Lucy Harris is a full-service interior design studio based in New York City, featured in publications such as Architectural Digest, New York Magazine and Interior Design Magazine. Building on personal histories rooted in design, Lucy and her team create spaces that are reflective of the people who inhabit them, mingled with their own love of modernism.
Lucy Harris’ process is a collaborative one. The studio takes all aspects of its clients’ lives into account to yield a unique narrative for each room. From the initial vision through to completion, Lucy Harris ensures that every detail, every accent, every moment is meaningful, intentional and beautiful.
Lucy Harris’ clients come from varied backgrounds, but have one thing in common: A desire to live in homes that tell distinctive stories. The studio has worked on residential and hospitality projects in New York City, Westchester and the Hamptons and embraces the opportunity to work on design projects the world over.
About Lucy Harris
Growing up in a modernist house in Concord, Massachusetts, Lucy Harris was surrounded by, and given an appreciation for, thoughtful design. From her great-great grandparent’s eclectic art- and antiques-filled Federal townhouse in Beacon Hill (now the Nichols House Museum) to her great-grandparents’ Arts and Crafts summer home in Ipswich, Massachusetts to the Mid-Century house where she currently lives in Westchester’s Usonia, Lucy has always surrounded herself with thoughtful, beautiful, timeless design.
Building on that heritage, Lucy continues to be influenced by many different movements in art and design, from the Bauhaus to Minimalism. Eclecticism is at the root of her designs, and her work is reminiscent of the “impossible bouquets” of Dutch Master painters, in which flowers that would not normally grow together exist side-by-side in the name of art. An avid traveler who has lived in Rome and Milan, Lucy visits Europe often for inspiration, and sources furniture, rugs, lighting and materials from all over the world. She also works with skilled craftspeople from Los Angeles to Brooklyn to realize her custom designs.
