Leonora is an absolute blessing to work with! I hired her after interviewing multiple other designers because of her great style/designs and her warm personality. Her style is simple, but so elegant and everything that she chooses just seem to flow together. We liked Leonora so much that not only did we hire her twice (a few years apart), we recommended her to my in-laws who also were happy with their results! Leonora helped us reconfigure our living room and find the perfect pieces and rug to tie it all together. I am happy to recommend Leonora Mahle's design service. After three moves in five years my husband and I needed help settling in to a pre-war UWS apartment with our hodgepodge of furniture, unclear design goals and tight budget. We interviewed a number of designers and then, thank goodness, found Leonora through Houzz. A consummate professional, she listened carefully to us and came up with a three-part plan as a way to both solve immediate design issues while respecting the budget. Her ideas were creative and resourceful as she oversaw a gorgeous and clever kitchen re-design; throughout the apartment she sourced new lighting and window treatments and lovely furnishings to complement our decorative items. She was very responsive, managed the contractors and kept the project moving along. I tend to dither on design decisions but quickly came to trust Leonora's advice. In addition to her skills and knowledge as a designer Leonora is a lovely person and a delight to work with.

Hiring Leonora was the single best decision that we made for our home renovation. We hired her to manage our renovation at a time when we were juggling many life changes such as buying a new home and having a baby. Leonora literally saved us from what could have been a nightmare scenario by coordinating all the details such as working with our contractor to ensure he stayed within our tight timeline and deal with the unexpected, picking out finishings, and managing our budget. She is a consummate professional, extremely reliable and communicative, and always made us feel like her top priority as clients. Leonora really understood our style and helped guide us through the process of sourcing lighting, tile, furniture, etc; advising us where its worth it to spend money and where we could get away with spending less. She introduced me to stores/brands that I wasn't familiar with to find unique and stylish pieces. And she always had a creative solution to help achieve the look I wanted in my home. I discovered Leonora through Houzz and worked with her for many months on decorating a new apartment from 0. I literally had no furniture :) Leonora was extremely easy to work with, thoughtful, fair, informed and connected. She was there to help me figure out what style to go for, selected multiple examples for each item to help us narrow down on candidates, and overall made the process far less stressful and time-consuming than it would have otherwise been. She was also helpful in ways I hadn't anticipated, like ensuring that furniture wasn't flawed when it arrived. I would have never thought to look : ) She also helped with the whole returning and replacing process which, believe me, is a time sink. Leonora introduced me to furniture and decoration stores I was unfamiliar with and overall had great taste (according to me!). The only thing I would say is that if you're trying to nickel and dime your project and intent on sticking to west elm, she may not be the one for you.

Leonora was the designer and project manager of our kitchen and bathroom renovation. It was a project that had a lot of challenges due to the age of our apartment building, but she was able to combine an up-to-date design situated in a century old apartment full of century old built-in woodwork. She stayed within budget and both rooms have aged beautifully. We brought her back recently to select and source the primary pieces of our living room and dining room. She is very easy to work with, and she really understood our need to balance functionality versus aesthetics in our study.

We hired Leonora after searching for an interior designer matching our aesthetic. She had to work with our recently purchased exiting furniture. We needed help with choosing window coverings, mirrors, carpets, lighting, side tables, accessories for a wall unit, decorative pillows and a cocktail table. It was a pleasure working with Leonora. Leonora managed the renovation of our apartment including overseeing the contractor on a major bathroom renovation and other updates. She also prepared layouts for the apartment and did furniture sourcing. She is very organized and professional and kept the project on track. She provided great guidance with furniture and fixture selection and helped us narrow our options quickly. She also gave us many great space saving ideas and worked well with scale. Leonora recommended various 8x10 rugs, wide blinds, floor lighting, wall artwork for a 1500 square foot NYC apartment. She also figured out furniture placement with mostly existing furniture. She is incredibly easy to work with electronically. Her follow through is GREAT. She has all the sub contractors to help as well. We were very pleased.

I highly recommend Leonora Mahle. She was masterful in helping me with my project: a loft renovation. She provided excellent guidance as I made decisions on the details once I settled on the theme and design. Additionally her relationships with the various vendors used were invaluable. They communicated well with her, got the ordered items to me on time and at a much more reasonable price than had I tried to do this myself. What I envisioned as a daunting project turned into a practically seamless endeavor because of her expertise. I would use her again and again. My husband and I have been working with Leonora over the past several months to decorate our Brooklyn apartment. Leonora has been an absolute pleasure to work with and has exceeded all of our expectations. Not only does Leonora have impeccable taste and design sense, but she is a true professional - responsive, flexible, patient, reliable and organized. In addition to helping arrange and select furniture and accessories, Leonora connected us with a great contractor and project managed a number of additional changes to the apartment, including painting, the installation of new shades, a new kitchen backsplash and a beautiful custom built-in (which she designed). Leonora has transformed our apartment and we are so happy with the result. We will definitely use Leonora for future projects and will continue to recommend her to our family and friends.

I particularly appreciated how she gently nudged me to think about possibilities I would never have considered but now I love. We are nearing the end of a complete transformation of my apartment. Leonora helped me with pulling together and updating our living room and master bedroom. We weren't looking for a complete transformation which probably made the job even tougher, but she attacked the project beautifully. Not only is she an absolute pleasure to work with, her suggestions were thoughtful and balanced, especially in terms of giving us a variety of price points which I very much appreciated. She was not only upfront about costs and turnaround times, but she kept me posted all along the way. She was top notch when it came to communication and availability. I was on a very limited budget, but wanted help with thinking through room layouts, colors, decor and the like when I moved to my new place. Leonora was happy to work within my budget and importantly, was respectful of my budget. She also helped me find someone to do built-in bookshelves and again, she was mindful of my financial restrictions. I hired one of her recommendations for the shelves and they turned out beautiful. Leonora was also very helpful with giving us ideas for paint colors, lighting, and offering general design advice with a practiced eye. She is very kind and approachable, as well as a diligent worker. I'm very happy with how my home looks.

My wife and I used Leonora’s services for the renovation of our new condo. This is the first time for either of us to work with a designer, and although I was somewhat hesitant to pay someone to help us furnish our apartment, I have to say, it has been a very satisfying experience. Leonora has been great. We shopped around quite a bit for different designers, and what struck us with Leonora was her straight forward, uncomplicated approach. We had already set our mind on certain furniture pieces early on - a turn off for at least one designer we considered. Not so with Leonora. She was willing to listen, work with our taste. She turned out to be very patient when things got overwhelming with all the choices and decisions we had to make. Throughout the job she could not have been more diligent and responsive. She was always on top of things, thought of details we never would have. My wife and I are both working full time, and it was great having Leonora take care of things - she saved us a lot of headaches. Overall, it was definitely worth having Leonora work with us. She is great. If you are looking for an easy going, no frills professional that gets the job done, look no further.

I wanted help to choose paint colors for my apartment, and help replacing some furnishings, and in general sprucing up the place. Leonora came over and we went over various color options. She helped me develop a color plan and followed up with sending large color samples. At my request, she also suggested sources for rugs and furniture, etc. She was extremely responsible and always followed through on what she said she would do. Although my job was relatively small, she gave it full attention and care. And she acted with kindness. I'm very grateful for the help I got from her and recommend her wholeheartedly.

I loved working with Leonora. I hired Leonora at first for color consultation but,I enjoyed working with her so much, that I asked her to help me in other aspects of my project. I wish I had met her earlier in the process. She works very hard and when she she is working with me on an hourly basis, she is very diligent and we got a lot done. Leonora Mahle was the designer and project manager for our apartment renovation in New York City. She helped us remodel the kitchen which included taking down a wall and maximizing our storage space and installing appliances.. In addition, she organized the the crew replacing our moldings, painting the walls, and refinishing our floors. Her hard work was very noticeable. As in all renovations, there were problems and she handled them professionally and organized all the workers terrifically. Her work made us feel respected and taken care of always. She is very detail-oriented and timely which we found extremely important in our renovations. She is also very friendly and easy to work with in all areas. I would highly recommend her to anyone I know doing any sort of renovation or who needs design help with a house or an apartment.

Leonora did an excellent job helping me redecorate my 1 bedroom apartment in NYC. She was both diligent and thoughtful. She listened to my goals, spent time visiting showrooms, created drawings, made all of the purchases, and accepted all of the deliveries. All of this work spanned at least 6 months -- redecorating is not a quick process. I would recommend Leonora to anybody, and I'd work with her again.

Leonora managed the renovation of our apartment, which included a "gut" renovation of the kitchen and two bathrooms, new wiring and lighting, and paintaining and repairs throughout the apartment. Leonora managed the entire project directly, including everything from design to selection of tiles/paint, etc., to direct supervision of the work. She was highly competent in this work. She is knowledgable, careful, hard-working, thorough and very effective in supervising staff. She has a wonderful design sense and guided me in making great choices -- to this day, I think of her when I look at my beautiful apartment. Leonora is highly professional and great to work with and I give her my highest recommendaiton. This was our third renovation and I can say that she is the best I've dealt with.
