We met Mary while browsing for a couch and are so delighted we did! She came out to our house, took measurements, talked about furniture, colors, and themes. We met her a few weeks later at the Ethan Allen showroom where she had drawn up diagrams of our living room, dining room, and bedrooms complete with the recommended new furniture and placement of the old. We have a king sized bed and a small master bedroom and her new floor plan has done amazing things for the space - opening it up and making it feel much more warm and inviting. Her furniture choices matched well with the antique pieces we wanted to keep. When all the furniture was delivered and set up, my husband and I were blown away with how amazing it looked. We would highly recommend Mary. She is delightful, creative, and experienced at home design. We had her focus on our living room and master bedroom and will definitely use her again in the future.

Unfortunately, on July 24, 2016, we lost our home of 37 years to a fire. There was no question that we would rebuild on the same property. Mary Alves contacted me shortly after the fire and has been a "God Send". She listened to my likes and dislikes before offering many decorating suggestions and always stayed within budget. She also incorporated the few surviving items with the new ones while lending a shoulder when the memories became overwhelming. From beginning to the end of the project no question was too small to ask. I don't know how I could have survived this project without the expertise and caring concern of Mary Alves. Mary was AMAZING to work with. She was very professional and responsive. She came to our home to view the space and bring samples to make the best recommendations for us. After being in our home for 10 years, we needed to update and upgrade our kitchen. The furniture and fabric chosen looks perfect and I can honestly say I now have the kitchen I always wanted. She always went the extra mile to help us and I will definitely be a repeat client for our next project.

I have worked with Mary on a few occasions. She provided design services when we finished our basement in June 2014 and recently when I wanted to redesign my family room and living room. I loved all of her furniture and fabric suggestions. Mary is creative, talented, and a pleasure to work with. She designed our spaces to compliment our style and preferences, while varying textures and colors and rearranging items to create truly unique areas. My favorite rooms in our house are the three that Mary helped transform. I will definitely use her for future remodeling or design projects.

She is so kind and patient and I really enjoyed working with her through our project together. Mary designed a model apartment for an apartment community for me in Laurel, MD. The end result were rooms that are quietly elegant, not overdone, and they seem to impress and appeal to everyone who visits our model apartment. My enthusiasm for her design has not waned. I love looking at the rooms every time I go to the model apartment.

Mary was wonderful work with. She presented us with two floor plans and made our new living room come alive. She is creative and lovely besides having a keen eye and helped us make the bookcases look new and interesting. I would highly recommend her as an interior designer. Hire her.
