Growing up in a home filled with beauty, from her father’s photography to her mother’s experience with luxury textile designs, Amy has been exposed to the design world from as early back as she can remember. Amy brings her passion for beauty to design spaces with form, function and comfort. She’s able to solve the problems in any space while capturing the dreams of her clients. As a graduate of Boston University and the New York School of Interior Design, Amy launched her career in interior design working for some of the most well-known names in the profession, including Mariette Himes Gomez. Amy founded her firm, Luria Design & Style, over 20 years ago. We had a great experience working with Amy Luria for our basement remodel. Amy was very patient with us, as we are first-time homeowners and going through a remodel for the first time on an earlier-than-ideal time schedule. Amy spent a lot of time with us to understand our requirements, suggest the design, and then iterate based on our feedback. She also put us in contact with the contractor who performed the work who did a great job overall. While there are obviously a few elements that we would have tweaked in retrospect now that everything is complete and we have been enjoying the space for approximately a year, we are overall very happy with the results. I would recommend anyone who is looking for a designer to use Amy. I didn’t think it was necessary to have someone like her but she has goes above and beyond just designing a space or in our case a house renovation. Amy puts the client’s interests first and does whatever is necessary to get the best for them. She has no problem telling you what you don’t necessarily want to hear if it’s in the best interest of her clients. She listened to what we wanted style wise and found many options until we were able to get our house to be what we only could imagine in our dreams. We had a budget for our project and she did not make us feel less than because it might not have been as high as some of her other clients. I can’t say enough and would recommend her for any job without thinking twice.

Amy's knowledge and experience was extremely helpful with our project. We had her help us primarily with designing a new kitchen. This is where having a lot of experience makes a huge difference with avoiding expensive mistakes. She drew up the plans, foreseeing all possible issues, while triple checking each detail. Amy found us a wonderful cabinet maker and thoroughly oversaw his work. She "translated" our communications with the cabinet maker so we were sure of the best understanding. She brought in the kitchen at half the price that another company estimated! She was well worth the cost. She also made very good suggestions for furniture placement and paint colors for the whole house. We went with those and are happy.

When we wanted to downsize from our lovely seven-room cottage-style home to a first floor apartment in a 50+ senior community, Amy was there to help us plan each step of the way. From replacing outdated carpet with luxury vinyl flooring throughout, to gutting and replacing the builders’ grade kitchen with beautiful appliances, cabinets, tile backsplash and gorgeous countertops, to replacing vanities and hardware in the bathrooms, Amy was with us. Did I mention outfitting the pantry closet from top to bottom? Every time I walk in, I thank Amy for thinking of everything I needed yo make the pantry work for me! All elements of our home are perfect, and just our style. Final project: refitting the large hall closet, a linen closet and closets in the guest room and master bedroom. Besides totally understanding our needs and our preferences, Amy is a wonderful, caring person, who understands the stress involved in downsizing and leaving our home of 30+ years. She is knowledgeable, helpful and supportive. I can’t imagine having gone through this with anyone else!

Amy Luria is truly a god send and its not possible to recommend her highly enough!! From the start of my dream kitchen renovation, Amy really (REALLY) listened to my frustration with the space configuration and to what we wanted to achieve with this renovation. She introduced us to some incredible vendors and took the time to guide us through the decision making process with our goals and budget in mind. There were times when it seemed like we would not get everything we wanted within our space and budget (new pantry, new eating island, hidden garbage, more counter-top space, more cabinet space, no change to the floor-plan, all without the kitchen feeling crowded or smaller). The new island was the toughest bit, but Amy brilliantly came up with a solution that didn't feel like a compromise. She has an incredible eye and suggested items (like the gorgeous light fixture over the island) and functional combinations (like a chamfered edge on the cabinet behind the island, larger cabinet for double garage bins, etc) that I hadn't even thought of for truly incredible results. I can't wait to be able to entertain friends and family again in my functional and gorgeous kitchen!

Amy was beyond amazing . She came into my home during what was one of the most stressful and exhausting times of my life - staging the house I love for sale . Amy came in and sensitively helped me to make so many positive changes . And ...She did it without me having to spend any more money on "stuff "which was so awesome ! Her approach ,in my case ,was a lot about taking stuff away ( like the screen to my front door !) to brighten the entrance ! My husband and I loved Amy's suggestions so much that we trusted her and did what ever she she said to do !! I had already majorly de -cluttered my home but then Amy went into the things I had put away - and added those things to appropriate places in tasteful creative ways and all with a theme that Made the style of my house feel cohesive from room to room . Amy moved the art I already had so that the buyers eye would be drawn from front door into the home and she removed art entirely from some walls to a create a more peaceful feeling as well as taking furniture from one room and adding it to another ! All Amy's design and staging ideas were things my husband and I NEVER would have thought to try and all of them were really were impactful on how our home came across . I would highly recommend Amy for anyone needing a inspired designer or in my case ...someone who is in staging hell and in desperate need of a warm talented creative person to come in and save them !!!!
