Mid-Century Rehab

My husband and I were very impressed with the professionalism we experienced in our dealings with Kirsti Mittag-Degala at Mid-Century Rehab here in Seattle. From the onset Kirsti was responsive, prompt, informative and thorough. She listened to our requests and concerns and located the following items for us: 1950's Paul McCobb extra-long sofa with walnut trim, reupholstered in Knoll Hologram fabric, in Bronze. Extra-long vintage walnut console table with substantial glass top which we positioned behind the Paul McCobb vintage sofa (the exact height and length complements the sofa beautifully) 1950's Adrian Pearsall walnut-based, glass-topped cocktail table, which we now enjoy in our living room flanked by 2 vintage side chairs. 1960's Adrian Pearsall low walnut side table which we paired with our existing vintage Scandinavian lounge chair. 1950's Paul McCobb Replogle standing floor globe in a bronze finish for our downstairs library/ rec room.. 1950's wooden retail jewelry box repurposed as a kitchen spice shadow box When one of the items arrived slightly damaged, Kirsti immediately contacted the shipping agency and handled all of the necessary negotiations to ensure reparations. We had a 1970's duck canvas-covered chair and a half and ottoman that my husband and I loved, but needed some serious updating. Kirsti Mittag-Degala was able to find a professional upholsterer to replace the loose stuffing in the existing chair with new foam, and it was recovered in beautiful striped Belgian chenille. She also covered new down throw pillows in the same chenille fabric for our sofa to tie everything together. Kirsti also found a coordinating textured-stripe fabric to recover the cushions on two vintage wicker chairs we already owned and had existing floor cushions recovered in this fabric as well. She was able to find all fabric through a 'green' fabric reseller at a large discount from the listed Trade pricing. More recently, Kirsti found some handmade solid walnut side tables that suit our Napa Valley decor. When we went to pick up the tables, there was a matching console table that Kirsti encouraged us to purchase and she helped us redesign our furniture placement to accommodate the new additions. The tables were also at a nice discount as they were previously used to decorate designer show houses. Another great find, Kirsti found for us was a wonderful source for re-framing artwork we already owned and for framing recently acquired art. In addition, we found large framed mirrors to open up our space and take advantage of our year-round California sunshine. This was also done at a deep discount with most pieces using left over molding from larger gallery framing jobs. We are extremely happy with Kirsti and would highly recommend her to anyone as she is extremely creative, resourceful and diversified. We look forward to working with her again in the future.

Kirsti provided a design consultation for our MCM/ Hollywood Regency living room and dining room. We addressed ways to open things up, visually, and create better overall traffic flow. This involved editing out some furnishings and better placement of existing furnishings. Kirsti has a great eye and quickly found a solution. We are so happy with the result!
