**BREAKING NEWS*** Kyle is now the PEI professional representative for Huppe Furniture which has specialized in the craftsmanship of Fine Canadian Furniture since 1967.
Interior designer and decorator Kyle Timothy Blood is known for his serene and inviting schemes that are rich in layers-combining classic pieces with contemporary lines that impart a timeless and understated elegance. Kyle's work has ranged from carefree cottages to spectacular penthouses. He has been published in "The Maritime Edit", "New York Social Diary", "House Beautiful," "Boston Home," "East Coast Home," and "Hamptons Cottages & Gardens," among others.
Kyle's design approach is tailored to each client, whether they want a sophisticated, urban aesthetic or a family-focused one. Kyle believes that a successful space relies upon a balance and harmony of proportion, pattern, texture, color and scale. Further, Kyle believes that a scheme will only succeed when every person and every object has a place to go, to rest, to live. Kyle is particularly known for his kitchen and bathroom designs. Notably, a Moroccan-themed bathroom was named House Beautiful's "Bathroom of the Month."
With a broad knowledge of architecture and the construction process, Kyle knows how to work alongside architects and builders, creating well-designed "shells" for homeowners before the interior decorating can take shape. For many renovations and new-builds, he has served as both Designer and Owner's Liaison for absentee homeowners.
In 2004, Kyle launched his design firm, Kyle Timothy Home, LLC, in New York City after a career in publishing at Forbes, Country Living, and Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, where he was involved in editing, branding and product-development management. He graduated cum laude from Dartmouth College in French and Art History and then taught in Paris on a Fulbright scholarship. When Kyle turned his attention to his passion for design, he studied at the New York School of Interior Design and was later accepted into the Master of Architecture Program at Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCIArc). He is an Allied Member of the American Society of Interior Designers and an Associate Member of the Interior Designers of Canada. He moved to Prince Edward Island in 2018 with his partner and their two dogs.
