My husband and I first worked with Talli and Sharon of Allard + Roberts when we built our home in 2012 and they were wonderful. So when we built our lake house, we immediately reached out to Talli again. Although her business has grown tremendously along with a name change to Northside Design Collective, she paired us with Brandon and we absolutely loved working with him! He was professional, creative, easy to communicate with, and always gave us options so we felt involved in every decision. The finished house is beautiful and we couldn't be happier with the results! Any questions we had along the way were handled quickly and professionally. The entire experience was enjoyable from start to finish. We can't say enough about Talli Roberts, Miranda Cato, and the team at Northside Design Co. (formerly Allard + Roberts). Early in our build, they convinced us to rework the architecture and cap what was originally drawn as a two-story living room — a change that gave us a substantial new upper level living room and dramatically reduced sound transfer through the house. They drove that revision in lockstep with our builder, even finding a framing approach that let us keep tray ceilings in the living and dining rooms without a step-up upstairs. From there, they delivered on every detail: a custom stone-top sit-to-stand desk, a custom dining table, theater acoustics, drapery, lighting, a well orchestrated High Point Market visit, and a successful move-in day. Warm, responsive, and creative from first sketch to final punch list. We'd choose them again in a heartbeat.

We enjoyed working with the entire A+R Team. Talli and Miranda took the time to understand us and were able to deliver creative, polished concepts that perfectly aligned with our unique vision. Their professionalism and talent made the process “mostly” easy and enjoyable. The end result speaks for itself as we are absolutely thrilled with our new home in the mountains.

We truly had the Dream Team for our renovation. Allard and Roberts along with Steve Hammett of MS Hammett Construction made everything happen on time (actually early!) with a result that exceeded expectations. We purchased our home in February 2021, right in the middle of the pandemic. It was a time of long supply line delays and Covid-related work issues. And because we were brand-new to the area and our project called for an extensive renovation and a lot of furniture acquisition, we needed a firm that could provide project management along with the design component. Allard & Roberts has a highly professional and creative team who effortlessly made the magic happen. We are very happy with the results and grateful that A&R got us to the finish line during a very trying time.

Best decision we've made in a long time! We chose A+R for helping us furnish the main living level of our new home and what a fantastic job they did. They furnished our great room, screened decks, kitchen, dining, and primary bedroom. When I walked into my new bedroom I actually got goosebumps it was so beautiful. They recommended furniture, bedding, art and window treatments in a simple method of clicking and selecting, since we weren't living in Asheville at the time. We appreciated how they also helped us with lighting decisions and paint colors even though we were primarily focused on furniture. The lights they selected are amazing. So enjoyable to work with! It is no exaggeration to say that, for me, Talli and Megan saved the day. My husband and I bought a lovely home, but one that was dark and dated inside and heavily stylized in Tudor fashion. Long story short, Talli and Megan transformed the interior in just 4 months in Transitional style, and now I LOVE our home which feels fresh and bright - the kitchen especially. Among their strengths: Talli & Megan LISTEN. They tailor their suggestions to the client’s preferences and tastes, not their own. At the same time, I appreciated their candor when I asked for a “yay” or “nay” about the areas I was decorating on my own (the upstairs bedrooms, for example). A&R has been in business in Asheville for over a decade, so they are well connected and facilitated many of the introductions I needed coming from a different state, including finding the General Contractor. They worked in partnership with the builder so that I could be across the country while the work was being done and I didn’t have to worry about managing it myself – that’s how much trust I placed in A&R. Talli and Megan and team are also highly responsive. I had a tight timeframe to complete this project before we moved in. Talli and Megan always responded to me within 24 hours or less and they helped drive the project to the expected completion date, including managing the punch list follow up and the furniture delivery to ensure no items arrived damaged or caused damage. They even helped find accessories to create a finished look. If you have the means to invest in a high-end, blue chip design service – A&R is the team to beat. I highly recommend them. They are also a lot of fun to work with.

The Allard and Roberts team did a phenomenal job of managing all aspects of my design project, with the significant distractions of the Covid pandemic during the entire time. I am very satisfied with their professional manor and am very excited by the results of their work. They listened carefully to what I considered important and were able to accomodate what I was looking for, even when I was not 100% sure myself. It was not easy with covid issues and related problems including delays with the developer and available furnishings but they saw it thru to completion. I highly recommend them.

Allan and Roberts made building our new home streamlined ,simple and enjoyable. They are a team of talented professionals that lead all facets of interior design from initial furniture layout and selection , color planning, lighting , plumbing fixtures , floor and window treatments and all finishing details. AR is detailed oriented and solution seekers with a approachable design style. Talli was able to lead me thru the proper sequencing of selections to stay on schedule. Additionally , she worked with the architect and construction team to assure all aspects of the planning were executed according to our vision . They listened to my needs and proposed perfect solutions. Every member of their team is personable and professional. Calls and questions are always addressed promptly. They have extensive resources including local artist. The art we selected added a special connection to our new community. Their guidance was invaluable. We are ecstatic with the results .

Talli and her team work with the owners from construction design concepts to final furniture and art installation.
