My family recently purchased a home in Raleigh and undertook a major remodel of the downstairs. We were already working with a general contractor; however, we were in desperate need of an interior designer to help solidify our design decisions, pick light fixtures, and assist with a bathroom design. We reached out to Laura at the recommendation of a friend, and she did not disappoint! Laura helped us select all our downstairs lighting and paint colors and she helped us design the coolest half bath ever! She found the dramatic wallpaper we were looking for and even had a wallpaper installer. We worked with several people throughout our remodel and Laura was by far our favorite. She is responsive, efficient, organized, and fun! We plan to use Laura again for future renovations and would highly recommend her to anyone who may be undertaking a home project—big or small. What a wonderful experience we had with Laura, Alya and the entire LK Design Team! For almost a year we had the pleasure of working with Laura. Her tremendous sense of style, guidance and dedication gave us the home of our dreams. In 2023 we bought a brand new home in Cary. I brought very little from our previous home so I knew I needed a Designer with great vision and style. Laura exceeded that goal. From the initial consult to the delivery of the furniture, every encounter was professional and so much fun :) Since I liked so many design styles, I was very indecisive on how to proceed. Laura was very patient in helping me narrow down what would work best and look best in our space. From the custom wall unit, window treatments, light fixtures and Art work, Laura and her team of contractors made our house look like something out of a magazine but comfortable and welcoming enough to call “home”. Working with Laura and her team was a wonderful experience! She turned what felt like an akward living room into a functional and beautiful space. From the custom window treatments to the artwork, she really took the time to listen carefully to our needs (including our budget!), creating a truly customized and cohesive design. We would highly recommend and use LK Design again in the future.

We wanted to bring color and symmetry to a boring living room and we asked Laura to help. I was thinking about built in bookshelves to create symmetry, but our room is not that big. Laura came up with a fabulous idea to make our fireplace wall look like it had built ins using moldings, paint, wallpaper and some beautiful reclaimed wood floating shelves and cabinets. Her contractors did a great job of mimicking our fireplace molding which tied the whole piece together. And they were even able to give us what we wanted most - a custom window seat! We absolutely love the space, the bright pops of color (she coined our style "happy eclectic", lol) and all the added storage that we never even knew we needed. Laura and Alya were prompt, professional and a joy to work with. We highly recommend LK Design!

LK Design - Laura is a phenomenal Interior designer. Her interior design services took our preferences and converted our vision to a beautiful reality! She transformed our vacant living room to a vibrant cozy place and designed the perfect Pooja (prayer) nook. She worked her magic in refreshing our Family Room and our Dining Room. Laura managed the schedule with all the contractors very well and kept us informed about the timelines for each of the rooms/items. She incorporated unique design elements which truly reflect our personal style . She chose the perfect wallpapers, furniture, accessories and brought in the best contractors(wallpaper installer, window treatment installer, electrician, handymen & delivery crew) for all of the work needed. Work that was needed: a small remodel to close off a passage from Living to Family Room; Custom cabinetry for Pooja (prayer) nook; Wallpaper installation; Custom Window treatments; electrical wiring - installing focus lights, chandeliers etc. We would strongly recommend Laura and plan to sign her up for the next remodel project in our house! We are a delighted customer.

I cannot say enough about LK Design and the amazing Laura. I began working with LK Design in 2019 to design and furnish three rooms in my apartment. I met with several designers before deciding LK Design suited my needs, personality, and budget. My project wasn’t for a real/whole house, but Laura always made me feel like I was her most important client. I was so pleased with my apartment design that I engaged LK Design to help me with my newly built townhouse in 2022. I was able to use 100% of the furniture, custom window treatments, and rugs from my apartment inside my new townhouse. The sofa sectional LK found for my apartment fits so well in my townhouse family room. I purchased the customizable sofa without ever sitting on it, and I love it. It’s modern, comfortable, durable, and easy to clean. It still looks brand new after 3+ years. For my townhome, I wanted wall molding installed. I hired a molding installer, and the project wasn’t going well. Laura saved the day. She put me in contact with a contractor that installed the wall molding. The contractor got me on his schedule within two weeks of our first meeting. The contractor and his team were professional and respected my home during the install. Laura designed the trim around artwork I already owned. The wall molding is AMAZING and makes the artwork look museum quality. My home looks more finished and upscale now. For my powder room, I wanted wallpaper installed. LK found a glamorous wallpaper design and arranged for a wallpaper installer to install it. I cannot get over how the wallpaper has transformed the room. Jaws drop when guest enter my powder room. The wallpaper is fabulous!!! Laura is all about YOU making the final decisions. She chooses options that fit with your style, vision and budget. Then she presents those options for you to choose from or have her look for more options. Laura has gotten to know my taste, so she often knows which option I’m going to choose before I make my decision. Laura listened and paid close attention to my words (or lack of words), facial expressions, and body language during the entire process. She knew when I was unsure about my decisions and was very patient with me when I changed my mind about my choices. I changed my mind on custom window treatments during both of my project. Laura didn’t chastise me for being indecisive. She found more options and presented them to me. My custom window treatments transformed my apartment and townhouse from basic to lavish. Other great qualities about Laura: - Focused on function and not just looks. She wants to make your home functional and designed to your personal taste. - All about re-use. She is more than willing to re-use items you already have. - Great communicator. She kept me updated on every phase of the project. I highly recommend LK Design for your next home design project. We found LK Design through a newspaper article on design. We engaged Laura Koshel on a small project and were so pleased that we engaged her again on a much larger project. She helped us with selecting an overall color scheme, selecting fabrics, selecting specific pieces of furniture, and choosing a rug to tie all the pieces together. Laura is an amazing interior designer! She gave us our dream concept of what we wanted in our home. Having moved here from out of state, one of the things we first discovered about our new condo was that street noise would not be our friend. Not knowing where to start, we reached out to our realtor and she referred us to LK Design to consider sound dampening drapes.
