Donna and Anita and their team were great. We did not know what we were doing - wind-blown rain led to water damage and thus the "opportunity" to make some changes. Donna and Anita were realistic with the expectations they set for pricing (and stayed within budget). They set up options for us to either go higher end or to order ourselves from West Elm. We are in Los Angeles, and they are in the Bay Area. We worked together by email and a program they had for space planning, and they also had a great network of sources in LA (rugs, refinishing and upholstering). They came to us twice to place items and conceptualize paint, art. Great experience.

Maquette just "got me" and understood what I wanted. I needed to get the ball rolling on improving the look and function of my living space, a rental apartment in SF. I had significant storage issues and wanted to separate out my work and dining areas. Creative solutions were needed as my apartment is small and options very limited. I appreciated the personalized service Christopher and Donna provided, including an initial on site visit. I enjoyed the interplay of the two designers, getting two different perspectives, basic design tips and brainstorming ideas with me. I felt like they took the time to understand me, how I live, my priorities, the project scope and my budget. Through a follow up virtual meeting, I was shown a range of ideas for storage, lighting, furniture placement and furniture purchasing. The team of Marquette Interior Design was extremely helpful as I did a massive renovation to my home. Donna and Anita helped me with every step of the project - going over the architectural designs which with their advice we made several changes, helping me pick out lighting, plumbing, tiles, flooring, knobs etc. I couldn't have done it without them. Even though, I live in New Jersey and they are located in California, they recommended all national brands so that I was able to use the showrooms on the East Coast to make my choices. Because of Maquette’s professional expertise and design talent, we enjoy a beautiful and comfortable home life. With the help of the Maquette Design team, Gary and I co-created our dream home with our personal ideas. Maquette provided all the resources of quality building material and custom furnishings. Maquette provided knowledge of our condominium codes, rules of building access, as well as City of San Francisco building codes and worked closely with the architect and contractor. They monitored all building material delivery details and monitored work quality control. The remodeling project time spent working with Maquette also created a valued friendship and appreciation of professional designers’ service.

I cannot find enough words to describe how enjoyable my experience has been with Donna and Anita. I have done a few projects with them now, a major closet renovation, my guest bedroom, my main bedroom, and now my living room. They are active listeners, stay within your price guidelines, bring inspiring ideas, yet are willing to let you lead if that's your desire. Most important, they are beautiful souls. We found Maquette through Houzz. My husband and I had a fantastic experience working with Anita and Donna. From the very first meeting we instantly liked them and knew we would work well together. We had our living room fully designed and furnished by them including lighting choices and they also helped us pick key furniture pieces, and window treatments for other rooms. They work with any budget, are easy to communicate with, responsive, resourceful and are very passionate about what they do. They have a great eye for color & design and work with a complete understanding of the client's needs. I was so excited to see the awesome options they would bring us for everything, and then guide our choices. It took us about 6-8 months to complete the project. Susan is a great project manager and does a very good job of placing orders, following up and keeping the clients informed of the progress of the project. Together they make a very amicable, and fun to work with team. We will work with them again on the second phase of our project in some time. I love how everything turned out. I'm sad that I don't get to see them as often. They are lovely humans & a great design team! I highly recommend their service!!

My wife and I have worked with Anita and Donna for several years. They are true professionals who helped us furnish two homes which turned out incredibly well. Both times we had a highly enjoyable experience -- they helped us narrow down the dizzying number of choices the homeowner has to make when furnishing a home. And the end result reflected our taste while also being far better than what we would have achieved on our own. They also have an army of highly talented subs that can do everything from art installation to window coverings to custom cabinetry. We would absolutely work with them again (and will I'm sure)!

Donna and Anita are amazing decorators. As we decorated our new SF house while we still lived in Los Angeles, they met our numerous challenges with patience, humor, creativity, and incredible resourcefulness. They helped us create a wide variety of rooms -- comfy family room, elegant living room, fun playroom that could also be a guest room, and cozy and fun room for a 5 year old -- that are beautiful, comfortable, and most importantly fit us and what we wanted. As other reviewers have said, they listen and provide choices that reflect what you tell them. And they would anticipate our needs and wants. When we came to stay in our house before it was fully furnished, they compiled a list of household things that they thought we would need, purchased these things, and put them in our house before we arrived. I have never worked with such thoughtful, creative people. Thanks to them, we have a beautifully decorated home that all three of us (who have different tastes) love.

I hired Maquette Design several times, for both interior and exterior projects in my home. I love working with Donna! She's been thoughtful about understanding my preferences and sharing a design that captures my vision and enhances it. Donna started the process by creating a color palette for each room of the house. We then looked at fabrics, tiles and furniture styles. Getting alignment early meant there were no surprises. I've been thrilled with the results. Donna's also great at managing costs - being clear on the budget and helping prioritize expenses. We moved into our 1925 Spanish Mediterranean style home 2 years ago. While we loved the character and old-world charm of the house, we needed to undertake a complete remodel of the kitchen and three bathrooms, as well as add an addition for a family room and side porch, and lastly add an office. While we wanted all the modern amenities and conveniences, we also wished to maintain consistency or at least complimentary look and feel between the new parts of the house and the old parts of the house. We thought this might be a big challenge. We had a great architect to get us started but when it came time for all the finishing’s, as well as the overall look, functionality, and décor, consistent with our goals, Maquette stepped in to really make our house become a home, and a beautiful one at that. They gave extremely practical and creative advice and ideas every step of the way – from flooring to bathroom and tile design and selection, to paint colors in every room of the house (old and new parts), to window treatments and lighting, and of course furnishings. We enjoy staying pretty “hands on” in our home projects, and Donna and Anita are more than willing to adapt their process to “meet you where you are,” whether that be intimately involved or pretty hands off. They have the skill, creativity, and confidence to run with things and efficiently get the job done, with their access to great resources and suppliers both at the top of the line and in the budget-mid range when appropriate. They have an amazing sense of style and complete integrity in everything they do. And to top it off, they deliver on-time, on-budget, and make the process fun! We could not recommend them highly enough!

My wish was for a tranquil space that fit a particular need, to provide me a space in which to live and die. What Donna and Anita gave me was a lovely space in which to spend my remaining life.
