We absolutely love how our bathroom remodel turned out. Joanie really came through and delivered an amazing space that is even better than we had envisioned. We were on a very tight budget and timeframe and there were some difficult hurdles to overcome but Joanie worked quickly and efficiently and is a dedicated professional who goes the extra mile to make sure her clients are completely satisfied down to the last detail. Her design plan included consolidating our two vanities into one, enlarging doorways to open the space as well as the selection of new tile, flooring, fixtures, lighting, wallcovering, doors, hardware and accessories. As first-time homebuyers in 2019, my partner and I were ecstatic about adding some personalized aesthetic to our new house but on a budget. When we met with Joanie, she advised us on how to achieve this goal. She was adamant that a fresh coat of high-quality paint in the right places, with the right colors and some new but simple and inexpensive baseboard would do wonders for achieving the homey warmth, brightness and style we were looking for -- all without knocking down walls or making other costly structural changes. Per Joanie's recommendations, we spent a couple hundred dollars more on interior paint for our 1,300 sq-ft house but her decades of interior design experience, and keen eye for making the most of an existing space, resulted in saving us thousands of dollars in construction labor and materials. We're already looking forward to working with Joanie on our next project -- redesigning the outdoor living space!

Joanie has an innate, talented and experienced eye for what works and what doesn't work. She enthusiastically communicates design principles and concepts so as to bring her clients into the creative design process, all the while being sensitive to the budget. As a result, she creates excellent value by providing education, options, and her own recommendations. While working through a project, all her inputs resulted in excellent outcomes. Last year Joanie Jensen Design & Home assisted us with the design, furniture layout and furnishing of our first floor living room & dining room and it turned out beautiful! This year as were about to embark on the design of the master bedroom and secondary bedrooms a huge issue arose with our pool. The previous owner had painted the pool which was now brushing off and our pool cleaner was no longer willing to clean it and so we were faced with having to resurface this huge pool! We soon realized this was going to be an enormous expense but Joanie assured us she would be there through the entire process as well as provide all of the waterline tile and coping selections and design updates that would be needed. She resourced many beautiful selections, all within our budget and we are thrilled with the results! She suggested we eliminate all the old metal railings and slide and update the old pool with an Acapulco Shelf with an umbrella sleeve and it is incredible! Our pool looks like a resort hotel and we are so happy with the results. It was a time-consuming process with many details to work out but Joanie was there every step of the way to guide us and we are grateful for all of her help and design expertise, we could not have done it without her!

Several years ago, Joanie Jensen Design & Home assisted us in selecting our exterior house paint colors and we have loved the results for years. So, when it came time to repaint our house this year, we decided to consult Joanie to get her input. I was ready to just repaint it the same color however, Joanie suggested we go for something more updated and modern and gave us several color selections to consider. She was very excited about one in particular and although it was much darker and completely different from the existing color, we decided to just go for it, and we are so happy we did. We have received so many compliments and are really enjoying the new color, it feels like a new house!

We recently moved into a much larger home and were overwhelmed by the idea of furnishing and designing it, let alone the cost of doing so. We needed assistance with paint selection, furniture layout, draperies and the purchase of furniture, art and accessories for the first floor. We were referred to Joanie Jensen Design & Home by a friend and decided to go ahead with an initial design consultation. We immediately felt at ease with Joanie as she is warm and friendly and she really listened to our concerns. She outlined numerous ways to achieve a custom look at a reasonable price so we decided to move ahead with the design plan she suggested and we are thrilled with the results! Joanie incorporated many of our family antiques with modern pieces and it looks amazing. The entire process took about two and a half months and was really quite effortless on our part. She stuck to our agreed upon budget and everything moved alone as scheduled. We have received so many compliments on our home that it is not only beautiful but comfortable, interesting and unique. We look forward to calling upon her to assist us with the second floor next year!

Joanie Jensen Design & Home recently remodeled our bathroom. This bathroom has been an unimpressive, outdated, small & very unattractive space for the past couple decades we have lived here. Joanie came in and immediately suggested that we relocate the heater adjacent to the bathroom to the upstairs attic, so as to open up the bathroom & allow us to relocate the toilet to the old heater space. She also suggested that we replace the existing door with a pocket door to further increase the useable space. Don’t know why I hadn’t thought of all of this myself but these turned out to be incredible ideas! This bathroom is now basically 10 square feet larger, which doesn’t sound like much but with the toilet now in the alcove & the pocket door hidden in the wall the bathroom looks huge & we no longer see the toilet straight on when entering the room, all huge positives. All of the tile, fixtures, lighting & selections she made are beautiful & were well worth the investment. Her tile drawings clearly illustrated every wall in great detail so there were no surprises. This bathroom is now the best room in the house! Joanie also suggested we replace all of our interior doors & front door to really update our home & add value to it. The addition of pocket doors in the den was a huge improvement over the old antiquated louvered bi-fold doors, and adding a dramatic front door with glass and a side light really opened up the entry with beautiful natural light. It is stunning! I would highly recommend Joanie Jensen. She is an absolute professional, easy going & fun to work with, on time & on budget. Five stars all the way!

I hired Joanie Jensen Design and Home to help me furnish my new home. I lived in a traditional home and was moving to a modern home in which the majority of my existing furniture did not fit into the new space. Joanie went to the new home before we moved in to get an idea of the style and size of the home and determine what furniture, art and rug pieces would be needed for each room. She then went to our old house and went through all of our furniture and art to determine which of our existing pieces we could make work in the new home and which we could not. She then went to work completely furnishing every room our new home including 4 bedrooms (3 kids, one master), 4 bathrooms, living room, family room, dining room and breakfast nook with furniture, rugs, and artwork. Each and every room turned out perfectly! I don't have a single regret! Joanie respected my style, opinions and budget throughout the process. She created a beautifully furnished, modern home with modern and fun, but functional and comfortable furnishings and bold, unique accent pieces to add personality. All 3 of the kid's rooms represent their very different personalities beautifully and playfully! The master bedroom is a haven that I love to retire to every evening and we have enjoyed entertaining in our common spaces with plenty of fun seating. Joanie was an absolute pleasure to work with. She was respectful of my time, budget, style and opinions. She was easy to get ahold of and very reliable. She made the nightmare of completely furnishing a 3600 square foot home a fun experience. I give Joanie Jensen Home & Design my highest recommendation without hesitation.

I hired Joani to help select all the finishes for a major master bathroom remodel in Palos Verdes. She created the boards - selecting everything from the accessories to the custom cabinetry --- and designed the tile lay-out. She was creative and very efficient with her time. Our new office space is more than twice the size of our old office and needed a tremendous amount of updating and work as the previous tenant occupied the space for more than 20 years. Once again, we called upon Joanie Jensen Design & Home to assist us with the space planning, flooring, paint selections, and selection of new office furniture. Joanie immediately went to work to create a beautiful color scheme that complimented our existing furniture and artwork and that also served to unified the entire space. This resulted in a dynamic, functional and very comfortable space to work in. There were several design challenges to overcome as this space had originally been a racket ball court with 19’ ceilings and uneven floors, as well as a tight budget to complete such a large space. Joanie worked closely with the subs and building owner to arrive at the perfect solutions to these challenges. She is very easy to work with, is highly professional and extremely creative. She also worked within our budget and completed the work on time. Joanie has tremendous energy and a true passion for her trade. It is a pleasure to know and work with her for the past several years. She is a great listener and was consistently responsive and excited about our project. We recommend her highly and without hesitation!
