I originally purchased 2 shelving designs from Stella Bleu Designs when they were on Etsy. I had encountered some slow communications, i.e. my following up on the order with little to no response. However, when I finally did receive the 2 pieces I was so pleased that I opted to meet and hire Andy and Katie for a custom job. From August 2013 through May 2014 we discussed design elements and functionality for a 2-tier console that would initially work as a stand for my flat screen TV. Ultimately I wanted a piece that would roll for easy transition, scale up/down for functionality as a coffee table/bar and that had drop leaves on the side for expanded capacity. We talked about stability mechanisms and brakes, discussed metal/wood components, cranks and wheels/levels for cool, but necessary additions. While most of these discussions were via email, I spent ~3 hours at their house describing exactly what I was hoping to achieve. Andy and Katie apologized and said that they had a large order for Whole Foods to finish first as they up against a difficult deadline. I was fine with waiting, believing they understood the complexity of my desires and needed focus to accomplish the product. As requested, I sent a $500 deposit via PayPal in Nov 2013 and 13 months later I still have nothing to show for it. Andy had a family emergency to attend to in the early summer and while I continued to reach out via email, text, and phone, Katie sent one message to let me know that he would eventually be back in touch. Thankfully in Sept/Oct, he returned a family heirloom that we were going to incorporate in the project, but I have requested a return of the deposit over 8-10 times. The design work and pieces are absolutely amazing when you get them, but the lack of communication and customer service isn't worth the grief.

My client hired the Oilfield Slang design team for our downtown St Louis 8 unit loft project. Their industrial lighting and wall shelving was a HUGE selling point to buyers. I highly recommend the OFS design team and their product line!

What started as an exciting project in April this year unfortunately turned into a more complex, and time consuming experience. We ordered a coat-rack bench with an extra shelf in April. After a couple of e-mail exchanges in which Katie suggested that we will be given a targeted completion date shortly, all communication went dead and, despite many efforts to connect, it took until September to receive word - this time a nice surprise; the bench was ready and on its way. Bench arrived a couple of days ago and we put it together. All pieces fit well; the coat hangers are really well thought out and the wood has real character. The solution for the extra bottom shelf was less convincing as it is meant to just sit on four metal rings on the floor, not directly attached to the bench. We decided to modify the bench ourselves, adding connecting pipe between the legs on the short side (just like on the picture on their website; ours didn't have these) and one along the long side in the middle for stability reasons as well as now putting the bottom shelf onto these. Now we are very happy with it. Katie and team need to work on their customer communication though; would make for an even more successful business - I think.

I was so excited to receive the two bookshelves that I'd ordered from Oilfield Slang. I ordered in late January, and followed up with a question about a customization that I'd requested. After receiving no response at all for 2 months, I followed up again and was told they'd be starting work that week and shipping next week. Another month went by and I heard nothing, so this time I called and was told they were putting the finishing touches on my piece and would ship the next day. Another couple of weeks and again I had heard nothing. I emailed a couple more times, but by the end of May I requested a charge back on my credit card. Great concept, but I suspect the owners may have bitten off more than they can chew.

unfortunately, i've had a rather disappointing experience with Oilfield Slang. i placed an order with them for a customized Sue Garment Rack back in January 20 and paid in full $473.27. first i receive an email on March 28 letting me know that they would get on it asap. then i get a second email on April 24 telling me that they're approaching completion of my garment rack and i should be expecting it the following week. i'm STILL waiting!!! *i'll update this review when i either get my item in the mail or get a refund.

I had purchased a corner industrial bookshelf from Oilfield Slang. The order was never received. I called them five months later in October 2013. They seemed very kind and promised to resolve the issue. I have been emailing them ever since. I have received no reply. The original order was placed May 2013. All my emails were ignored. I called once in December and they assured me they would find it. Through several emails I didn't ask for a refund. I only wanted the product I saved and paid for delivered to a couple that had been kind to me as a housewarming gift. I gave up and asked for a refund several times with no reply. Buyer beware. The work is exquisite but you will never get your purchase. They will give you no refund. They will keep your money. They do not care about their customers.

I hired Katie to outfit dental clinic for me partner and me. Her work is solid and refined with the perfect amount of sleek. I recommend her for all of your project needs Large and small.

I purchased a lamp from Oilfield Slang/Stella Bleu Designs on August 7. On August 15 I followed up with an email inquiring about an anticipated shipping date- no response. I waited another 2 weeks and then called. I was told my order would ship "next week" and that orders normally take 4-6 weeks. I politely suggested that her website should offer that information, and took her at her word. Two weeks later, I still had nothing so I called again and was told my order was made, boxed and ready to ship "tomorrow". It didn't. Finally on Sept 23 I received an email saying my order had "shipped" but the provided tracking number showed only "Electronic Shipping Info Received" and that status has not changed as of October 7! Unless the lamp is being shipped from Saturn on the back of a 3-legged mule there is no legitimate reason I should not have this lamp by now. Save yourself a lot of time and money- make it yourself.
