Katie Rosenfeld Design

I’ll start by saying I think Katie’s work is absolutely beautiful, which is why I wanted to work with her on designing the interior of my family’s beautiful new home. From the start she impressed me with her professionalism at every interaction from answering my questions, explaining her process/fees, etc. We then had an in-home consultation where I met Katie and her assistant Meghan. We spoke about the scope of the project, budget, and some design. Katie said she would be in touch in the next 24-48 hours via email with new client paperwork and a new contract she had recently been working on with her attorney. We met in my home on a Thursday, by Friday afternoon I had a contract to review. New client paperwork was not included. I took the weekend to thoroughly read and review the contract. By Tuesday I was sent another ‘revised’ contract with an apology stating the original contract was missing her retainer agreement. I was asked to let them know if I had questions regarding same. So again, I reviewed the contract and by Thursday morning sent along my specific questions as they pertained to the contract and the newly included retainer agreement. Thursday afternoon I received a reply from Katie thanking me for my email and feedback stating she accepted a 'large scale' project in downtown Boston two days earlier (presumably the same day she sent me the ‘revised’ contract to review) putting her well over capacity to take on my project, which left me and my measly $150k project feeling like a complete waste of her time. I feel completely blindsided as I was extremely excited to work with Katie once I felt informed about and comfortable with the terms of her contract. Very disappointing to say the least.

Having admired Katie’s work for several years, when we began our home renovation project, there was no one else I wanted to work with. Katie has a charming ability to bring homes to life by embracing color, pattern and an occasional dose of whimsy. She turned our house into a home that we enjoy everyday and will love for years to come. Friends who visit are incredulous at how our home reflects who we are as a family and our lifestyle. Katie and her team are a delight to work with. They are kind, responsive and dedicated. It was a pleasure to work with KRD and I look forward to an opportunity to do so again!

I will put it simple - Katie was born to be a designer! Her sense of style, attention to details, mix of colors and textures is phenomenal! Hire her if you can!

Katie has a gift for putting together functional, comfortable and colorful spaces. She goes to a great effort to find the right mix to suit the client, the setting and each room. She also, see her projects all the way through to the finishing touches which really makes the project shine. I always enjoyed working with her on her projects from townhouse to beach house.

Katie is a true professional! She introduced me to many fabrics, wallpapers, and techniques that I didn't know, and I own a home decor business! She is a lot of fun, has a wicked sense of humor, and a lot of patience! I know I took her out of her comfort zone with a few of my quirky ideas, but she always listened, and we always had a good laugh in the end. The project wound up fun, elegant, and beautiful.

I feel like I have been given a "home" after working with Katie Rosenfeld Design. The design and selection process were seamless. Her work is impeccable. I felt at ease turning concerns over to her and her team to decipher and rectify. Working with Katie is a process I would gladly repeat.

I couldn't have asked for a better outcome! We asked Katie to furnish a 3,800 sq ft beach house pretty much top to bottom under a very short time frame and it turned out fabulous! She was very honest and forthcoming about what she could accomplish within our given budget and stayed true to her word. She truly transformed our house into a very stylish beach house. There were many times where she would suggest a piece of furniture or a wall color or lamp etc, that we were unsure of, but I am so glad we listened to her in the end. She definitely has an amazing vision and everything came together in the end. I can't tell you how many people walked into our house this summer and were blown away with how it looked. Katie makes it look easy: matching vibrant color, patterns and functional requirements with a fluidity that appears effortless. We have collaborated with her on many projects, working together to find that perfect carpet that adds to her impeccably curated spaces. Katie is one of those designers who keeps us on our toes (in a good way!), pushing our thinking about color and pattern and how our products can best fit into her unique vision. Last summer we had a new beach house with beds and a couple of couches. Enter Katie, and, this summer; we have exactly what we wanted-- an elegant, yet relaxed and family friendly home. I fell in love with Katie's work through pictures-- her use of color, pattern, fabrics and layering. Katie listened to my ideas and then offered multiple suggestions to achieve the desired look. Katie and her team are professional, easy to work with, responsive and hard working. Her style is organized, efficient and charming. Her ability to work within a budget is exemplified by her process of identifying splurges (and savings) and items that will "make a difference" to the overall feel of the room. She helped me to identify areas of focus and areas to consider for Phase 2. Deadlines were met and our (almost) blank canvas bloomed into a warm home. She responds to emails quickly (generally within hours, or even minutes) and efficiently. She was on top of all aspects of our project. Katie has terrific sources for pillows, window treatments, rugs, furniture and art. The mix of Katie's creativity and professional delivery of results is a winning combination. And, an added bonus; she made the process fun!

I had never worked with a decorator before and was very hesitant, but once I made my decision, I started to review several decorators profiles. Once I saw Katie's website I fell in love with her style and wanted to work with her immediately. Since we have been working together, over the last 11 months, the process has been very straight forward, stress free and lots of fun! I would highly recommend Katie to anyone who asks and I plan on working with Katie in the future!

Katie is incredibly talented. She has a great eye for color and pattern, and she's versatile enough to transcend styles. She is also ultra-organized, detail-oriented and highly professional. I relied heavily on her expertise and ability to keep our project moving forward. I truly couldn't have been happier with the work and service she provided for our new home.

The scope of our project included our entryways, living room, dining room, "TV room," office, partial kitchen, and master bedroom. We would highly and whole-heartedly recommend Katie to anyone looking for a smart, witty, attentive, and creative designer for a project. Katie quickly becomes inspired by your space, and her enthusiasm is contagious. She has great awareness – bordering on prescience – and can tell even before you can if you do or don't love something. She is very flexible and draws inspiration from endless points of reference in design – this also allows for creativity and elegance within whatever your budget may be. You can see from her portfolio that she designs for a variety of spaces and tastes. We are thrilled that for our project she has woven some modern elements into a somewhat traditional space. We also have kind of a difficult layout that she has helped to unify with the design. Furthermore, the overall look she has achieved is layered, a far cry from the “page-out-of-a-catalog” look that we were desperately trying to avoid, and yet very "live-able." We never felt pressured to commit to something out of our budget and, by keeping an open mind, we now have a new appreciation for the value of certain pieces. Katie is a master with color and fabric choices, and helps you understand where to allocate your resources with these decisions. Katie also knows everything and everyone (seriously!) and served as a great resource for everything from finding a handyman to investing in fine art. My husband and I joke that we now ask ourselves "what would Katie think/do in this situation," irrespective of whether it has anything to do with design, because we value so highly her opinion and taste level. We quickly doubled the scope of our project once our rooms started to be transformed, and would hire her again in a second if the opportunity presents itself. We could not possibly recommend her more highly. She’s a star!
