Michelle was recommended to us when we were building a duplex. She was there from the moment we started working on all the interior finishes, kitchen, bathrooms , furniture, etc… Her knowledge and expertise were evident from the beginning. She helped us make our choices with our input in mind and came up with ideas that made them so much better. We live in one of the units and the best compliment for us is when someone walks in and says “this house is so you”. Michelle is very professional but also very warm and attentive, the whole project from start to finish was a wonderful experience.

Soaring ceilings, expansive rooms, numerous windows and superior mountain views demanded a very special design for the renovation of our newly purchased house. Michelle at MK Design excelled at the challenge, and began with Auto-CAD sketches of all of the rooms incorporating new cabinetry and the furniture layout. Michelle created a well defined plan of the finished product starting with the hickory hardwood flooring, hickory beams, LED lighting, 24 motorized window shades, two fans each nearly 7 feet in diameter, perfectly sized furniture, area carpets and accessories, and even our hickory wine cellar. We were easily able to visualize the finished product before the renovation began. Michelle worked very well with the general contractor and was always willing to come by at short notice to discuss issues that arose during the construction. Numerous trips to select appliances, counter tops, area carpets, furniture and accessories resulted in a home that is comfortable and spectacular.

It has been a pleasure working with Michelle over the past several months on our home renovation. From start to finish, Michelle has guided us through every step of the process in a very professional manner. Her ideas were always presented with our taste in mind, but she did provide choices to help us 'think outside the box' with delightful results. Michelle has a very busy, successful business. However, she always responded to emails and phone calls promptly. Michelle is very familiar with suppliers in both Canmore and Calgary, which provided us with a wide variety of product selections. My windows needed quality blinds throughout the house. I knew MKDesign was who I needed to hire for the job. Michelle's extensive product knowledge and experience with window treatments was very evident throughout the consultation and process. Michelle listened to my vision and was able to provide me with great feedback and options. We used 3 different types of blinds throughout the home including wide vein woods, roman linens, and woven wood blinds.
