Julie helped us redesign our den and added a gallery wall and side tables to our living room. Within a few minutes of being in our home, she immediately had a vision of what we would do. Julie has an amazing eye for space and design, and is a true artist in what she does. At the same time, her designs are functional and approachable for us as a family. My children can live, play, and feel at home in our living spaces. While we wanted a room that looked presentable and current, at the end of the day we really need a space we can live in. Most importantly, Julie helped us make our house a home. She went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed during the design and install process, and we are so grateful we found her. Julie is also fun, easy to work with, and kept our project on budget. We would recommend her to anyone, and hope we have the opportunity to work with her again!

Julie helped us re-do and re-fresh our living room, kitchen, den, and bathroom. She turned a bland military base house into our home. She helped us pick pieces that we can move into our next home/duty station. She was great to work with and did an AMAZING job. She exceed our expectations and added so many wonderful details to the space- using our own treasures and finding unique artwork, plants, candles etc. We just wished we had hired her years ago. One of the best decisions we ever made. We feel at home now and enjoy our space so much!

Julie is an expert at her craft. She seamlessly integrated family treasures and the latest design trends into our rooms. Working with us continually and intimately, she created magazine worthy rooms within a reasonable budget. Have and would recommend to others!

We hired Julie to remotely design some built-ins for us on an oddly shaped, very large blank wall in our living room. Julie kept our style and the needs of our family in mind with the options she gave us. She even recommended adding trim and molding to the blank space above our fireplace, which we wouldn't have thought of but immediately loved. This is our first house and our first real project, so we were grateful that she kept in contact with the contractor once construction began. Julie made sure we were comfortable and happy with the work throughout the project. When it was all finished, we were beyond thrilled with how it looks. Everyone who has seen our living room gushes about the design, the colors, and the hardware and sconces. We could not be more pleased with our living room and will be excited to have her help us with the next phase of our update when we replace our furniture and rug!

Julie designed our new office and gave us advice for our kitchen. She had to meet my husband's desire to keep costs low with my pickiness over design. She made the process easy, budget-friendly, and kid-friendly! We would use her again!

I reached out to Julie to design my sitting room and she did an incredible job! She is both professional and personal - she took great care in understanding my needs for the space and combined that with my personal style to create a room that I feel like I belong in. Julie is amazing! She really paid attention to my goals and presented the most innovative ideas for some challenging areas of my building plans. I never feel like an item on her to do list because she has an enthusiasm that cannot be faked. She has a genuine passion for her work and my project. There is a lot more design work that needs to be done and I'm lucky to have Julie as a partner in all of it. 5 stars is not nearly enough.

I had Julie help me with my 1920 master bath that was in desperate need of help. Julie was prompt and super friendly. Before the actual meeting, she suggested I send her ideas of what I might like in the room. This proved very helpful as we were both on the same page when she arrived. Her ideas were fabulous and constantly forthcoming. As we were bouncing ideas off each other, she immediately came up with something fabulous that I never could have dreamed of. I know this master bath is going to be a KNOCKOUT!

Julie was professional, efficient and a joy to work with. I had a fantastic time working with Julie on updating our master bedroom/bath and living room. My husband and I wanted these two spaces to be brighter and updated from the usual traditional style. Julie worked her magic and brought in beautiful fabrics with lots color. Furniture was reupholstered and also new pieces added. Julie also custom painted an art piece for our living room. The painting is beautiful. Mission accomplished and we absolute love it! Julie is extremely warm hearted, kind individual and she made this process fun. I definitely recommend Julie for any interior projects. Julie is AWESOME!

Julie is warm, sunny, friendly, and exudes the “girl next door” image. We chose her because we thought she understood us best. During our initial meeting she asked questions about our likes/dislikes and walked through the rest of our house to get a better feel for our tastes. Her design fit what we didn’t know we were missing! She took a contractor grade kitchen and not just upgraded it by giving us more storage, but she made it bright, fresh, airy and inviting, along with casual and durable for our simple lifestyle, not to mention spectacular! We also had our bathrooms painted, painted and glazed the cabinetry and updated the fixtures. We love the outcome and all aspects of the renovation. The kitchen window is truly our, or at least my, favorite part. I remember telling her that I loved the window as that’s where I watch our nature display of birds and butterflies when I’m working in there. So Julie enhanced it for me! She took what was loved and made it better. The window and sink – she made them features! Julie knows too about budgets and she worked with us and stayed within ours. She also worked with the contractor and made sure that they did what they were supposed to do. We loved that she brought samples for her vision of our kitchen to us and allowed us to choose; there was no wondering “will this fit,” “will this look good,” because they all worked. She had narrowed everything down to simple choices, which made choosing so much easier. She did the hard part, but to her it was fun. And that’s what you want in a designer, someone capable of making that vision reality, making that vision better than you thought you wanted or needed! We absolutely love what Julie did for our kitchen and bathrooms and without a doubt highly recommend her.

My husband I recently made a major move from the Northeast to low country Georgia and to a completely new home style. I found that I needed assistance making decorating decisions in the new space. As a Houzz subscriber I searched my local area for a designer and found Julie Kay Design. I reached out to Julie and she responded quickly, scheduling an appointment to come to my home and was a tremendous help in both validating my thoughts and making wonderful design suggestions. I still reach out to Julie with design questions and she is just terrific, Julie is very professional, I give her a 5 star recommendation.

Working with Julie has been such a treat!! I just bought a new townhouse, and I hired her to decorate it! I showed her some ideas that I liked, we discussed a few color options, and I just let her run with it. I LOVED everything about her design! She has such an eye for making spaces big or small look amazing without being to much! I walk into my townhouse every night and just feel so excited to be home. I also love the candles that she has as well. They are the finishing touch that gives it that extra pop of delightful ambience.
