Since purchasing matching paint from Fabuwood, the manufacturer of my cabinets is so very costly, I did a color consult for my kitchen trim to match my Fabuwood Frost cabinets, with Lori Sawaya at The Land of Color,. She often answers readers’ paint dilemma questions on Houzz with detailed and cogent responses, so I felt comfortable in contacting her. The process was very easy, reasonably priced and the results outstanding. I scanned my cabinet door using the color muse reader she provided to me and sent her the screen shots. From her paint color DNA tables, she determined that the hue and chroma of BM CC-10 Ultra White was an exact match to the Frost cabinets, and that BM OC-151 White was a very close second. I ordered both samples from Samplize and she is 100% correct. She also recommended a satin finish on the paint for the trim. For this consult, Lori also gave me paint color options for my kitchen, hallway and powder room walls from an inspiration fabric that I also scanned. All my proposed choices were scientifically confirmed. After countless trips to the paint stores and months of deliberation, I am finally at peace with these decisions and can go buy my paint with confidence. And besides her clear color expertise, I found Lori to be a very lovely person. I have been reading Lori's color blog for some time now and I love her scientific approach to color. I learned a lot from her blog but still needed help to choose a wall color to go with two Corian showers in Antarctica that looked a bit purple in natural light. So, I purchased a color analysis from Lori's website. Her approach helped me to zero in on the right light grey paint that worked with the Corian and made the light grey Corian background look grey and not purple while making sure the walls didn't look purple, blue, pink or green - quite a challenge. I learned a lot in the process too. I love that Lori is generous with her knowledge, sharing what she knows on her Land Of Color blog and here on Houzz as well. The color analysis was definitely worth it and so inexpensive.

Lori is a color wizard! I was fortunate to have her help me select the colors for every room of my interior, the exterior color scheme and the (elusive) perfect off-white color In which to refinish my kitchen cabinets. She is passionate about the science of color and I learned a ton throughout this project. Lori is a gem! I recently worked with Lori to choose paint colours for a renovation project. She was extremely knowledgable and also approachable which is so important. There are so many facets to consider, not to mention the science behind it, that it'd be overwhelming to try and learn on my own. Lori has really opened my eyes and mind to a whole new way of thinking about color, but how to use it in my business as an interior decorator. Camp Chroma is her brainchild - she created and developed it. If you work with color in any way, or just have an interest in it, I highly recommend this course for furthering your color knowledge and expertise.
