Richard first helped us in 2000 with our entire house remodel project and, more recently, with our back yard landscaping design project and also the remodel of a mountain vacation house. The house remodel was our first ever and my husband and I did not know where to begin. We only knew we needed additional space for our large family. Looking back, we could not have done either project without Richard's guidance and beautiful and practical design concepts. Richard helped us come to a meeting of minds regarding our needs and how to make the best use of our existing and new space. He had the practical knowledge and artistic vision that my husband and I lacked. Richard translated our desire that "we just want it to look good" into an end result that exceeded our expections; both our house and backyard are stunning! . It is rare that someone does not enter our home and backyard without commenting on our beautiful home and incredible and useful outdoor space. Likewise, Richard's creativity helped transform an ordinary looking vacation home into a spectacular mountain retreat. The look (rustic and "woodsy") is completely different from the formal, Italian style look he had created for,our home. Richard's versatility resulted in an equally beautiful space in a completely different style. Lastly, and most recently in 2015, Richard helped us create a more drought tolerant environment in our backyard when we removed over 6,000 feet of grass. While I am generally not a fan of drought tolerant landscapes, I was delighted with Richard's choice of plant materials and layout which was incorporated nicely into the exiting landscape design.

I have used Richard's services for the past 12 years. Through a referral, I brought him in to help design our commercial insurance agency's offices in El Segundo, CA. He worked within our budget and designed our offices so beautifully that the owners of the office complex (who own many office buildings asked if they could take pictures for their website. There was not a visitor who did not complement the office interior! I then moved to a new home and needed assistance on the interior. Again, I let Richard know my budget and he sat with me and helped pick our furniture, lighting and interior colors - again beautiful and within my budget. I moved offices and homes recently and again - did not consider anyone but Richard! Richard consistently knows what works for me and my style and is fun and easy to work with.

I first consulted Richard midway through a backyard remodel that I felt was slipping away from me. At that point, I was overwhelmed and felt the project needed some direction in design to pull it all together. Richard came up with a spectacular, eye pleasing design that saved the entire project. He collaborated with our contractor and provided a detailed plan for him to follow. A custom structure with seating around a existing fire pit is the perfect focal point. The choice of color, outdoor furniture, and plants make this space a inviting, impressive, surprise upon entering. Since then, we have moved on to other projects in my house. My living room really needed to be updated. I always felt bewildered by the long rectangular shape and the offset fireplace. The oversized leather corner sectional took up most of the space and offered the only seating. Richard was able to give it a fresh, modern, casual feel by adding scaled down pieces in a lighter color. With two dogs that love to sit on the furniture, careful consideration was given to material selection for durability. The new layout offers more seating options for conversation and tv viewing with flexible options to make use of the fireplace. He also blended furniture and art pieces that I couldn't part with. Using repeated drapery panels in the dining area as in the living room has created a seamless transition from room to room. Most recently, I hired Richard to guide me through the process of remodeling my 80's outdated kitchen and dining area. I was not clear in my mind what I wanted but Richard helped me simplify so many decisions that would have otherwise been overwhelming. With his elevations, floor plan/layout we were able to get the project started immediately. He accompanied me in choosing the color and style of cabinetry and the flooring. He suggested stylish dining pieces and lighting that fit perfectly with my lifestyle pulling from resources acquired over his professional career. We had a determined budget and he was always very mindful of that. During the construction phase, Richard was always available and checked every detail to make sure everything was as planned. The entire space feels open and appears so much larger. It's an amazing transformation! I would not hesitate to recommend Richard for any project. He has proven his talent and expertise over and over with each project I have presented. The process during each one is always enjoyable! Currently, we are working on updating the decor of my master bedroom and upgrading the entire interior of a large family home in preparation to add it to the housing rental market.

A very talented designer from remodeling, landscaping and interior design, he has done a Calabasas custom estate, a large mountain retreat in lake arrowhead and an Italian villa on a golf course in Palm Desert and a beach house on the sand in long beach. Would highly recommend him without a second thought and can't wait for my next project with him hopefully soon

Richard helped us with our complete kitchen remodel from start to finish. He coordinated with our cabinet designer and our general contractor. His knowledge and advice was invaluable and we would use him again in a heartbeat.
