It was a pleasure working with Melissa on an extensive redecoration of our 37 year old home. She quickly assessed what was needed to update and modernize our house while attending to my preferences and concerns. Melissa has extensive resources for fabrics, carpeting and wallpaper and an active list of quality contractors with whom she works. The project was expensive, but the quality of the work and the final results were well worth it!

Melissa has had a great vision for designing and decorating our home. At the time we bought the home, it had the original builder grade materials, appliances, and decor from 25 years ago. Melissa has made wonderful suggestions for improvements that I could never have come up with myself, including carpet, paint, furniture, hardware, window treatments, lighting, wall art, and accessories. She has gotten to know what styles interest me and has identified options accordingly. She works with contractors and vendors that have done excellent, high quality work. She has excellent communication skills, and I have appreciated her straightforward advice and feedback for my questions and suggetions. My husband is equally impressed with Melissa's work and has said that our home is finally starting to feel like us instead of feeling like the previous owners. We both look around our home and love spending time here and feel great about inviting people over now. We highly recommend Melissa for home design, remodeling, and decorating projects!

Melissa was referred to us by a well-known Washington designer, now retired, with whom we had worked for many years. We own a unique midcentury modern home that required special attention. Our living spaces needed a major refresh because of wear and tear during the pandemic. Even though our budget was limited and our project was small and focused, Melissa devoted the same amount of attention to us as we would expect on a larger project. We are delighted with the outcome and have received many compliments from our many masked friends who visit! From the materials she helped us choose to the artisans she recommended, we could not be happier.

After living in our house for 20 years we thought it was time to improve the master bedroom - it had not had so much as a coat of paint in all that time! Given we are both working from home, we also wanted to convert one of our grown children's bedrooms into my husband's home office/study. Melissa has been amazing. She oversaw the contractor (while we were away for 3 weeks) and consulted with him on each step of the project (some builtins were torn out and new ones built in each room). She helped take our bedroom from "I'd like something peaceful" to "OMG - I love this space every time I walk in!". Melissa has a great eye - for color, shape, scope and detail. She helped patiently guide us while giving us lots of options and directions we could go in at each stage. She didn't let me settle on a just ok wallpaper for the accent wall in our bedroom - but instead redoubled her efforts and came up with the perfect one. She did all this during the pandemic while making sure that we knew exactly who would need to be in the house (so we could mask up and distance) and making sure each workman was masked and distanced and very safe. Melissa always came for each delivery of furniture, each measuring, each installation to ensure it went smoothly. I cannot recommend her highly enough!

We have worked with Melissa for several years and she has been great! She has helped us select furniture, window treatments, fabrics, lamps, and she worked on a kitchen update and helped design room layouts. She has helped bring our rooms together and we're extremely happy with the results. Melissa has a unique ability to see the big picture and then recommend the discrete steps needed to get there. Her sense of design and color are excellent. She has also always worked within our budgets. We highly recommend her!

Melissa is a wonderful designer! Her superpower was working with us to identify our style and then building in a fresh, updated and elegant design. She helped us re-envision our main floor living spaces in a way that added pizzaz and sophistication while incorporating set pieces and artwork that was very meaningful to us. Melissa's ideas about lighting, spacing, scale and design have truly transformed our space and we recommend her highly. (She's also a fun and warm person, very easy to work with.)

Melissa got me and my taste. I was looking for someone with a goodly amount of experience and she’s got that in spades. Was looking for wallpaper for a guest room and a new paint color for the living areas. Maybe a bath reno. Her ideas were so good, so cohesive that I feel like I’ve got a whole new condo. The bath is magazine worthy and the foyer (did that too!) is fabulous. My artwork never looked so good! The living area paint became grass cloth and it’s so MBF—moody but fabulous! Like me!

We knew we wanted a unique nursery for the new little one joining our family. We knew we didn't want anything we'd seen on Pinterest a hundred times over. We knew we wanted an calming environment to nurture our baby. We knew we wanted to incorporate art we'd recently found on a family trip, as well as reflect our unique travel experiences. We knew so much of what we wanted (or didn't want) and yet we had no idea how to actually make all those desires a reality. We didn't know how to pull it together or bring it to life for our baby. Oh and did we mention, we wanted to do it all while remaining gender neutral?! That's where Melissa and her amazing vision/experience and creative talent came in to play. We immediately knew she was the right person to work on our project. Energetic, friendly and open to our ideas, Melissa took a piece of the art we "thought" we wanted in the nursery and designed a gorgeous sanctuary for our baby and us! She is a consummate professional, provided us multiple (gorgeous) design options, recommended and used the highest quality materials and vendors. We loved her design so much we decided to do the baby's bathroom too! We could not have ever created the room(s) Melissa designed for us. It has truly become a treasured space in our home. Our daughter's face absolutely lights up when she's in there enjoying all of the details in a world that was created just for her, for that we will be forever grateful to Melissa and thankful we chose Melissa Broffman Interior Design!
