Lauren is a consummate professional, and a real delight to work with. As an architect it is so refreshing to find a designer who is an excellent collaborator, and really creates a cohesive vision for the spaces she's working in. Lauren not only has wide ranging resources at her disposal, she also designs beautiful custom pieces as well in order to ensure that each element is the perfect fit. I had the pleasure of working with Lauren on a condo remodel in Laurel Heights, and she is excels at putting together all the moving parts, and also making decisions on the fly. She's talented, and nimble and always professional.

I love working with Lauren! Her taste level is impeccable and she can really transform an empty room into something beautiful and unique (custom furniture!). She was able to work with my budget restrictions and created a home concept that is fresh and gorgeous!

Lauren Nelson was an absolute delight to work with; incredibly professional, wonderful design sense, extremely efficient and worked with vendors of extremely high quality and professionalism. We renovated our home from overseas which required a great deal of communication and trust. Lauren immediately understood our vision and worked within a very tight time frame to complete the project to the highest standard and in keeping with our budget. She was incredibly resourceful; when a piece of furniture was not available or outside budget she was able to reproduce it to an exceptional standard. Not only does Lauren have impeccable taste, she is a joy to work with, bringing her immense talent, energy and diplomacy to each task. She worked well in the team of architects, builders and landscape architects providing appropriate input where functions overlapped and respecting the work of the other disciplines in the team. She worked within my budget, working to integrate old furnishings with new, recognizing the trade-offs that always must be made and ensuring that we got the "best bang for our buck." Her work was timely and she paid attention to the little details that can turn into big ones of not atteneded to. I look forward to working with her again on future projects.

We worked with Lauren for decorating our house in San Francisco. My wife had a very specific sense of what we liked and didn't like, so she and I went thru at least a hundred portfolios, and interviewed at least 10 different designers before we found Lauren. Not only was she a consummate professional who is amazing at her craft, but also a wonderful person to be around with. Unlike some designers who can be quite inflexible, she was also super respectful of our input and was a fantastic collaborator. She is also great about working within your budget to get to the best outcome possible, which isn't always the case with other designers. We have gotten a ton of compliments about the finished product and are super happy with it ourselves, and we gained a friend in the process. We have since recommended her to other friends who have shared very similar feedback to ours. Hire Lauren and you won't regret it!

I would wholeheartedly recommend Lauren to anyone undertaking a remodel or furnishing a home- we have absolutely loved working with her and LND! We initially hired Lauren for help furnishing an open living room/dining room. That quickly expanded to not only furnishing our entire 3bd/2a condo, but also assisting in the complete design of what became a very extensive remodel. From picking out flooring and light fixtures to paint colors, tile and marble slabs (not to mention all of the furniture and decor), Lauren has an impeccable eye for design and we seriously could not have survived this project without her. She grasped our vision very quickly and found items that we never would have found ourselves (her custom furniture connections are also incredibly helpful- most of our pieces are custom). She's incredibly responsive and a great communicator. Lauren is flexible to adjust communication styles based on our availability and what worked for the task at hand, alternating between texts, phone calls, emails, Pinterest collaboration, and in person meetings. Lauren navigated a sometimes complicated working relationship between architects, contractors, subcontractors and us (clients) extremely well. We both have demanding work schedules that prevented us from attending many of the remodel meetings (including marble layout, tile decisions, etc), and Lauren was great at texting us photos for quick approvals and making many of the decisions herself- we trust her judgement completely. Lauren went above and beyond for us- whether that meant moving her entire schedule around when a contractor or sub needed a decision immediately, or patiently working with vendors to navigate backordered items, avoid delays and take care of shipping damage. In addition, she was sensitive to our budget, and provided easy tracking for us via Google Sheets (which we techies really appreciated!), letting us space out expenses/orders as much as possible, and presenting us with a range of options in various budgets. After a long remodel, we are so excited to move into our new home this week, and Lauren is making the whole move-in much more painless by coordinating all the different furniture vendors to install everything on one day. We can't wait to see the finished product, and we know that we'll be working with LND many more times on future projects!

I have hired Lauren on numerous occasions and she never ceases to impress me with her thoughtful insights, her creative ideas and her willingness to move quickly! What I like the most about her is she doesn't just have ONE style, she is willing to work with you to incorporate existing things, as well as have custom pieces made, suggest paint colors, wallpaper etc... to pull the whole look together. Her work is crafted around your style--she helps pull it all together. Probably one of my favorite excursions was taking a day off from work and spending it with Lauren on a whirlwind decorative accessory shopping day to finish the entire project. Everything from accessorizing coffee tables to creating beautiful bookshelf vignettes, creating the perfect bar cart, to succulent terrariums, to color blocking the books, when she left that evening (and it was a full day) I sat down in my living room, sipped a glass of wine and couldn't believe i was in MY house. I have recommended Lauren more times than I can recall and I always have happy friends once the work is done. Lauren has my support, she's a creative force who also communicates well-- now that's a rare combination.

I had the daunting task of moving cross country from a 3 bedroom San Francisco apartment to a 6 bedroom home in Chicago. Lauren was instrumental in every way in helping me place the pieces I wanted to retain as well as develop an overall fresh California lifestyle design scheme that flowed throughout the new house. Lauren's taste , professionalism, connections , knowledge and easy going friendly demeanor made my experience an overwhelmingly positive one. I without a doubt would use Lauren again for any and every future project both small and large scale and would recommend her to anyone looking to hire an amazingly talented chic designer who will inevitably become one of your friends. Lauren Nelson Design worked with us every step of the way on the complete renovation of our 1908 home. Lauren guided us through new room layouts, came up with ideas for all of the fixtures, designed custom furniture when we needed something specialized and provided interior design ideas that reflected our own style.. Lauren Is a true professional who efficiently worked alongside our architect and contractor to find good design solutions throughout the process. She is easy (and fun) to work with and great at communication. We splurged on some stuff and went budget on others, and it worked out beautifully. We gave her plenty of opinions and ideas, and the end result was a house that feels like our home :)
