At Aga John we always enjoy working with designers who are creative, knowledgeable and well-organized in their approach to a project. Some just seem to have a knack for capturing their clients' vision and finding the right piece. We appreciated Jennifer's professional approach to her work and look forward to working with her again.

Jennifer help me turn a house into my home. I had recently purchased a house in Noe Valley and quickly realized I would need to remodel pretty much everything down to the studs. After 8 months navigating contractors, missed milestones and budget overruns..I ended up with a beautiful structure. The house turned out better than I expected however....it was still a very small house and none of my old furnishing seem fit in the space both physically too big, and visually all wrong. I tried to find a few retail furniture pieces on my own but nothing seemed to work and those pieces just ended up being costly mistakes that I couldn't return.
Enter Jennifer Gustafson! I knew right away that I would like working with Jennifer. Jennifer is very authentic.....and she is unpretentious about the design process. I was very comfortable telling Jennifer what I liked and disliked without thinking there is a right and wrong answer. Also, after a costly renovation, Jennifer understood that I didn't have a limitless budget and she had great ideas of how to repurpose some of my old furniture into amazing new ones as well as mixing in inexpensive retail items with the more expensive customs things. Jennifer was always clear with me about what furnishing should be investments and what items I could save money on. She really took time to understand my aesthetic while also helping me break out of my usual style and take more risks with color, texture etc... And believe me....I really needed to break away from my "color" palette of gray, brown and black! Jennifer was able to create a space that was really different than anything I would have done on my own and yet it was perfectly suited for me. When my friends and guests enter the house for the first time they always say...yup...this is exactly how I would imagine your house would look like! Jennifer created a space that was unique, modern yet comfortable and very personalized to me. I remember saying at the first design consultation....Jennifer....this is a very small house and when people walk in I don't want them to notice that it's less than 1000 sqft..... I want them to say WOW this is amazing! Well that's exactly what I got....WOW....this is amazing! Thanks Jennifer!

Jennifer was a great designer for our kitchen redesign as well as other design work we had at our condo. She has a modern aesthetic and thinks about a lot of things that we never would have thought of (e.g. ease of cabinetry, lots of outlets, etc.).
We were thrilled with the end result, and everyone loves the work we had done. Jennifer was really easy to work with and also selected the best contractor we have ever worked with.

We used Jennifer to help us with the remodel of the kitchen and bathrooms in our Eichler home. We were looking for someone who could give us the modern style we wanted and we found her! She listened to our vision for the spaces and helped us through the entire process. She drafted the blueprints, helped us review contractor bids and supervised the construction process. She recommended finishes and furnishings that we love. Jennifer is professional, organized and fun to work with. We couldn’t be happier with how our remodel turned out!

I hired Jennifer Gustafson for a couple of reasons very important to me. 1) I am a Business Feng Shui and needed someone with the energetic sensibilities to match the work I needed done with a commercial client. 2) This particular client had a tired space whose color were based on heavy and outdated branding colors. The space was also a hoge-poge of mixed furniture and company marketing and signage placement from venders that were slapped up on the walls as soon as new items came in. .3) Jennifer's keen eye, lazar focused into the the situation effectively while giving the owner a clear cut plan to follow. She gave direction on color, culling down the product placement, selectively choosing a wall on which to place important memorabilia pieces important to the owner. His business received a ton of client appreciation, staff seems more productive due to subtle shifts incorporated, color, rearranging and removing outdated furnishings.
The client is extremely happy with the new look and end result. I highly recommend Jennifer for her highly skilled talents of taking a tired outdated look and transform the space into an entire new look look that produces a sense of pride for the staff and owner, and customers felt that ripple into their experience of being in the space since it's renovation.

It was a pleasure to work with Jennifer on this albeit small but impressive staging job for a small Church Street condo. Jennifer was easy to work with and clearly laid out my jobs' scope and timeframe.
I was hired to make minor repairs, paint a number of walls, and hang a TV. As the job progressed the scope increased to refinishing a butcher block counter. Additionally we ended up having fun assembling and placing furniture together. All of our collective work was finished in the timeframe required by the Realtor who would be showing the place almost as soon as we finished.
The end result was an impressive and beautiful design job the would put most other stagers to shame!
I was promptly paid for my services which of course is always welcome.
I will continue to help out Jennifer with her future needs as they arise.

Jennifer and I recently worked together on a beautiful condo remodel in the SOMA area of San Francisco. Jennifer as Interior Designer and I as Project Manger for the General Contractor. To my delight, Jennifer holds all of the best cards in her deck of working on high end projects. Fantastic design, the ability to translate that vision in to drawings and SKs, excellent communication with all the various members of the construction team, working flexibly in the field to create solutions with existing conditions, fast response time to keep the work moving forward on schedule, a careful consideration of the client's budget, and the list could go on!
I quite happily recommend Jennifer as a wonderful Designer to have on any project big or small. I hope that I have the opportunity to work with her again.

Working with Jennifer Gustafson has been an extraordinary pleasure.
Jennifers design expertise is unsurpassed. She has a eye for detail and function that was reflected in a very successful final product. Our client could not have been more pleased or satisfied with the project.
As a builder, her responiveness to questions and overcoming surprise conditions was very refreshing. Jennifers professional and quick response during the process of planning and building made our experience enjoyable and reaction time prompt.
Our firm could not recommend anyone with more confidence. We are proud to have completed this work with Jennifer.

JGID was our stager for our condo in San Francisco CA. Jennifer exceeded all expectations with this project ensuring that the condo was presented in a way that potential buyers would love. She began by delivering a detailed plan of dates of execution, contacts and estimates of the project. All involved were impressed by her professionalism. She collaborated with us on necessary repairs that the condo needed to avoid any buyers from looking at anything other than the amazing design of the staging that Jennifer presented. When the home began to show almost 250 potential buyers and realtors walked through and all were impressed by how the home presented itself thanks to Jennifer. We were so excited that 2 weeks after being on the market the home sold for way way over asking price. We atribute a lot of this to Jennifers great design and the rest to a wonderful real estate agent. Lastly, the new buyers were so impressed with the design of the condo as well they ended up buying a good portion of the staging furniture. Signed, very happy customer.

I hired Jennifer when I was doing remodel my condo, from a full remodel through furnishings and decor. She had many fantastic and creative ideas that turned my condo into amazing place. She listened well to my direction and brought ideas of her own which took mine and made them even better. The project was well managed that made the whole process fun and joyful.

Jennifer was the designer for my company's new office headquarters in San Francisco. It was a tough project for a few reasons: the space was gorgeous but old and had been aesthetically abused over the years; we had new use in mind for it that presented some tricky challenges; and I wanted the guns set to stun: we are a quality obsessed company with plenty of style, and our clients are big and sophisticated. It had to represent our brand.
Jennifer didn't bat an eye at the challenge but what an eye for design she has. She gave us innovation, went big when I felt we needed it, went cost-effective wherever she could, often talking me into a less expensive alternative that didn't sacrifice aesthetics. Her commitment to the project was unflagging and uncompromising and she was always there when we needed her.
As a result we got exactly what we were looking for and then some. My own people love the space and I've watched clients' jaws drop many times upon first seeing it. We would hire her again without hesitation and I recommend her without hesitation.
