Jeanne Finnerty Interior Design

I fell in love with a kitchen design of Jeanne’s that I found on the Houzz website, and was then thrilled to discover that her office was close enough to my home that we could work together. At our first meeting, I found Jeanne professional and very comfortable to talk with about what we were looking for in renovating our new three bedroom condominium in Marblehead. Having done a very large renovation on our previous home and knowing my own design aesthetic well, I was looking to work with someone collaboratively who could respect my strong opinions and bring their own strong design sense to the project. Jeanne was perfect. We gutted the kitchen and master bathroom, took out a wall, put in a pantry/mudroom where a pantry had been, and added a fireplace. Jeanne’s space planning is excellent, and all of the projects came out exactly right. Jeanne also helped with recommendations for color schemes, furniture, stunning light fixtures, window treatments and sourced a beautiful bolection marble fireplace surround. Her design eye is beautiful. We truly worked together, and Jeanne was professional, easy going and fun to work with. I highly recommend her!

Jeanne is great to work with, very professional, mindful of budget and has a great aesthetic. She helped us re-do our kitchen, drew plans for our mudroom and helped with color schemes for various rooms. She made great recommendations on updating some existing fixtures so we could stay within budget and also helped us with larger design choices. She has great vision and is very flexible. Jeanne clearly has a passion for design and is fun to work with.

Jeanne's work is extremely high quality. She is flexible, meticulous and has lovely taste. We gutted our kitchen and redesigned the dining area and living room of a small three bedroom condo. The first thing that anyone who walked in our door said was "WOW, what a gorgeous kitchen!" which was promptly followed by either "This countertop is stunning" or "I just love your cabinets!". She took a small kitchen area and gave us an unbelievable increase in storage space AND walking space. Jeanne was nice enough to let me accompany her to the Design Center and took the time to look at a variety of options with me for the living room furniture. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because one of the fabrics I chose was on back-order and she didn't tell me this ahead of time (I would have just chosen something else) so as it turned out, the couch that was supposed to take 8 weeks took... I don't know, a lot longer. It wasn't Jeanne's fault it took so long, but I would have just liked to know in advance. Jeanne also chose light fixtures which we LOVED and window treatments which were stunning. She did a great job working with the space and we also were really happy with the contractors and other professionals she recommended.

We found Jeanne via the Houzz based on her work displayed throughout the site. Following our first meeting with her at her office in Charlestown, we really felt that we had made the right choice. Jeanne took the time to deeply understand our lifestyle, design aesthetic and we really connected with her during that initial meeting. Jeanne was very helpful to walk us through her design process, scoping of the project and then ultimately hone in what was most important to us. It was our first renovation project and it was very helpful to have someone guide us through the process thoughtfully. One of the things that we loved about Jeanne is that she was very good about presenting options based on our requests and working within our budget. Jeanne provided us with design options and construction quotes for five or six small to mid-sized a-la carte projects which was instrumental in deciding what fit within our budget and what was the best investment. We live in a loft style condo in Cambridge and needed some more storage, she helped us with that and we are ecstatic with the results. We would not hesitate to use her again and we highly recommend her to you. One side bonus is that she shares office space with her husband architect.

I was looking for an interior designer to help me with a plan, primarily, for my basement/family room for a new construction townhouse in Sudbury along with layouts for various other rooms in the house, paint colors, lighting, kitchen back splash, etc. After looking at a few portfolios online and cold calling some designers, I decided to go with Jeanne because I loved her work (it had a welcoming, warm feel) and because she seemed friendly (in a quiet sort of way) and down-to-earth on the phone. Being a graphic designer myself and being on a tight budget, I wasn't convinced that I was doing the right thing in hiring an interior designer. In just one meeting with Jeanne on site and a few emails later, I was proud of my ability to scan out a top-notch designer and fun individual to work with. I was also completely convinced of the value that Jeanne will bring to my future home. Jeanne is a talented, thoughtful designer. She cares about how a space will be used as much as she does of the final "look and feel" that it will acquire. She has the ability to think about the big picture and zoom in on the details at the same time. She is professional in her approach. Not only does she respond in a timely manner but has accommodated all my panic calls and 'crunch time' needs. I have found a 'life-long' interior designer to work with.
