I hired Karla early on in the construction process of our house. She immediately made an impact on the design and layout of the house, even though the architectural plans were already done. Karla has a keen and creative eye, always keeping in mind the aesthetic we were looking for as well as respecting our intentions for the house and design. Knowing what I know now, I would have brought her on board earlier! She made the whole process so much easier and ultimately saved us time and money with her pre-planning. Karla was instrumental in every design aspect, from the lighting layouts and choices, bathroom and kitchen design, tile and hard surface design and all the finishing touches including furnishing the entire house. She achieved my vision of "comfortable, lived in neutral home" by layering colours and textures throughout. Of course, this was all done on a strict budget and short timelines that I gave her! Our home was featured on the cover of "Style at Home" profiling Karla and her amazing work. I wouldn't hesitate to hire Karla again!

Karla helped us renovate our kitchen, pick out paint colours, backsplash and light fixtures, remodel our family room fireplace and add builtins. These changes made a remarkable difference to our kitchen and family room. We really appreciated Karla's expertise and knowledge of the trades which helped us complete our project in a timely manner. Karla, the principal, of Kerrisdale Design provided us with excellent service. The contractors she recommended were professional, did quality work and kept a clean job site. Karla got the most out of our modest budget and did so within our deadlines. Questions or concerns were quickly addressed. The few small glitches that did arise were solved by her in a timely and more than satisfactory manner. She brought a wonderful blend of creativity, experience and knowledge to create a design plan that fit our house and our lives. We had the very good fortune to work with Karla @ Kerrisdale Design on three projects last year: two renovation projects and one exquisite new build. Her refined taste, timeless designs and total engagment with all facets/elements of a project, efficiently orchestrating trades when necessary, is what made all three projects a total success. We have worked with Karla on a number of design projects in our home. The projects have included simple furniture, lighting and decor selection to full gut-and-redesigning of a bathroom, living room fireplace, and architectural overhaul of our entryway. In each project Karla was professional, flexible, and listened very well to our opinions and input. She was respectful of our budget as well as our time. Details were always presented clearly and we were given options to consider. She understood our family needs (ie. no glass tabletops, only easy-to-clean fabrics, etc.).
