It is with humble anticipation of the human ability to exercise common sense and reason that I write an (overdue) response to the post above. As long as I’ve been in business, this is the first time I’ve been required to respond to the aftershock of a situation that could not be remedied by active listening, genuine efforts to understand a Client’s vision or basic respect for fellow human beings.
Any emotion aside about the cruel, baseless comments that were made – now, I simply want to set the record straight of a very difficult interaction.
•We have a long history with this Client’s significant other. Our team provided exceptional service to him for close to a decade. Several apartments and an office later, there wasn’t one complaint, only mutual respect and appreciation for our design and the results.
•All work was approved by the Client. If, as stated here, the Client wasn’t happy with the plans or colors that she was presented with, why approve them? Certainly in the many subsequent conversations, there were opportunities to voice feedback or concerns. We would have happily revisited whatever it was to address the issues and discuss new ideas, making a determined effort to get the project back on track.
•Businesses that treat their Clients as portrayed in this review simply don’t stay in business. For 15 years we have had the pleasure of working with extraordinary people to create beautiful spaces. And we’re proud to say a huge chunk of our business continues to be repeat Clients. Certainly we’ve encountered hiccups along the way, but together – with our Clients -- we approached these bumps with honesty, transparency, and raw intention to find a solution that the Client feels good about.
Our work and our Client relationships combined have raised our brand to its high status.
Certainly, my work inspires me on a daily basis to create and transform, but as a businesswoman I find that I must also make decisions that have nothing to do with creativity. When all decorum, observance of common decency and respectful communication are absent from a relationship the decision to cut ties must be made. In the end, we felt we had no choice but to do just that.
We wish you happiness and peace in your new home.
